Mom Goes After Lion Cub That’s Washed Away in Flooding River
A lion cub gets swept away in a flooding river but swims for its life to reach mom, only to get washed away again. This time mom swims after it and saves it from drowning. 😱 Send in your wildlife video here, and earn money: www.latestsightings.com/partn...
28-year-old guide at Sabi Sands, Callum Robertson, was able to capture this rare moment on camera and shared it with LatestSightings.com.
“We had been searching for these lion cubs for a while. We had a general idea of their whereabouts and headed in that direction. Finally, we found them on the other side of a flooding river. It was a tense moment as we watched the cubs crawl out of the reeds and prepare to cross the dangerous waters.”
Lions are not known for their love of water and only swim when necessary, so it was a surprise when the cubs began showing intent to cross. “We held our breath. One of my guests couldn’t even watch as she had her head tucked between her legs.”
“In the end, we had a sigh of relief as the mother was able to swim to safety with the one cub, but the question of how she was going to fetch the other cub still lingered.”
Lionesses have incredible motherly instincts and dedication to their cubs. From protecting them from predators to teaching them how to hunt, lionesses are always there for their cubs. They nurse their young to care for them until they reach adulthood.
“Our relief was short-lived as the second cub was swept away by the strong currents. We watched in horror as it struggled to stay afloat. To our amazement, the little cub managed to swim back towards its mother. Our hearts were in our throats as we waited to see what would happen next.”
“Thankfully, the mother lioness proved her worth as she plunged into the water to rescue her cub. We watched as she swam towards her struggling baby and brought it safely to shore.”

No one goin to talk about how strong that cub is swimming against the current? That was impressive to me! Wow
No one? You can literally hear the guy on the video saying that. lol!
A tiger cub would have swam circles around that stupid little lion
@@chrisfearn3375 a tiger cub woulda jump hopped right over that river, the only reason it would enter that water is to kill a hippo or croc for breakfast
between?
The person recording it talks about it lol
Love that you could hear the meows of the cub
I know! My heart was racing but hearing his cries made me think “ok at least he’s still alive!” 🙌🏾🙌🏾
The mom was like “You have to be strong”
Great rescue. What a mom
Wow! Incredible mom, good job strong mommy, she went against all odds to save her baby from the deep water. She is a heroine. 🙏🏻👑👏👏
she's a mother
I can't relate sadly
It's heartwarming to see a mother's fierce love and determination to protect her child, even in the animal kingdom. Nature can be both beautiful and inspiring.
🤥
wow That cub must be able to breath through its ears.😁
Precisely!!!

Lion moms are the best
That lioness was so bold and brave, normally animal parents would let their kids die if it would mean they die too, but she knew that a river is not gonna stop her from getting her cub Mad respect
Depends on how expensive the Cubs are.
She risked her life for the future King.
Human moms kill theirs before birth
She's a good mother for going after him but a great mother would've scooped him up after he swam to her. But I'm sure she's only working with what brain she was given
It's true that the protective instincts of animal parents can be incredibly strong, and this story of a lioness going after her cub in a flooding river is a powerful example of this. It's a reminder that the bonds between parents and their young are a fundamental part of the natural world, and that animals are capable of incredible acts of bravery and sacrifice in order to ensure the survival of their offspring. It's a testament to the resilience and adaptability of the animal kingdom, and an inspiration to us all.
God bless her and her little family ❤ 🙏
The fierce protective instincts of animal mothers never cease to amaze us. This story of a mother going after a lion cub that was washed away in a flooding river is a testament to the depth of the maternal bond in the animal kingdom. It's a reminder that the struggle for survival in the wild is a shared experience, and that even fierce predators have a nurturing and protective side when it comes to their young.
That had me on edge!
Instinct and mother's love never runs out to tell
Great rescue!
,,you are not ordinary naughty cub,,,because you can swim against flood water,,,its extreme danger,, ,,,hun,,still love it,,😘😘✨warm hug.
Mothers 💓
Amazing video and amazing mum!
Good momma. My momma would do the same for me.
That is one tough cub. Thanks so much for sharing your videos.
Was holding my breath watching this clip. It’s difficult to watch & not being able to hello. What a magnificent warrior this lioness mum is!
Awesome footage 📸 S/o to the Lioness
Super mom ❤❤
I LOVE THIS LION CLIP
My momma would say cheerio as I go down stream😂 Love this channel tho ❤
I would like to believe that the cub survived. A brief video of healthy cubs at the end doesn't convince me that that brief video had anything to do with the mother lion dragging it's probably drowned cub to shore.
And
Tried her hardest except baby passed
He going to be a great king wow Great video
Thank God the cub is safe!
لحسن الحظ أنهم نجو الأثنين 🥰🥰😘
It sounded like it was still meowing while the mom was carrying it. Maybe its head wasn't underwater that entire swim back to shore...I hope it didn't drown.
Because the image was cut before the end of the rescue, I wonder if the cub really survived. I want to believe that he did. I know this is a very honest channel and brings the true no matter what. So I’m giving it the credit. But I got scared cause the cub seemed to be with his head under water…
Considering we heard cub cry out up until the last few seconds of the video, he could breath and keep his head above water long enough.
The cub was making noise so I think he’s alive
🙏
One thing I hate about this channel. Every vid is cut for twtterbated, short attention span idiots..
It's understandable to have concerns and questions about what happened to the cub. Hopefully, the channel will provide updates to reassure viewers and put their minds at ease.
OMG I'M SPEECHLESS😮😮😮
Was I the only one waiting for the croc to show up 😮😅
uhm where's the rest?
no worries, little one - mama's got your back

She knows the cub will protect her one ☝🏽 day
If you think lionnesses need protection from lions then you know nothing about them outside of Disney movies
@@GalopaWXY they do, especially around crocs it has proven many times. So stfu 🤫
Wow,what an ordeal❤️
Lovely mom💥- little cubbie moews lives to tell a wildddd river/mommy story😛💥
Do we really need the baby talk?
@@CrookedNose2131 would u rather everyone to be sesquipidalian?🤔
Was eagerly waiting for the moment when the man would jump dive into the river to save the cub .. my bad to have read the title as, ‘man goes after lion cub that washed away…’ 😅
Good mom
She's just doing what a good mom should, giving swimming lessons!
Fantastic catch on video again.😊
Great sighting! Moedernatuur is wonderlik.
Thank goodness there was no croc on site.
Beautiful ❤ Lion's hate water.
It reminded me a bit of the movie Lion King and the sequence in the valley.
God is so good i prayed and l too help him pless God 🙏
Thank God the mama saved the baby. Btw If you're non-religious and have a problem with the the word "God" please keep your negative comments to yourself.
Wow!
The cub needed no swimming classes, the mom needed no help, nature and creation win battles with the creator's character."Never give up"
Simba "I laugh in the face of danger" Also Simba:
She understands the assignment than certain women nowadays
I hope they did reunite with the pride.
Lucky for them, no crocs nearby.................
No-one talking about the croc watching below on 1:18
Idk... did that cub really survive?
I’m surprised the crocs didn’t get them. Going in the water is usually a death sentence.
And that's why cats don't like baths.
What kind of mother let’s there children play in a river 😮
That was intense.
Would a male lion do the same?🤔
Thanks
Thankfully a Croc 🐊 didn’t show up
😍😍😍
The film I saw showed both the mother and baby still in the river. Anyone know if they both got out okay?
You stop short of showing the complete crossing. not happy with the cut ending.
Uff dios mío, menos mal.
And they say that only tigers know how to swim
I am very worried that the video cuts before we see them reaching safety, that edit makes no sense at all- and it seems to me like the lionness is holding the cub with its head underwater while she swims I think this footage ended in tragedy but wouldn't have been well received on Internet so they redid the ending
Great
Lioness is ARGUABLY the most important of the Pride. Without the MUMS watching their every move, and providing those daily meals, those MALES don't grow to be as MIGHTY as they are later in life 🦁
The males defend the entire territory from rogue males that would kill the cubs. Both the male and female are very important for the defense of the cubs.
Can you See why certain communities are failing? No preventative death measures.
@@FatherManus , I think what you said goes without saying. I know they treat us badly on Father’s Day compared to Mother’s Day sir..I get it.
@@FatherManus who do you think makes the males bud?

My impressive thing is how these people don't know how to use the zoom button on the camera
On the bright side, Junior got a bath
No crocs outthere to spice things up...😅
Enjoyed your video and I gave it a Thumbs Up Slava Ukraini!!!!!!!
Hey everybody, why did the lions cross the river?
This movie does not show the reunion, didn't film everything. So it's a fairy tale....
Agreed
cute
I was more concerned about crocodile😅😅. In such situations, they are much of a threat to watch.
no way that cub survived I need real proof.
Why cut the scene from them being in the water to them being safe on land? Let us see them making it out the water. When I see scene cuts like that, it lets me know something horrific happen and someone is trying to hide it. I bet the cub didn't actually make it out the water.
😊😊😊😊😊u😊
I'm pretty sure that cub drowned being under the water the entire time its mom was carrying it!!!
Why cut it before they get to land?????
It's a river with a current. It's not flooding.
Everyone talking about a great mother lioness... if she was so great she would've known not to swim upstream under a heavy current with her cub like that. Glad the little one survived... hopefully the mother learned a lesson
She's an animal, not a human being.
👌🌺👌
You didn't show, so it died.
Yay, red arrows in thumbnails…
😊
Why no full video? That’s unprofessional
Mom
Are we sure they reunited? Looks like a different video at the end……
Jesus loves you and may God bless.
😂😂😂😂😂
i don't believe he made it alive, i would believe it if i saw the mother get out of the river with him rather than just cutting to some random lion cub...

haha lovely
Why no one help save this little cub instead u guys just keep filming w/ out doing nothing what a shamme the water not that deep
Don't stick merchandizing banners in the middle of the video!!! Its bad enough that links are plastered all over the screen before the video is over, and that there are banners for subscribe, notify, Like, etc. But this is yet another new one. Greedy people who need to ruin a good wildlife video with their unethical practices. DON'T DISRESPECT THE VIEWER!!!!!!!!!!!
