World's Fastest V-Bottom | Factory Billet

Since 2017, Factory Billet, the one-of-a-kind, 51-foot, canopied Outerlimits Offshore Powerboats V-bottom featuring twin 2,000-plus-hp Factory Billet Power turbocharged engines, automatic three-speed transmissions and sophisticated electronic management systems, has been raising the top-speed bar at the Lake of the Ozarks Shootout in Central Missouri. This year, team owner Jim Schultz set out to break the boat's 166-mph three-quarter-mile course record it set in 2022 and hopefully top 170 mph, a mark Schultz has been eyeing since he started developing his own engine program for the boat the Rhode Island company built for him in 2008. What happened at the 35th annual top-speed competition was stuff of legends. Come along for the ride as Schultz, engine guru Mike Faucher and the rest of the Illinois-based Factory Billet team show off the boat's unmatched technological advancements at the world’s most famous aquatic speed contest.

    • Most people will never know what over 100mph on water feels like. Nor how scary 140mph is where everything becomes blurry and the pounding your body takes. Not that I know what the 180$ mph are like and don't intend to find out. I know my limit and I reached it in my 20'$

  • Loved the video and fully welcome more like it! Factory Billet is certainly a class act; reminds me of Tom Nelson who mentioned to me that he first started with offshore engines. You could see it pulling HARD crossing the beginning of the course; looked like they were going to post an impressive number from the beginning. Hell of a run and certainly motovation to go number chasing since the Kilo record is wellll within their grasp. One thing I’m curious about is, do they X-ray or image check the props after an event? I think that’d be part of my post run safety and data collection.

Not even in the same class as a V bottom running this fast... Congrats that is pretty amazing... They’re absolutely like “Yeah so we’re doing this the same way we always have, if the bikes are quicker now, well I guess we’re gonna have some fast lap times.” 🤷🏽‍♂️😂

  • I made valves with inconel core and the inconel portion has a .02 pentagon i.d. on valve stem portion , then 2 other exotic metals used on the valve. Capable of lasting in a top fuel dragster engine a full season but no one cares to try them as they think its bs. People do not even know there is a 90ft powerboat the billionaire friend machined mold to in 2022 and this mofo has 3 4000hp turbines . Its purpose is to run over 150mph through a haulover chop to ocean which will happen this summer in miami Fl . The seats to boat are bad ass with 4 feet of suspension travel total (2ft up ,2ft down) and axial up too +/- 30 degrees of axial suspension . Safe for a front end stuff at 150mph on back injury prevention tested so far in seat suspension test center in certain location.
