Welcome to today's woodturning project! This time I made a vase out of split firewood and some white colored resin. Interesting project with a simple form, that I finished with Danish oil.
Hope you enjoy the video!

  • Beautiful! Also... please use gloves and a mask when mixing uncured resin! It can cause a lot of health issues in the long run

  • How long was the drying process with the epoxy? On a side note, good work, interesting concept and amazing result.

    • Resin cures, it doesn’t dry. I assume the resin used here is two-part epoxy resin, which has a curing time between 24-48 hours. It cures faster in warm, dry conditions.

  • How about using a circular form and not having to slice off portions which are wasted and cost you for the materials?

    • That would be almost impossible to do with the desired pattern The purpose of this is to cut the wood and resin simultaneously and keep an even grain so it looks like one material

  • Such a pity you're not able to make anything without resorting to plastic. Destroying the planet one piece at a time 😢

    • Wow. Guess you forgot the kindergarten lesson that says “if you can’t say anything nice, don’t say anything at all.” How bout this: think of the firewood he is keeping from being burned, thereby keeping carbon and other chemicals from polluting the atmosphere. Saving the planet one piece of firewood at a time.
