This is me showing how I set and self taught myself in flying a paramotor, by no means am I an instructor and this is not to be used as a training reference. always seek professional training and do not learn just from videos like I did my self. once judson has some free time im suppose to get some training with him. aviator Ppg in lake whales Florida has an amazing school with with some of the best instructors out there!

  • The most important part of training besides learning how to actually flying, are understanding basic airspace laws/ FAR 103, and truly understanding basic weather science so you don’t find yourself in a bad situation. 😉🤙

    • @@ChuckyWright I agree. You've got what I think you'd get from a basic training course minus the aeronautical stuff... I'd go for an SIV course now and get some emergency situational awareness so you don't freak out while in a twist or something like that. You may not think you would but some people go into a shock state in an emergency and its just good practice for unusual situations. Nice flying BTW.

    • SAME! I was talking in a voice chat yesterday and the guy first mentioned a paramotor. I never heard of them or looked them up before, so my phone must’ve been listening. First video suggested on KZhead was a 17,500 feet paramotor flight. I subscribed as well.

  • What a great review of all the things that go through your mind. It's the entire process in a nutshell! The camera crew on the ground gives an added perspective. Even if I were young again, I'm probably not athletic enough for this sport, but I love to see you do it. Best video ever! Thanks to everyone who made this possible -- your mother, for giving birth to you, and KZhead for making it possible to publish.

So with a trike, one doesn't fall in the sand and bust one's expensive carbon-fiber propeller. That's a great suggestion, Chucky. --And I understand the limitations.

    • @@ChuckyWright you can, yes. Should you? Not unless you have 3 things: 1) a clutched motor 2) a prop strap and 3) a safe start system. If your gear doesn't have these, then ground starting is just asking for trouble. Ask anyone who said, "Sure, you can ground start if you know what yer doing!" and then they end up chopping themselves up because maybe they overprimed a bit and the engine revs up and turns the motor into a blender. They'll tell you it was the dumbest mistake they've ever made. FB forums are FULL of people that think ground starting is OK - only to learn the hard way. It's just a really, really bad idea.

    • @@christopdeck3457 how’s things pal yes I’m alive 🤣 I was actually only out yesterday flying…I ended up travelling to spain to do my course and get my license with Fly-Spain best decision I ever made 🪂 have you a motor or thinking of flying?

      @Rashers-@Rashers- Жыл бұрын
    • @@Rashers- I’m fine thanks. No, I don’t think I’d have the guts to do it, plus my wife wouldn’t let me do it anyway. 😀. It’s interesting to watch though. What kind of heights do you get to? Is there never a chance of the sail collapsing in on itself? Do you ever have a hard landing? So many questions. Anyway, stay safe and good flying !

  • I gave a thumbs up because... 1. I am not a hater, and 2. I enjoyed the video. now having said that, I have a true passion to do exactly what you are doing. Flying a para motor for me is much more than an interest. it is a celebration of life and living my dream after beating cancer.there are no words to express my passion and devotion to achieve this goal. My passion and dream, led me to find any way to do this with gear I could afford (with a lifetime payment plan for medical bills). I Thank god daily for his blessings, and my recovery. I also thank god, l have done research and though a tough pill to swallow realize if I can not afford proper training and gear, then that celebration, and passion could be short lived. Please sir tread lightly in persuading others like myself to follow their passion blindly. If I saw this video a couple of years ago, either I would be making my videos of self taught, or I would have become a statistic. Though I want to live, passing doing something you love is acceptable with me. Just sharing so you understand the impact you may have. I pray you continue to stay safe and enjoy sir.

  • You said your self taught. I'm amazed how perfectly you took off and landed. I've watched KZhead videos for years on paramotoring and feel I could fly a paramotor. Would you take a moment of your time and explain what you did to do the leap of faith? Did you kite for a length of time. Then just go for it? Any info would be great. I know all paramotorists highly recommended training. Yet, it's been done by many. Love your videos pal.

    • @@ChuckyWright please do. I'm following what you did by kiting, kiting and more kiting. Being it's the heart of paramotoring. The paramotor just propel us upwards and forward. I've never flown yet. Had session set up last year with kyleo in Louisiana but, my dad's health got bad. Had to cancel. I feel very confident I can self train myself as you did. I'm a very safe and have alot to lose also. You did so flawlessly. I'm excited. Please do video of step by step. Hooking into harness. Reverse launch etc. Dedicate video to me. My buddies will love it. Hehe

    • @@michaelbarnes7086 Best of luck to you! If you can find a pilot to help for even just a few moments, youll fare with better odds. I found it pretty damn tough and I've done a LOT of active sports in my time. Its always seems easy, until its your ass in the seat.

      @shanesplanetshane3795@shanesplanetshane3795 Жыл бұрын
    • @@michaelbarnes7086 there are a lot of things you can get wrong if you 'take the leap of faith' and teach yourself to fly. Or you could get lucky. I suggest learning as much as you can on your own (videos, reading) and then finding an instructor so you can maximise your instructional time. It's an amazing sport. Good luck.

      @airmalik@airmalik Жыл бұрын
    • It's always possible to teach yourself most things! Remember this though, the survivors of such are here to tell you how easy it is. The rest are either not here or they are incapacitated or ashamed. Lessons from a good sensible instructor will multiply your chances of success and safety by MANY times. The cost of failure in flight can be life altering and more expensive than anything. Also I can only assume there are reserve chutes available, have one of those too.
