    • We have so many flying vehicles, planes, and helicopters. These videos have the aviation equivalent of “Sunday” cars and dirt bikes. What we can’t make, is something the general public can safely pilot. The flying “car” is about the ergonomic experience, and casual civilian pilots. You can totally land a small helicopter in your driveway already, you just might decapitate your Neighbors if they’re bringing in the groceries at the time.

    • this is the way to go for sure. throw a cage around the blades for safety (bird impacts or some ass hole kids throwing rocks at you... cause that will probably happen. or someone mad you flying over their land). once we figure out how to maintain long charges with high demand on small batteries, this will probably be the way. auto stabilize, probably very easy to learn controls. i think the whole jetpack concept is cool and will probably serve a military purpose due to the speed capabilities, but if were lookin for transport for everyday people, that aint it. the only other issue i see with the copterpack, is for people who live in colder climates, if they can find a way to integrate a lightweight insulated capsule that can handle the basic necessities, while still maintaining its sleek profile (if they gotta up the blade size a little no big deal) i would gladly donate to that cause. with the advance in technology for smart screens and whatnot shouldnt be hard to pull off. plus if they do it right, they could make the pod house a parachute in case of emergencies. theres the new aerogel that is incredibly lightweight and I THINK (not entirely sure) has great insulation properties. i give it 10 years at best and we'll see a product sold to the masses. out of everything ive seen though, this by far has me the most interested and i will try to keep tabs on their roadmap and see how far along they are coming.

They have always been completely impractical though, just as all of V these show here are completely impractical. Nothing has changed there. Non-vtol ultralight aircraft have also been around for decades, and they have only gotten better year after year. Paramotors are extremely affordable and have ranges up to 290 miles. Now a tandem trike paramotor won’t have such great range, but it still will be better than most of what was shown here, and you can actually buy a complete tandem trike paramotor setup right now for under 20k.

The evolution of tech advancements in this field multiplies as time goes on, it won't be long before they produce a heavy commercial use battery for cars that's far better than what we have now, which in turn will implement naturally towards vehicles such as these in the video. I would say as a guess, give it until 2027 - by then I have no doubt that what we have now, will be completely different by then, as in far more advanced, further than it took in the last 15 years multiplied 10 fold.

If they had hydrogen fuel cells instead of crappy batteries or Kerosine, they'd be able to go MUCH further, because of less weight and higher energy density, the latter would be much quieter too. Only problem with the Opener BackFly is the shape. When it's hovering, you can't see in front of you... Alauda Airspeeder looks very elegant. The Gravity jet suit is like a crude Iron Man prototype. Same goes for the Jet Wing, that's kind of like a prototype for the Falcon suit from the Marvel Universe. I can see a lot of them going very far, no pun intended 😛
