Ray-Ban Meta Glasses are amazing! You have to own a pair to actually understand how it works and appreciate it. My only complaint is the battery but I bring my case and my extra glasses with me everywhere I go. Making memories is so much easier and fun! I highly recommend. Maybe the next version will have a bigger battery 😎
When my daughter played back video I took with my Meta Smart Glasses, because of the first person viewpoint, she said, "It is like I get to be dad for a while". It made me think... I have an old audio file of my now departed father leaving me a message which I play back from time to time to reconnect with him. What videos could I gather that I could gift back to my daughter for now but ultimately for that day in the future when I won't be here? We live in exciting times and the Smart Glasses make me think differently about how I grab and save memories.
My daughters 3 and you’ve made me think, I just got Vision Pro and they’ve been in Mexico but I can’t wait to start capturing spatial video clips and photos with them! Have you tried the demo? Highly recommend
@@marcsequenceI don't have the Vision Pro but I am thrilled that I can view the Spatial Videos I am capturing in my iPhone 15 Pro on my Meta headset. It takes some time to capture it right (foreground elements work best) and it is still weird pulling my phone out during intimate family moments but it is a real investment into the future! Viewing today's videos in 10 years will be a revelation. The Meta Smart Glasses, although not spatial do allow you to capture more candid moments since the subjects don't necessarily see you filming so they act much more naturally.
I love my prescription meta ray bans, no one has ever noticed them. I have recorded soooo many cool videos with them, I already wear glasses every day so I figured why not pick them up. The meta AI is actually super useful too, overall I've been very happy with them. Can't wait till we get smart glasses in a similar form factor with a screen/AR! We're living in the future 🤓
I guess It's not gonna be safe to use public bathrooms anymore sigh
So just an fyi if you have an iPhone 15 Pro and record spacial videos Meta Quest 3 also plays them back in 3D. I’m not sure why you don’t mention that when you’re talking about the price. You additionally need to have an iPhone 15 Pro regardless of the headset you use for playback. Also I use the Meta Raybands as prescription glasses and just put a smaller pair of spare glasses in the same meta case for swapping. I find more substantial memories I will record spacial videos but not near as many as the raybans.
The biggest thing holding me back from the Meta glasses, other than the fact that I rarely actually wear my regular glasses, is that aspect ratio. I'd rather have something that is landscape or square, or something much wider. I guess I don't capture or watch a lot of vertical videos, so maybe I'm not their target market. I like the idea of having audio baked into the glasses though.
Comparing Apples with Grapes
What I would like to see Apple implement with it's "Spatial Videos" is an stabilization format that moves the "window" of the video around in 3D space within the Vision Pro as you move your phone around. That would keep the "world" frozen in place even though your camera, at the time, wasn't. This would be easy enough to implement, and could easily be turned on or off based on your needs, but I think would really add a lot of value to the format.
What if I have progressive lenses for my glasses? Can you get the prescription for Metas glasses with progressive lenses and still do well with them?
I want the Meta RayBans. Pity it's only available in the US?
CNET: "You can afford both!" Me: "Cool, you going to give me money?"
My thought exactly.
It was not long ago tech company stayed clear of glasses with cameras, citing privacy concerns. Anyone who possessed these was seen as a creep immediately. "They have camera glasses, well of course its to take questionable pictures/ videos". I'm curious what changed.
old people who are scared of every new technology not being the prominent group anymore is what changed... Your being recorded everywhere get over it.
It’s pretty obvious that AR glasses are the future. Not sure why Apple went with a bulky headset first 🤷♂️
It is insane to compare glasses with speakers and cameras to a $4,000 headset.
Wasnt google glass trashed for recording video? People felt creeped on. How is this any differnt?
Can you compare Meta Glasses with XReal Air 2 Ultra?
love your polka dot polo
The site even says “ultra wide video” and they updated the sharpness and called it v2.0 for the update. I ordered them but I feel like a big part of them is the ai
Why not talk about special video playback in the much cheaper Meta Quest 3?
I hope they make meta more available in asia. Very difficult to get a hold on this tech.
Very interesting products
i’m too concerned about my avp getting damaged when out and about so i use iphone to record and watch the recording using avp what a hassle
That's a better method, anyway. It's not particularly convenient to shoot your video with your video viewer. It's better to use the device you carry with you anyway.
Rayban glass has replaced my Airpod Pro. Yes, I'm compromising the sound quality but it's way better to have open ear sound system. Downsize is, it's terrible in noisy environment. But I'm really happy with rayban glasses. Airpod pro has been acting weird lately, not charging both pods and constantly connecting back in forth with my phone and mac, I was so frustrated with it. One of the best feature of rayban meta glasses is you can start conversation with either meta AI or ChatGPT AI. Freaking awesome. Video and Camera quality is almost iphone 8/10 level but horrible at night.
How did you get ChatGPT on them? I just picked up a pair.
@@andyvaldez4334 I use Iphone 15 which has the action button. I assigned the Action button as Chat GPT Voice command and just after clicking it I can start talking with GPT AI.
@@andyvaldez4334 With iphone 15, assigned action button to chatgpt voice assistant. I can just press the button and directly start talking with Ai through glass.
Wow Scott, lookin thin man. Congrats bro!
first the got our data now they want our memories
When looking through the Apple Vision Pro it reminds me of looking through Being John Malkovich 😅
I thought those were his real glasses
2:53 That jitter/stutter or just really low framerate right here about makes me sick. That looks abysmal. Anything under 120 Hz/FPS is sub-par for truly "capturing memories," in my opinion.
3d video. You know what would be good...... A 3d tv to watch the content on..... oh wait ...... 🤣🤣
Next week on CNET: Broom vs. Mug. Which One Should you Buy?
Clickbait! It was not a comparison video at all. It was just a take on Meta Glasses. Wasted my 5 minutes.
He literally did exactly what the headline says.. compared the memory capturing capabilities of both lol
So spy glasses
Vertical video is just tacky
I will never trust Meta for anything
All I could think of is Elephants in the room... (meta data scraping and pedophiles)
1:44 Landscape orientation is the proper way to record videos. The human field of vision is horizontal. NOT vertical. TV's at home are horizontal. Monitors at home are horizontal and only some of them have the option of rotating to vertical view for productivity purposes. Nobody with a working brain wants to relive a memory via a 3D video in VERTICAL orientation. It's way too restrictive and you get black bars on the sides when watching it on a horizontal display. 🤮🤮🤮👎👎👎 Horizontal is THE way to record.
Portrait video should be banned by law
