The adorable lion cubs seem happy and carefree, but life is tough for these cubs. Up to 80% of lion cubs will die before the age of two. And those who survive to adulthood still need to be protected to prevent extinction.

  • Mom lioness is awesome. The Father is near by and is the main protector of the pride. The Cubs will know him. They ❤each other and will give their lives for the cubs. Dad will lead the way. It's in their nature. ❤❤

    • Most often they do. Male lions are not part of the Pride, which consists of mothers, daughters, aunts and babies. The male lion is typically part of a coalition of two to five males, defending territory and breeding when they can. They spend most of their time away from the pride.

  • Lions are actually some of the most patient animals. They actually process a lot of information in thought. I been noticing when it comes to cubs, they kind of let them figure out stuff before they intervene, unlike humans. We force our way, then wait for children to respond to what we want to see, and if they don't we get upset

  • Being a Lioness is a big job because she has to carry, birth the babies, and tend to them alone for weeks. Then she has to help catch the food, be a peacemaker, etc. However, I still wouldn’t want the Male’s job, because he has to fight the rest of his life to have a family!

    • That's why she's called the Queen (the Lioness) and her husband as the King (the Lion). Both the males and females patrol their territory. Once they mate together, the males take over guarding the perimeter, the females and the cubs.

  • Wrong information, the mother's have anywhere from 1-6 cubs in a litter, not 1-4. I've seen many who've had 6 in one litter.
