  • Some feedback on the video, which otherwise was very good: 1) You need to mention the charging curve, not just the top speed. It makes a huge difference if it can hold 160kw for 30 seconds or 20 minutes. 2) Don't forget to mention whether or not it has battery preconditioning for DC charging.

    @sebastiansandvik825@sebastiansandvik8252 ай бұрын
    • Charge curve is summed up by the duration it takes to charge from 20 to 80%, as all manufacturers mention now

  • So... you didn't like the car, then? Because I honestly haven't seen the review of ANY car in years when the tester "casually tried" to state so many "flaws" and complaints about the car as in this one! I'm amazed that you didn't complain about the level of its tire pressure....

  • Range is not so impressive when you factor in the huge battery, too many manufacturers are just lazily increasing the battery size rather than focusing on efficiency. I actually like Peugeot and French car design in general but no way would I buy that over at a premium over the Model Y.

    • They had to keep the boxy style of the 3008, they still maxed out efficiency while keeping the shape, it was everything but lazy And you get more range then the model Y

    • Yeah, I’d take smaller battery, quick charging and a much lower price than this really. Battery sizes are getting excessive when you could get much more fun and efficiency out of a lighter package.

    • Tesla and BYD and MG and Polestar are bringing cars that have a lot less weight on superfluous stuff (stellantis = too much focus on complicated design, too less focus on optimization) and focus on real good stuff. I see Peugeot for example: they complicate a lot the design that when people step in, it’s too confusing! Tesla and polestar for example, have a clean uncomplicated design and a very good engine/battery/software and that is what matters! They should’ve had a cleaner lighter design to be lighter, cheaper, improve performance, inside space and…why FWD instead of RWD?! It makes the car less agile!

      @ricarmig@ricarmigАй бұрын
    • @@ricarmig Yes and no. They had to keep the boxy shape because its a sucessor to the 3008. But if you look at other brands, like alfa romeo, chrysler, dodge, fiat, Leapmotor (if you count it as a stellantis brand) and maserati, all of them have more curvy and aerodynamic designs. Lancia is likely to make less boxy shapes to, stellantis has a lot of brands and a lot of fans. So they can eithout much problems make multiple shapes for whats basicly the same car

  • It's about time the WLTP method of assessing range was reworked because the figures it provides are becoming meaningless. I am a huge fan of EVs and am on my second one but there is no way on earth that a square box weighing 2t+ with a 98kwh battery underneath it is going to get anywhere near 430 miles at 4.4 miles per kwh. Kia are one of the class leaders in efficiency but the smaller and very efficient Niro gets real world 4m/kwh. This huge blob ain't beating that by 10% - just not happening. It is likely to be 300 miles in winter and no more than 340 in summer.

    @Richard-io9xe@Richard-io9xe2 ай бұрын
    • I agree they could be more pessimistic (more like America's EPA) but as with MPG estimates they can only do so much, too many factors can effect range - driving style, weather, how much weight you are carrying, what tyres you have on the car, etc - it's almost impossible to give anything other than vague "it's probably about X"

You can go at Max speed, in winter, and use only 60% and it still will give you more then 60 miles The car has an oficial range for different conditions, the 435 is an average in average conditions. It can do more or less depending on how you drive But in NO WAY, will the range be reduced to 100 miles Lastly, you don't need to use only 20-80%, you can charge to 100%. • Its simple, just avoid these first generation BEVs, go hybrid and wait for a meaningful jump in battery tech, weight and price, then things start looking interesting. PS: Model Y has one of the worst rides ive experienced from a new car.

  • Okay, I am heartened to see the option of more range, but disappointed to note that once again - it’s jam tomorrow. By the time this long range option comes out. I would not be surprised if Tesla has beaten it anyway.

    • The car will launch this year...Tesla doesn't even know when their 25k model will come... You get more range, waranty and features for the same price. How is the model Y better??

      @joaquimbarbosa896@joaquimbarbosa896Ай бұрын
    • @@joaquimbarbosa896 I suspect Tesla know exactly when their 25k model will arrive, you don't - that is true. One thing the Model Y has is it is actually on sale and you can buy one and it has more range than the Peugeot currently available. And a Frunk. Stuffing a car with batteries is one way to increase range, a very expensive one, but an option. This vehicle has less horsepower with less acceleration and not sure where you think the warranty is better - maybe it depends on the country you are in, because it sure isn't the case where I am. And I had a massive dust up with Peugeot over warranty concerning a 2014 2008 I once owned. Never again. I am afraid the dealerships were truly appalling as well. Maybe things are better now - they could not be any worse. At the moment I am also part of a group action suing Peugeot for their version of dieselgate. I am glad they are working on EVs but don't for one second fool yourself that anything by Stellantis is better than Tesla.

  • I feel like Peugeot missed an opportunity here. Why wasn’t this called the 4008? And then we can have a more traditionally shaped 3008 like the outgoing generation. They’d essentially be the same car but it would appeal to more buyers. Not everyone wants a coupé-like SUV.

We've had front boots in 911's and Beetles since long before Musk was even born......... NO Tesla fanboys - he did NOT invent the concept of a front boot (even a Ferrari 308 from the 70's had two boots front and rear!). 👍

  • RWD EVs are better than FWD versions.. This should be aligned to compete with the Scenic. That has an 87kwh pack for £41k. Lots of manufacturers are overpricing their EVs but Stellantis appear to be major repeat offenders.. Do remember that the entry level Model Y has a much smaller battery, About 15kwh smaller. Having said that, it will be more efficient and have access to the Superchargers.

    • It costs basicly the same with 100km less range, and the peugeot is arguably better looking with 8 years of waranty. Also Tesla chargers in Europe aren't that dominant, so not a major factor

  • Its getting more difficult to have a smooth ride in an EV due to the massive weight of these behemoths. Trouble is to get the range (don't forget to reduce manufactures figure by 30%) they go and stick in bigger (heavier) batteries. Do we honestly think that thing would last 10 years - its all too flimsy.

Not only will you have to pay VED from 2025 but you have to pay roughly £390 annually for 5 years!!! So after 2025 you will be paying over £500 roughly per year if they don’t increase the VED
