This piece represent the eye of Sauron, which is a fictional character from Lord Of The Rings univers, created by J.R.R Tolkien.
All colors are the natural aspects of the different wood I used. No paint or dye was added.
Here is the woods I've used:
Ebony (Black)
Bow wood (Yellow)
Muirapiranga (Orange)
Giraffe thorn (Red)
Sipo (Brown)
It's made out of around 585 individual pieces.

When I watch woodworking and machining videos I think about which of the techniques I already know, which ones I think I can learn, and which ones I could never do. I got a lot of clamps, and I know how to use them. I think I could learn to apply glue that uniformly, but not nearly as fast. The rest of it is in the I'll never be able to do that, category.
I know nothing about wood turning but I love to watch you turn the ordinary into the extraordinary. You are extremely talented!!!
Your ability to see the finished product and figure out how to get there amazes me. And then the precision you display is beautiful. As are all your pieces.

As a wood turner from many years ago who had to give it up due to lack of time and gear I was happy just to turn up a bowl or simple vase from a single piece of wood. Mate I can't believe what you are making from a simple pile of scrap wood. You have a real talent there. Keep up the good work and I hope to see more of your fine piece. Watching you has encouraged me to get back into wood turning. Just need to fine a lathe and some tools.

I really liked the shot from behind the piece. Watching the material disappear as the piece became more round was strangely satisfying.

Bonjour Olivier, Je viens de découvrir ta chaîne et après avoir vu ta vidéo de ton vase à 30 000 pièces je me retrouve ici. C'est très impressionnant. Ce qui l'est encore plus, c'est ton jeune âge. Etre capable de faire ce que tu fais, c'est à rendre jaloux des menuisiers-tourneurs qui ont 20 ans de tournage derrière eux... Tu devrait faire le concours de meilleur ouvrier de France, tu y as ta place sans aucun doute !
