Well, I wouldn't conclude anything from this...only that you all had a wonderful time😉... which is totally OK. Negative points for certain cars are more connected with driver's mistakes, and mounted tyres. My "feeling" is that Jimny seems most capable and both of those two stalls happened by driver's mistake (second one seems to be related with ice polished part of the tracks where he couldn't get enough grip. GLC's driver seems to have handled the car within the limits and used torque, grip and car's capabilities to the best 👍
agree, also place where Dacia lost first point, driver chose the inner side of the curve which was steepest to climb and in second time the outer curve, which went fine, just like the other 2 cars. But for sure you guys had fun on the road :)
I knew from the beginning the winner. GLC cost 3 times the other cars, which means much more technology on board. It's not the pilot, its the all the stuff behind, electronic torque and grip control that makes the difference, as well as the weight
@@cosedan your answer is pretty much nonsense.. the most important thing is the tyres, second thing is weight of the car, the heavier it is, the more difficult it will be to climb as you need more grip. These tests should be always done as similar conditions as possible, same tyres, same climbing speed in the beginning, same driver etc.. greetings from Finland with 30+ years driving experience in snow and ice.. here another video where Dacia basically beating Audi Q7 - price difference is? I agree, there are some trails where the Mercedes wouldn't dare to enter, and if the Duster enters, it will get bogged, but the Jimny would still be rolling on. And for the price of the Duster you can buy 2 or 3 Jimnies, and for the price of the Mercedes I don't even want to do the maths. So after all you are more brave to enter rough trails with the Jimny and it will give you much more fun offroad.
@@laszlolorantfeher1957 In my country the starting price of the Jimmy is the full option 4x4 1,5 Duster. So 2,3 Jimmies for a Duster is just not true
Just went for a test drive with a Duster today. I just might buy one, seemed just fine. Tested it to 145km/h and I must say that it is definately not as noisy as all the reviews say.

Yo tendo uno y va de maravilla, los mercedes son un tongo fallan más que una escopeta de feria, pero llevo uno soy lo más, que pena como te manejan disfruta de tu carro, llevale a cambiar el aceite a la casa y me lo cuentas, por que si no vas a la casa es que te gusta aparentar y tu ego te puede.
The engine of Jimny is not powerful, but Jimny is the best offroader.
1.La curba aceea unde dusterul si jimmy au piedut cate un punct, mercedesul a luat curba larga. Cand au luat si ei curba larga au urcat fara problema. Trebuie sa puneti si mercedesul sa ia curba stransa. 2. Spre final cand se "jucau" in zapada mercedesul nu a reusit sa ia curba la stanga, a facut la dreapta si a dat cu spatele. Imi pare rau dar ati fost subiectivi cu mercedesul.
Da Mercedesul era aproape de relantiu și Dusterul la 4.000 de ture am auzit !😂😂😂

in clip s-a vazut de multe ori cum mercedesul a fost ocrotit spre deosebire de restul...adica nu a fost bagat peste tot ca celelalte ...ba a facut curbe mai lungi, etc ...

The Duster driver wasn't really doing his best, the Jimny looks like the most capable car and the driver only made a couple of mistakes, the Mercedes was having a hard time with its "fake" awd but the driver was able to exploit its potential to the fullest.
Jimny się capable only in forest off road. Car is close to beeing usless on highway and in the fast city driving
@@zepter00 Of course, it's a small off roader built for light off road work. The people I know that use a Jimny have it to go hunting.
the reason Duster was third was bad driving the idea is not to brake traction not just get the wheels spinning as fast as will go

The Duster is beast ....its a law unto itself in snow and mud .....my friend has the 2022 entry level model front wheel drive ...where we live there is a long steep hill to get up into our street .....last year we had quite heavy snowfall and nothing makes it up this hill in snow ..there was all sorts of " all wheel drive" model cars stuck at the bottom ...my friends 2 wheel drive Duster flew up this hill like it was nothing ..amazing cars..

That's what I ask myself. If the driver of the Duster had chosen the most logical path, he would have done just as well as the Mercedes. But he preferred to play the idiot and was too clever. Eso mismo me pregunto yo. Si el conductor del Duster hubiera elegido el camino más lógico, lo habrÍa hecho igual de bien que el Mercedes. Pero prefirió hacer el mongolo y se pasó de listo.
@@TAER75 Zudem hat der Duster Fahrer viel zu viel Gas gegeben, drehen die Räder erstmal durch, reißt die Haftung der Reifen ab und es ist aus, im Schnee sollte man immer mit möglichst wenig Leistung fahren, so das die Reifen nicht die Haftung verlieren. Fahre selber einen modifizierten VW Tiguan, bin mit dem Tiguan noch nie irgendwo stecken geblieben.

Șoferul Daciei a greșit voit! Curbă abordată pe traiectorie aiurea, ceea ce a condus unde tebuia. Mercedes pe locul 1. Bine! Mercedes este peste Duster, cel puțin din punct de vedere al dotărilor și sigur al prețului dar, nu era nevoie de șmecheria asta deplorabilă ca mașina germană să câștige! Oricum, este în clasa premium!

8:30 was not fair because suzuki and dacia took harder lines than Mercedes.
Der Vergleich ist doch total fair, lass nur den Preis und die Technik weg.
Why the Mercedes and the Suzuki always runs where the Duster has already made up the way? in a road full of snow, the first car makes the path and the others following have a easier work to do. Looking at this video I for would choose the Duster for sure between the three, just concerning how to approach a road full of snow.

Thanks, fine test! However, in such tests, it should be mentioned (or even better - taken into consideration) for each car: 1. Power of each car (KM) divided by the weight (KM/kg), 2. Torque - very important! (Nm) and divided by weight (Nm/kg), 3. Pressure on the ground (weight divided by area of tires (kg/cm2). GLS have for sure the biggest power and torque. Can the author of the video give these parameters? Each hill should be overtaken in different order (the 1st car can make it slippery on the hill, and the 2nd and 3rd car will have more problems. Or in the muddy ground - the 1st car have the easiest way). And very important - the drivers should not see how the previous driver conquered the hill, because when the first did something wrong - the second one will not do the same mistake. In this video Duster was mostly the 1st one, GLC second, Jimny 3rd.

David gegen Goliath, beschämend für eine Nobelmarke finde ich. Duster und co können mit viel viel weniger ganz gut mithalten, darf man nicht übersehen bei den Preisen. Aber ist ok, ich nehme das einfach mal so hin bei diesen Vergleich😅.

Ma interesează un GLE 350 plugin hybrid, însă am înțeles ca aceste modele PHEV nu au lot offroad. Din testele pe care le-ai făcut, crezi ca fără acest kit, Merc s-ar descurca la fel de bine pe zăpada, ploaie, nisip ? Sau sa renunț la PHEV și sa iau MHeV cu kit offroad ?

@@VirgilPascu yes it has in the Dynamic select option. Lifts the air suspension, gearbox setup etc. Dont know if you can get full offroad package.

Dar tu cănd mergi cu mașina cum faci mergi prin canal sau mergi pe stradă,eu am văzut mercedesul să meargă pe stradă și celelalte nu prea au găsit-o în câteva curbe,vă e ciudă maxim că mercedesul merge la relanti😂

E vorba despre cuplu, cele doua autoturisme sunt relativ noi(Mercedes si Duster), cu multiple functii asistate. Jimny este depasit..luati varianta mai apropiata,mai recenta la test drive, si nu in ultimul rand soferul, nu stie cum sa incalece..a luat deseori virajul in mod eronat. Mersi!
Jimny trebuia sa ii bata detasat in conditiile date.

este mai scump si isi permit sa plateasca reclame. Totusi, e pe bani prostilor care pun botul la astfel de competitii aranjate. Soferul dusterului a calcat acceleratia ca melteanu, nici cea mai scumpa masina nu l-ar fi ajutat sa castige. Condus corect, dusterul castiga fara probleme.
Ce vină are soferul Mercedesului că ceilalți au mers pe lângă drum,sunteți de tot râsu,Glc-ul a mers la relanti tot traseul,masină aproape nouă cu 20k km vreți să meargă blană pe drumurile alea forestiere,Suv-urile din ziua de azi sunt făcute mai mult pentru oraș nicidecum pentru drumuri accidentate,spoilere cromate,păi dacă mergea blană ca duster și jimny ajungea chel acasa mercedesul😀

Trebuie sa sti sa si conduci in asemenea conditii! E ceva ce se invata in timp, din proprie experienta si nu se preda in scoli!
Aici te contrazic Nu în școlile de șoferi se preda.Cu toate că ar trebui sa se predea Aceste chestia se învață la Academia Titi Aur Unde in urma unor taxe,se învață tot ce trebuie sa ști de conducerea pe zăpadă.Si nu numai.Si in special este vorba de conducerea defensiva.Daca aceste chestii ar fi predate în școlile de șoferi(cum ar fi normal),multe accidente ar fi evitate.Din păcate mulți instructori nu știu nici pt ei,ce sa m-ai predea și la alții În cadrul acestei academii înveți cum sa efectuezi corect o frana de motor,,cum sa desenezi cu ABS și fără,cum sa redresezi o mașină care a intrat în derapaj(subtitrare sau suoravurare)și ținând cont de construcția masinn-tractiune fara,tracțiune spate,integrala Iar la tracțiunea integrală ar fi mai multe de discutat în funcție de tipul acesteia. cum să eviți un obstacol pe zăpadă,polei,etc Așa că majoritatea instructorilor ar trebui să meargă la cursuri de reciclare și pe urma să învețe pe altii

how unfair can you make something if you do such a test you have to make them ALL DO THE SAME AND NOT DRIVE THE JIMMY AND DUSTER THROUGH THE SNOW AND THE GLC ON THE ROAD
Drivers are ignorants likes the cars. We have understood. Only Glc driver is good and elegant.

Looks like the Jimny only had M+S tyres on not winters. That will be the difference.
As impressive als the GLC did, considering its weight and lack of ground clearance, on the really icy parts you do see its limits. Weight is never good, when going abroad. So, why not show some curvy downhill passages, where the GLC has to show its breaking/slipping/sliding behaviour? The Duster does pretty well and shows that it will do the job for a typical ski holiday. The Jimny - did the driver activate the locks in time?!?! I am aware that an ESC/ESP + the many steps of the GLC transmission + torque can handle driving off the steep part somewhat more sensible, than 100% locked tires + 1 fixed gears + playing with the clutch. But the latter one should work without overheating or extra maintenance over many years in even more bad situations, especially when using offroad tires, that are probably not even available/allowed for the GLC (due to tempo limitations). So, this test is a nice show-off, but of limited message. If some rich family from town goes on winter holiday, the GLC is a perfect tradeoff, but the Duster will do, if the driver knows how to handle it.

@@zepter00 Power cannot replace low weight, when going offroad. The moment, a vehicle loses grip, it doesn't matter whether it got 100hp or 300hp. But the car with 2200kg will start slipping when the 1300kg still goes on (with comparable tires and dimensions)
The 5th test is wrong. the GLC doesn't drive in the same way that duster and jimmy. if GLC try to drive inside the turn, is stay on place

Not a good comparison...cars are driven differently, and they are taking different tracks in the ground. GLC is being driven with a steady foot always, and it is the driver competence that is giving it the edge..not the machine itself. The mechanics of friction and differential physics is basic technology....money does not obviate optimum engineering.
