Wow I love the look of the rounded headlights it reminds me of the FJ cruiser.
@@Il.Livorno.Volante Yep. Absolutely. To me it looks like an updated 4 door FJ Cruiser. I see all the Toyota fans, which I am as well, not calling this out to what it truly is NOT, and that's a Land Cruiser. Everyone is so accepting of this new Land Cruiser. This is what the 4Runner should be. The LC should be a 7-8 seater or at least have the option for more seating. It should also not be a Hybrid. I know this is the route manufacturers are taking. They have been given ultimatums on how "green" they are allowed to be and that sucks for us. Even as reliable as Toyota's are and have been they can't overcome the potential issues of turbo, direct injection engines and hybrid technology. Not a good combination for off-roading and long life reliability (or more preventative maintenance). The 3.5L NA V6 with direct and port injection would have been a better solution for this off-roader or even a NA I4 like the new Prado will get overseas. I guess, and hope, they are saving that for the 4Runner. Maybe that will be a base engine and the hybrid I4T will be an optional engine. This LC will no longer be the bullet proof off-roader it once was, at least not the US version. Toyota should of just called it the LC Prado like the ROW Land Cruisers. I still like it, just not what is under the hood. I like that there is a base version, just like the 300 series LC overseas, and that there is an upscale trim that still can be optioned out, but where are those extra seats? I understand the argument that most "overlanders" remove the seats and that's good for them. They are a small percentage of LC buyers. Just like the new GX550, there should be seating options. But since they put that hybrid non-sense in it, the batteries take up that space. I guess I'll have to wait to see what the 4Runner will become. If it doesn't have an NA eng. option, I'll be back in the used LC or GX460 market. Hopefully this new let down of a LC will not cause those prices to skyrocket! I currently own and have owned 3 other Toyota products, 2004 T4R 4x4 4.7L V8, 2008 FJ Cruiser 4x4 OR, 2018 T4R 4x4 TRD OR and current is a 2017 Lexus GS 350. Dig them all and ready for another, it just won't be a new Land Cruiser...
Oh man, gone is the beloved split tailgate. It was nice to be able to put it down and have a nice place to sit in the back.
For those who don't know this is the essentially the Prado (J250) since the bigger 300 series isn't available for America
LC300 exist in the US in the form of LX600.
you're right, this is the all new prado lc250 (the last model was lc150) which we have been waiting for 13 entire years.
@@boomee78but yes. Really. The LX 600 is a LC300 in some fancy clothes.
Really? Looks more like a brick on wheels to me.
I LOVE IT.
good review. happy to see the diversity of the platform. also happy that it came back...to some degree!
Wow! It’s back on US road again!❤🎉
Looking forward to seeing this one on your off road course!
Looks awesome, great work Toyota
Great video! Thanks as always!
Heck yes!!!!!! I am so excited for this!!!
Ryan, I think they have a winner if they can actually SUPPLY it to the market .
This is exactly what I've been waiting for to start my overland build.
They should offer straight 6 cylinder non turbo.
Can't wait to see it on the off road course! Also, would love it if you would do a noise test at 80 mph with a decibel meter inside the cabin for all your vehicle tests - wind direction and speed would make it hard to directly compare but at least we would have something measurable.
As much as I love my FJ Cruiser, I am really liking this new Land Cruiser, and could probably complement it, instead of replacing it. I have always wanted 4 doors, way better MPG (mine gets 15) and bigger gas tank for road trips (FJ is 17 gallons). The baby blue color is very cool.
Same. If I was gonna drive something other than my FJ, this would be it. It also seems to have less blind spots.
That would be such an amazing two car garage!
Man that blue is GORGEOUS! It looks like a fan made render. It’s sooooo good.
“I love the fact that we have a step here… so you can eeEEGHsily get to your equipment in the back” 😂
Oh man, I'm loving this car and was considering a 79 series however I'll wait for this.
I was waiting for the new 4Runner and definitely didn’t expect this. I’m definitely going the Land Cruiser route!
Love the base trim with manual cloth seats and more reasonable price! Wish it towed more. Wish we were getting the 300 series as well
I mean 6000lbs is still a decent amount but I feel that.
Gorgeous, has fj cruiser looks too
The rounded headlights look so cool
Looks cool, welcome back to US Land Cruiser!
Straight 🔥 🔥🔥🔥 box look 👌 love it
I never thought this day would come
Just a reminder 2023 GX 460 base starts at 59k with a 4.6 V8 and is very nicely equipped. The new base Land Cruiser is starting at “mid 50’s” with a turbo 4 and cloth seats? What is Toyota thinking?
They're thinking exactly what this review is hyping--LAND CRUISER OMG OMG OMG LAND CRUISER...
2023 GX is a bargain compared to most new models. Base model LC at 55K seems reasonable these days, however lack of swaybar disconnect is a major drawback for that trim. Next trim up is at least $10K more
Sweet! Looks Awesome!
Welcome back Land Cruiser - you've been missed
These will be reasonably priced at 50k over MSRP.
😂
Can’t wait to see the review! Also, I’m very curious to see what they do with the 4Runner.
This was supposed to be the 4runner
My guess is this is a 4Runner replacement. There is no info on the new 4Runner, plus the Toyota body on frame stable is getting very crowded.
@@rustleseethis is too expensive to replace the 4Runner. Land Cruiser base is 55k. 4Runner starts about 40k. The 4Runner is reportedly going to basically be the suv version of the new Tacoma.
I’m in love already ❤❤
I’m still love my 5th 4runner and the land cruiser 2021 model year.
Greetings from southern Ontario Canada I really enjoyed the video looking forward to seeing this sport utility vehicle without the V6
Can't Wait! The blue is definitely my favorite color.
I would love that Prado you showed in this video. Lov❤
THESE IS WHAT I WANTED! I have always been an old Tacoma; 4runner owner and lover, but now this vehicle ( most the ‘base trim’ ) resembles some sort of old school Toyota we have always wanted, I will buy one! This truck will be sold 🤜🤛👏👏👏
The square light version looks so good
Man they knocked it out of the park. That base trim is what I want. Please take my money 💰
Hey Ryan, best review of all youtubers. You were the only one mention the Prado at the beginning. And this is actually the Land Cruiser Prado/250. And in several markets it's offered with a 2.8 liter Diesel and optional 7 seats. This is also why the floor in the trunk is high (exactley like in the previous LC 150/Prado).
Sick design. Love it. Probably can’t afford one, but very nice!
Thank you!
Looks good!!
Im digging the massive 80's vibes
Yes I like it, we get a smaller LC with an entry level option, love that manual tailgate although I wish the clamshell was put in this one. I like it we get options now on a LC with different pricing like the rest of the world instead of 1 overpriced model.
Exactly this. I never wanted leather seats and stupid auto everything. I want a base trim that will take me around the world. Period. Toyota got their brain back on this one. Hallelujah.
If anything this gets me really exciting for the next generation 4Runner!
Big fan of the rugged look.
Epic ride
so excited for this car- hope it lives up to the name
Really looking forward to these becoming available and seeing them in the wild! Is it odd that I actually prefer the "bargain basement version"? It comes with all of the off-road features I want without the over-the-top luxury features that are generally spec'd on LCs. Or maybe it's the 50k price point, if I can get my hands on one!
Definitely not odd. You might be a Land Cruiser purist and not even know it. What you call the "bargain basement" version is basiclly the spirit of the Land Cruiser. If you look at the rest of the world where Land Cruisers are deployed, they're completely stripped down and prioritize one thing: Get people in and out of precarious situations as quickly and as safely as possible.
I like the basic model to if the would just add the surround view.
@@fantinuum1040 8.3" ground clearance is pathetic. My wife's Crosstrek has more than that! LOL
@@steve8803 Okay, so 8.7 inches of stock ground clearance on your wife's Crosstrek makes the Subaru a fully capable monster truck? That's less than half an inch more. On top of that, anyone who buys a Land Cruiser is going to change out the tires, which will easily increase the ground clearance. And good luck with the Crosstrek's overhang, approach angle, breakover angle, and departure angle.
@@fantinuum1040 I simply stated a fact.
New 4Runner will identify itself as a tough looking RAV4
Actually, I think a body on frame vehicle the size of the RAV4 that can actually go off road would be pretty cool in my book.
Love it!!! Already have my name in for a 1958!
Woooohoooooo!!! Love it!
Love this truck. I think I want one.
Big Toyota fan, this is a winner!
Wish there were more engine options
love the design.👍👍👍
It’s a beauty. It’s an fj body with improved and tech inside.
This is my favor channel now, all cars off road :)
Thanx for video! But how you will call TLC300 if this was a Land cruiser?
this is what i thought the new 4runner would be
It could be just that.
those power figures change when the hybrid battery goes and your on just gas or does the gas system charge the batts ?
Bummer the iconic split tail gate is gone!! the new model 4Runner will lose the rear up and down window too.
New Prado SUPER!!! ❤
Love it 😍
I picked the the thirty v8 2021 LC in a heartbeat
No 3rd row, a reduced trunk from the battery, only 6k towing and a swing up tailgate is a huge mistake. All for the low low price of 55k starting no less. I’m sure some people are fine with all of it but it lost me.
This is pretty much what I imagined the new 4Runner would be. Now we have to wait to see if the 4Runner will just be a slightly smaller version of this, or if it's something different.
i want to ask a question... is power lift gates that important to you ?
Great Video, When are you going to get your hands on a 2024 Ford Ranger?
Love at first sight.
GREAT. BUT please bring back the horizontally-split rear tail-gate: so practical and convenient.
Finally an attainable Land Cruiser for the masses. I like the differences in trim levels, the size is just right, and that back end is just 👌 I didn't like the back at first but if you squint it looks like the 80 series back end, then that'll be all you see trust me.
Dont worry, Dealers will make sure its non-attainable with markups by the time when its launched
@@arunrajkaprakattu8227Exactly what I was thinking. This is going to be unattainable. Welcome to the next 100k LC base because they added "tint".
With the Land Cruiser being smaller and less expensive it will be interesting to see what Toyota does with new version of the 4Runner.
Probably discontinue because they been pulling the same model for the past 14 years.
RIP 4Runner, you had a good run❤
This is going to be a big hit for Toyota.
Does this have power folding mirrors like the Lexus GX550 ?
I'll take one in Army Green. Thanks!
my dream car!so beautiful!
love the base model.
It’s a great looking vehicle for the segment. I’m sure Toyota will sell them by the hundreds of thousands. A home run in American market. Curious to see the mileage figures.
Is it the same engine and gearbox for tacoma 2024 ?
Can someone please explain the wheel offset? It looks rather wide, and the wheel lugs stick out more than the wheel does. Why would they do that?
I like how easy it is to replace the headlights yourself like Lego.
This is really a “baby” Land Cruiser, but it looks great. I was initially skeptical about the 4cyl, but a mechanic friend of mine reminded me about the great torque. My only wish would be a split tailgate. 4runner will really have its work cut out for it to slot below the new LC and not be a lesser version of the last generation.
Awww Jeeze! Been a toy fan for A L O N G T I M E ! ! I cannot wait till we get to drive it, at ANY Trim level. thanks for the first look.
love love love love
What a lovelly toyota land cruiser ❤
Design is much better, than it was before.
I was looking to go full electric or new hybrid Accord, but now I know what I’m trading in my 22 pilot for in 2024! These things are about to sell like MAD!! This sexy beast! 😍 I’m excited!
Is will be prado 2 doors ??
I like the front of the cheaper version better than the more expensive version.
Looks great but does it have a center locking torsen differential and rear locker?
Good question. We’ll check on that! 😂
I’m so excited I made my wife watch this 😂😂
For the American viewers, this is the new Prado as we call it in Australia, it isnt the 300 series, you'll still need to upgrade to the large lexus for that one. And youre completely missing out by not having the diesel option.
Looks fantastic. What i dont like is the rear door, spare underneath and high floor in the back. Would much rather a side opening rear door with spare mounted on it, and the extra cargo area.
I agree
I love it, though I wish they had put the tire on the back instead of underneath the chassis, seems like you. really lose a lot of cargo space with the battery storage bay
do yah think the upcoming 4runner will maybe get a manual transmission option and maybe a removal roof? love the land crusier btw!
Fingers crossed
Mmm, that bronze LC looks lovely. Between this and the GX550 it sometimes comes down to the service at the Shop. We’ve experienced both, and my wife would never choose this beauty of a Land Cruiser 😔 (Maybe I can get a knew one. 😜)
I wanna know whats uo with the third row??
Started as the 4Runner redesign and then pivoted and rebadged as the Land Cruiser. Hopefully we get the manual transfer case and MTS and KDSS in the new 4Runner.
I was going to say, if Toyota had just called this the new 4runner, would anyone know?
Looks like the more affordable version of the new Lexus GX! I always thought that the Land Cruiser was more of a discount version of the Lexus LX in the past. But now they have moved it down a little bit, which is great because now it’s more affordable.
