David Blaine one of the biggest names in magic has again achieved a remarkable feat.
As a child, David had a dream to go all the way up in the sky just holding balloons and as they say, DREAMS DO COME TRUE.
DAVID BLAINE - ASCENSION is all about capturing that dream, where he David goes 25000 feet in the air using a couple of helium balloons and skydives back.
Not to brag or anything, but I changed the lightbulb in my hallway while standing on a kitchen chair last week.
Ii have vertigo,changing my kitchen light bulb while on a step stool is an adventure.
So.. who cares..

WoW. This makes my legs shake! Amazing, but I'll admit that I scrolled to the end of the recording before I watched it just to make sure he landed safely before I decided to watch it. I just kept thinking of his daughter - how inspiring and how scary at the same time. As an former Army helicopter pilot, I found the whole experience underwhelming. Didn't some guy do this in a lawn chair without a huge crew, helicopters, and all the tech. It would have been more impressive if he had popped the ballons in stages to land.

Me too, much ado about nothing, a load of smoke and mirrors. As a young man, I would have done it for fun.
Keith, about 40 years ago a guy in a lawn chair with a bunch of balloons and a BB gun flew over Wichita Kansas. He was pretty high (in altitude and probably some other drugs). A shot some balloons out too descend. It didn't go too well. He hit pretty hard and ended up in a wheelchair the rest of his life.
As a helicopter pilot did you ever ascend up to 25,000 feet with ONLY balloons and parachute down? I bet not! It is easy to criticize, but just because you were a helicopter pilot does NOT mean you could have done this.

Yes, of course he must be stuck with something. But I wonder if they made the claim that it would be like David did the stunt with one hand and sheer strength. I mean the record with two hands is 2-4 minutes and then I am being generous with the numbers, in his case we are talking significantly more than that time. So unless they are the claim I wonder why anyone would think they were a hand. Maybe it's just for him to regulate the balloons. But he would have had a parachute as backup and if he has it under the jacket, he must be at a considerable height or have a special jacket. But anyway cool and not something I dared to do anyway

He jumped from an altitude of just under 25,000 feet - why would you expect to see any curvature in this footage? If you don't see curvature from a commercial passenger jet at an altitude of 35,000 feet, then why would you expect to see any from an even lower height? Just out of interest, have you ever seen any footage that's been recorded from the International Space Station that orbits the earth at an altitude of 250 miles?
