2 Abandoned Lion Cubs - Kruger Park Game Drives.
Kruger Park Game Drives: gyg.me/6bcNztFL
First, I found the 2 cubs alone right next to the road - then their mother came from across the dry river bed - the cubs ran from this side down to the dry river bed, to meet her - the 3 had a small quick reunion but the mother immediately left again(back on the hunt or maybe looking for a 3rd cub?).
She obviously told them to stay as they did not move from that spot for several hours(they almost looked like Elephant dung with the naked eye and other cars drove right past until we stopped them and told them) - then another female showed up(most probably their "aunt") as she went and laid a few meters away but the cubs stayed at exactly the same spot which their mother told them to stay(during the quick reunion) - then the aunt left as well and crossed the road in front of us.
Lionesses with cubs often get help from another female in the pride when the cubs are still young. We sat there for just over 6 hours waiting patiently to see what the outcome will be but left when the 2nd Lioness moved off and left the 2 cubs yet again abandoned...
Later that evening, we got the news that the mother returned and all 3 left together. A huge sigh of relief!
This video is the result of several clips joined together.The video was filmed on the Biyamiti Loop during a recent Safari in the Southern section of South Africa's Kruger National Park.

2 Abandoned Lion Cubs - Kruger Park Game Drives.
@KrugerParkGameDrives
The cubs sàt completely still. Amazing how they waited
Thanks for hanging around the little lion cubs. Glad momma came back too.😮❤
@earlaroberts5034 - My pleasure, I was happy to do it(although I spent 6 hours with them), just to be sure, they are safe(while I was there). It was a HUGE relief when we heard the Lioness came back for her cubs.❤ ❤ ❤ Thanks for watching until the end. ❤
Oh wow , I am so relieved she came back to her cubs, I was so upset until I knew it was a happy ending, as those little ones looked so lost ❤️❤️
@allisonmchugh5998 Hi. Glad you were relieved - so was I :) The cubs really crept into my hart.Thanks for watching until the end
What a relief to hear the cubs were found by their mother ❤
@claudiasangwais1129 - Hi Claudia. 100% Correct! It was a huge relieve for me too. Lion cubs are very vulnerable at this age.
I pray may those 2 beautiful lion cubs grow up and breed more lions 🤗😘🙏
@WILDnFREEaye - Hi. I hope so too! 2 Beautiful Lion cubs!
A very kind man spending 6 hours watching the lonely cubs. By the way, you have a magnetic voice.
@joesmith9288 - Hi. Thank you. Kind of you to mention that. :)
That means that when you left there was another people watching for you !
@pascalecleriediaz3816 - Yes, the guys that went out on the night drive :)
Oh geez. This is the sad part of cubbies. Mom leaves to hunt etc... and cubbies get into mischievous situations. Lost. Happy to see she found them. ❤
I agree. We spent 6 hours with them. And it was 6 long anxious hours.
Mom allows mom❤ to
@mohammedkhalid1526 - For sure! ❤
Happy ever after
@mdm834 - I truly hope so! I will give an update when I can :)
Lioness never abandon their cubs. Perhaps, the cubs ran away. Lions LOVE their pride. ❤❤❤
It is a known fact that Lionesses abandon their cubs - most times not by choice(for example, when they get killed on a hunt), but the cubs will never run away from their mom as can be seen in this video - they patiently sat and waited for her return, which she luckily did. Thanks for watching until the end.
Heartwarming ending.
The male cub seemed to look significantly bigger. It surprised me that they stayed in the open instead of in the brush.
@jiritichy7967 - Yes, at this stage in their young lives, he is a lot bigger that the female cub. That is where their Mother told them to stay - I really don't know why as it was very open there. We discussed this in another comment as well. Maybe because she was in a rush? One of those rare unexplainable things Lions do? :)
Thank God she came back for them I was relieved.
@FAMA-18 - So were we! :) Thanks for watching until the end.
How sweet they are. They listen what mother told them and learn to survive in the wildness
@kimlee5024 - They are! But I think they realized that they were naughty in moving in the first place(when I found them next to the road). And then when their Mom told them a second time to stay - they obeyed, and did not move from that spot - not even to either run away or approach the second Lioness.
Simply precious so glad all is well and thank you..❤️🙏
Yes, thank you for watching until the end.
So happy to hear that the mother cameback
Yes, I agree. It was a huge relief!
They are so smart ❣️ Sometimes we just don't give them credit enough 🤗 Thanks for sharing 🙏🏻
Absolutely!! So true. Thanks for watching until the end.
Social animals are highly intelligent
For sure. I agree.
LOVELY To see.Glad momma came back for them
Thank you.
Very happy the other lioness did not use that as an opportunity to harm the cubs and mom eventually returned. Love these videos. Creation is amazing.
@notesofhouseradionohradio9855 - Me too! Thanks so much!
I'm still baffled how they sit and listened to their moms but mines don't sit and listen to me. What she know that I sont know 🤔😁
@LovieBrown-hy7dq - Must be old school methods 😂 😂 😂
@@KrugerParkGameDrives must be😂😂😂
Happy end after hours of fear for these two superb cubs. Bless them and their mother. ❤ 🦁 🙏
@jpcattaneo8181 Hi. Definitely! 6 Long hours of stress and anticipation of what might happen. Thanks.
Love lions to much
happy to know the cubs are ok.
@seatabarnett6772 - Hi. Definitely. It was a drama filled day but a happy ending :)
So smart those cubs..they did not jump to greet the other lioness🥰
@LuckyLiger-zg7hx - No, they did not. They stayed exactly on the spot their Mother told them to stay.
So what was the intent of the second lionesses.. was she baby sitting for her sister the mother lionesses?
@cashfrancios7284 - Yes, the second Lioness was baby sitting but I did not realize it immediately. Only after she went and laid close to them, without attacking and/or hurting them, I knew she was the aunt. :)
When mama say you don’t move you better not
@jameskelly6347 - Hi James. Yes - they were very obedient :) Thanks for watching until the end.
What a beautiful animal but my favorite cat is the tiger. I pray that these two gorgeous cubs make it to adulthood.
@remyasmar418 - I'm sure if we had Tigers in Africa, it would also have been one of my favorites. Don't forget about the beautiful Leopard! :)
Very cute & nice cubs! They obey their Mom 100%❤
@rerereiiirrrthaaaa - Yes! Extremely obedient - not like some others.... :)
Great video , happy to hear their mum came back to collect them 🥹🙏
@georgiosdrymonitis9413 - Hi. Thank you. Us too! :) Thanks for watching until the end.
Don’t you wish children obeyed their parents like these cubs did.
@cortrellcarpenter8413 - Hahaha - Yes, they were very obedient(the cubs) Lol :)
Thanks for telling the whole story!❤️
I totally agree 👍 bro ❤️🦁👑
@lauralutz4538 and @AngelPerez-vo7nn - My pleasure. Glad it had a happy ending. Thanks for watching until the end.

Trust me mother knows where they are 😮😮
Amazing lion body language 😅😅😅😅😅

Well done . Thanks so much for letting us know that Mum did return.... Thanks guys❤ Zimbabwe 🇿🇼
@lisamostert8246 - Hi Lisa! Yes, I was also very relieved. My pleasure ❤
An amazing adventure. With a happy ending. ❤❤❤
@viviennedearlove5426 - Hi Vivienne - Glad you watched it until the end. ❤ It was 6 very stressful hours. Thanks
Thank you for sharing! Lions have such difficult life!
@kieunganguyen693 - My pleasure. Yes they do! Thanks for watching until the end.
🙏🙏🙏 what a relief mom came back ❤❤❤
@lisa23245 - Hi Lisa. Yes,it was quite an anxious time waiting and hoping, but thankfully she came back. :) 🙏🙏🙏 ❤
First of all great content I was told worried about beautiful Cubs being killed by lioness 🥺 thank God there mom came back to get them 🙏 thanks 👍 bro ❤️🦁👑
@AngelPerez-vo7nn - Thanks so much! Yes - I agree and was happy too!. Glad all the Lions were safe. I'm sure I already replied to you but somehow some of my comments keep disappearing?
@@KrugerParkGameDrives no problem Keep them coming content ❤️ Have a great day besafe ✌️🤗 bro ❤️🦁👑
@AngelPerez-vo7nn - Thanks bro. You too! :)
Cubs look like different ages, such a size difference. Glad they are safe. Msube second Lioness just reassuring them, both mother's hunting! Am surprised they were left in the open though. Maybe first time, inexperienced Mum 👏🙏
@ginadeacon9920 - They are siblings - the larger cub is a male. They did not respond at all to the second Lioness, which could suggest the second Lioness was an aunt - otherwise they may have been killed.
@@KrugerParkGameDrives I thought so too, as you say otherwise she wouldn't have let her off. But it did seem she stopped to babysit for a bit. I know Lionesses so strongly protective, Mum wouldn't have liked her getting too involved 😉🤗
100% :)
Those cubs are so emaciated😢
@christianemontazer - Hi Christian. I'm sure the cubs had a good feeding session that night :)
Oh gosh 😱; a major sigh of relief
@GirishJois - For sure! Thanks for watching until the end.
The second lioness was probably an aunt.
Younger cubs always seem so confident, playful and brave, like what they are, Lions. But when they are sightly older, but not juvenile yet, they seem so fragile, cautious and afraid.
@raulishnikovdancer2346 - I have to agree with you. Seems like there is also a "pause" in protecting them. Maybe that is the reason that they have no confidence yet? Thanks Raul.
I like your voice mate. You should do more of these.
Thanks, will do!
Brilliant filming & narration👌. High intelligence shown by all the Lions/cubs. I think🤔 the second female Lion was a relative of the Cubs/pride?
Glad you enjoyed it. Thanks. Yes - it could be their aunt - otherwise she might have killed them :(
They are big enough they should have been introduced to the Aunt already? Isn't this a strange reaction for both parties to not greet each other?
@@DW-op7ly From Lion Documentaries I've watched, it's the Female' temperament/what she perseves as the risk that determines when the Cubs are introduced to the others. There are many other factors of course.
@DW-op7ly - Yes. It was. That is what made it even more tense. The cubs were clearly nervous and the Lioness "cautious" not to get closer. And just as I was about to leave, she(the 2nd Lioness) stood up and left - out of sight,(maybe she moved into some shade) but it was impossible to know for sure as I could not see her at all anymore which obviously made it even more tense! :) Thanks for watching until the end.
@dbache - Yes. Thanks :)
They’re beautiful. !!
Definitely! I think so too. :)
What approximate age are they now ? How old before they start getting mean ?
@mattofbass - Between 4 to 8 months. At around 18 to 24 months they are starting to get "mean" :) Adult lions are between 3 and 8 years old. They are fully grown and are of breeding age - females will often have cubs. Hope this helps?
@@KrugerParkGameDrives Thank You for the info !
@mattofbass - My pleasure :)
I wonder how are they communicating with each other for these young cubs to know not to move from that spot? 😮
@louiswatson6227 - Hi Louis. I did answer the question in another comment here :) Thanks
@KrugerParkGameDrives Thnx, I found the comment & your response but she was only there for a moment and off again and they planted their lil rumps like a tree, we can't even get small children to do that unless there's some type of reward ☺️
@louiswatson6227 - Haha Louis. I will have to agree :) Yeah, that split second was all it took :)
My thought exactly I would never allowed those cubs to be killed so thank you.
@juniorgemini8076 - Yes - they are still so young and innocent. Thanks
It is hard to let nature take it course. It is in such situations I can understand the significance of a zoo. Abandoned animal, injured animals etc.
Poor baby I hope they there mother🙏🏻🙏🏻
You are a good narrator and story teller. I am watching this video very much anxious. My god finally the story is end with happily 😅
Thank you so much! Glad you appreciated it. Thanks for watching until the end.
❤❤❤❤
God bless you sir.
@MirriamSofe-yj9pq - Thank you - and you too sir.
What a beautiful cubs just waiting for their mother to come back to the very spot she had left them. Abit of dangerous spot as it was very open for any predators to come to. Luckily she came back after 6 hrs prob with food. Other lions wd hv killed them but female walked away prop thinking they r just cubs waiting for their mother etc!!!! Camera man wd hv intervened if it was needed. Thank u too.
Amazing those cubs didn't move an inch so obedient and trusting of mum.
@user-sg9kb5cc2y - Correct, they stayed exactly on the same spot the Lioness told them to stay. Amazing - must be old school? :)
Luckily, no hyenas, leopards or other predators came along, but I got nervous wondering how the lioness was going to react.
@rodentcafeteria - Hi. Yes, very lucky! Even some birds of prey can take small cubs like these. That 2nd Lioness also had my nerves going! :) Thanks for watching until the end.
@@KrugerParkGameDrivesmay be she determined to protect them
@user-ju6ml7hi2t - I hope so too! Thanks
Im so glad that this had a good ending and thank you for letting us know what happened. Yrs sometimes nature get be a bit brutal. Thank goodness this was was not. Im shocked they were in wide open space. Thank you for sharing.
Hell yeah 👍 I agree 🙏 bro ❤️🦁👑
So true! Yes - I agree and was happy too!. You are right - it was strange to leave them in an open space like that with no protection of other pride members. Glad all the Lions were safe. I'm sure I already replied to you but somehow some of my comments keep disappearing?
@@KrugerParkGameDrives wonder why they are disappearing? I enjoy the happy endings, not enough of them, imo.
@buffiesilver - Don't know - must be a KZhead glitch. Yes - I agree :)
I'm so relieved the mom came back for her two babies. Thank God there are men dedicated to the wellbeing of wild animals who live under harsh conditions in in the wildernesses. Waiting for 6hrs to make sure that the two helpless cubs are safe is awesome. Thank you. I love lions nd dogs. Baboons too. Can't stand selfish pple who is collect all wild fruits for sale 6:12 6:12
Strange behaviour; exposing them in the open🤔 dont understand why ppl cant give help to the rare needy cases? ☹🤔 Glad the lioness returned; hope they got some food n are safe. Thanks for sharing; its a wilddddd lion world.
My thoughts exactly. Unfortunately Kruger Park is not a zoo and we have to let nature take it's course.
Great video
Thanks Michael! Glad you enjoyed it.
Lions are highly intelligent by far the smartest cat
Please help to protect these sweet lion cubs please!
We do! :)
Happy ending. Thank you for the complete story

@Kim_Jong_Un_2023 - Hi. Thanks so much! :)
You should be narrator bro you got great voice thanks for the video..👌🦁
@PAVEL-JAKL - Thanks! So nice of you. :)
It's important to help, nature is cruel
Wow 😲 very good for the two cubs 💖👍
@cristinadelemon64 - Yes Christina. Happy ending. Thanks for watching until the end.
beautiful cubs
I think so too!
what made you think the cubs were abandoned? They weren't skinny, not stressed. they look curious. It's very common for lion mamas to leave cubs to go hunt.
@LisaMRoberti - Hi Lisa. Yes, I know. Lionesses leave their cubs to go hunt, but we don't know how long they were alone before she came back and left them again - almost immediately.(abandoned - having been deserted or left.). So it seems to be a good word which fit the situation. Thanks for watching until the end. :)
Great short story 😮🎉
@rv1251 - Thanks! Glad you liked it!
Love that you told end
Thank you. Thanks for watching until the end.
I wonder where had their mother and pride run off too? The cubs were pretty big and usually those size cubs will go with the pride/mother.
@TheeMrsGrinch - Exactly, This was truly a rare sighting. The second Lioness had several fresh blood marks on her. Maybe there was some kind of attempted pride take over? We can only speculate. Thanks for watching until the end.
Wow... how obedient those cubs were !!
@JohannaBarnard-sl4jb - Hi Johanna. Yes, must be old school methods :) Defnitief nie soos ons was nie :)

If I was out there I too would sit & wait make sure the lion🦁cubs were safe until mom came back.
I hope that cub will get their mother so that two cub will be save God pls save the two cub ❤
@jennifercapintog8732 - Hi Jennifer. have you watched until the end?
They were better off in the grass instead of just out there in the open like that though.
@doctorfresh3856 - For sure! I agree.
Too big to fit in my purse👜but I still want them. So cute🥰
@kanegorgeous3046 - 😂😂😂 - Lion cubs are extremely cute :)
The title is misleading. The cubs weren't abandoned, their mother went off to hunt for food, then later returned to them, as lionesses do. 🤷♂️
Hi. If the mom leaves them for an uncertain amount of time, all alone with no other lioness or pride members to look after them, then they are abandoned. Luckily the mother returned to collect them. Thanks for watching.
Oh that's a great video. And thank God for your patience. It should have been very tense for you as well...
@sundaramjeyaraj1524 - Yes it was! Extremely stressful. Thank you for your kind words.
Only about 25% of lion cubs reach adulthood. Dangerous hard world out there.
@billyyank5807 - Hi. Yes, I agree - tough life they have!
If i saw them abandoned like that i would of brought them home with me an treat them well
He's Cubsitting !
@Ehi_kocho - 😂 😂 😂
Nature is greate
It"s amazing how animals communicate
@tdmap2241 - Absolutely! They are currently busy with a program to research how Giraffes communicate. Previously they thought Giraffes did not make a sound but apparently that is not true.
Your voice sounds good. ❤
Thanks 😅
What relief fir the cubs
For sure! And for most of us watching :)
I wonder how the cubs understood their mother wanted them to stay where they were? Some sort of lion language?
Yes - they are not always vocal when communicating. They would not be able to hunt anything :)
All creatures have a form of communication with each other including ants
@ifeyhome - Correct!
6 1/2 mins. of belly crunching, 6 hours WOW!!!
@robinvann6663 - Exactly! Some hart stopping moments in between as I did not know if a Hyena, Jackal or even a Python will show up and/or what the second Lioness would do. Stressful but so worth it! Thanks for watching until the end :)
Is it common for cubs to stay in an open area like that?
@mattshatt7386 Hi. No - not at all. Even birds of prey can attack them at that stage. This was out of the ordinary, specially without the rest of the pride. Jackals, Hyenas and Leopards are also known to attack and kill cubs which are on their own. Thanks for watching until the end.
