  • It almost funny to me how your simple scrap projects are near masterpieces. Of course your bigger projects are totally mind blowing - so in that context it makes a lot of sense. Your channel is awesome - keep up the great work! 👍

  • I love the scrap projects. I enjoy the “let’s see what happens” element to them.

    • I agree. The solid side was pretty easy to see but the layered side was a great surprise.

  • Great piece. Glad there is someone willing to turn wood instead of endless epoxy waste.

  • How it’s made - in today’s episode how a traditional vase design is fused with the modern using only scraps. Just brilliant. Chapeau! Bravo!

  • Liked the presentation. Much of this very clever wood working I think that I've seen before on PBS? The fellow used a band saw to cut away most of the waste to get to the part where he used a lathe. He even had a similar holding mechanism with small wheels. If memory is serving well enough, that PBS fellow made a tall, wide bowl.

Bon travail. Merci d'avoir partagé ton cadeau.

  • Your methods and technics on this project to produce the beautiful vessel is sound. I don't want to sound like a hater or a nervous Nellie (sorry to the Nellie's out there), but you are teaching a new young generation of craftsmen/apprentices that it is ok to wear gloves while turning on a lathe. Nothing could be more dangerous. I have heard other craftsmen explain how there years of experience have taught them to be a little more daring around band saws, table saws, milling machines ect... And I can buy some of that. But two machines you don't mess around with are lathes and drill presses. These machines will pull your whole body into the equipment. This rule still applies and I pulled it off the internet: Do not wear gloves, rings, watches or loose clothing. Tie back and confine long hair. Do not lean on machine. There are technics to deal with hot chips. Learn them from a journeyman. Be safe all. Cheers.
