Welcome to this weeks woodturning video.
Woodturning - The Biggest Log Ever !!
In this woodworking video I use a woodturning lathe to turn a huge maple log into a beaded vase.
When woodturning a piece like I find it important to nibble away at it until I see what shape the wood wants to be, this is what is so enjoyable about woodturning.
If you find these videos entertaining I’d appreciate you like, share and subscribe.

I always wondered how these massive wooden objects are made. Cutting them into several pieces and fitting them together again requires a lot of precision. Absolutely amazing! I enjoyed watching the process very much.
The large scale is fascinating. But i am most impressed by 17:50 casully putting those lines in equidistant and ending up exactly at the next joining line.😮
I think, I could be wrong, but when it is fixed in place and spinning (and the surface is smooth), it is virtually impossible to not join up the ends. Otherwise it would be unlikely a symmetric join in the actual carving would be successful.
Holly cow, that is amazing. Now I understand how those big wooden vases are made. You are amazing
Wowsers 😮 that just blew my tiny brain, seriously Jack that was incredible

splendid maestro
The simplicity of your design paid homage to the majestic tree that gave you such a beautiful grain to work with. Anymore and it would have been over done. I think you are a genius.
Wow, thank you very much. Glad you enjoyed it 😊 Are you an artist?
Благослови Господи твои замечательные ручки, за создание таких шедевров.🤗🙏🙏🙏👍
I'm glad I logged in for another Jack Mack video.
i see what you did there 😏
Brilliant idea to divide it up and hide the seams with ribbing. My only question is, why didn't you hollow out the slices all the way through?
I've never seen such a large piece on a lathe before. Very impressive. The vase is so beautiful.
Well, I did not expect that! You tend to keep me guessing. Along for the ride wondering what you will do with that huge log, when I realize you are a Southpaw! Awesome! My dad was a Southpaw!
Really impressive. And now I can see why someone invented segmented woodturning!
I’m not sure which I appreciated the most. You patience your wood turning skills or your tools sharpening skills. Great job.
Mir fehlen die Worte, das ist so genial echt super
Wow jack that was a whopper beautiful vase man
Gorgeous

The greatest job ever seen on video! My sincerely compliments! Merry Christmas from Italy!
You’ve got some skills 😎
Mesmerizing Jack. ❤
Wow. That is beautiful
Stunning!!!
Thanks 👍🎄
I don't understand the advantage of cutting it into segments, then re-joining them. Why not just leave it as one solid piece?
And to you sir, "Thumb's Up" No. 1000! Great videos! Wondering, what do you do with all the sawdust? I bet that room smells great! John
Woohoo!! Savage beastie there. Magnificent.
Great turning Jack.
Absolutely class as ever! Big ups
Well done Jack. Very pretty.

Attaboy Jack. At first, I thought you were making an Anvil base. Merry Christmas.

You never cease to amaze with every creation Jack! 🤩 What a hunk of a log and heavy hitter. Love ya man! Merry Christmas to you and the family. 🎄Be well always!!
How excited were you when you actually got to speed up the lathe above 150rpms? Wow!
brilliant idea. Will have to try sometime.
Gtreat work Jack. Love the finished article.
Impressive and amazing!
Nice work.
Nice!
9:25 - ah, not going to fool me! You filmed those separately/after since the bottom is already finished in the top left. Then, cuts to you starting it. Of course, stuff like this happens all the time, but it's nice to just catch them here and there.
Amazing, loved this 👍
Jaaaaack, you are freakin' awesome! 😁
You a brave man
magnificent
Very nice.
Great over sized vase! Of course you always do something amazing, Hope your Christmas was happy and bright & Have a safe peaceful NEW YEAR !
Very nice
❤nice❤
Cool! ~ Also if you cut the base off, that would make a good Djembe Drum :)
That is absolutely gorgeous! Your gift of creating beautiful pieces of art is amazing. I love this so much! ❤
I like it,very nice
I knew it was going to be a large tall vase, its beautiful!!! The other side of my brain was thinking, wouldnt it be cool if it was stacked storage. 😉
Another masterpiece Jack. Thanks for sharing and Merry Christmas.
A beautiful piece of art sir, stunning. Thanks for sharing your hard work with us.🌿 👍👍👍👍👍
I've watched the creation of giant vases on some other turning channels and this was quite a different approach. Good job 👏👍
Beautiful piece. Very impressive! 👍 I did find myself wishing for the application of a bowl-saving jig though. With that much volume to work with, I'm sure several nice ones could have been harvested. (But maybe that's just the Scottish "waste not/want not" genes coming out!) 😁
Bro!!! Love this one, and how you hid the seams! Simply stunning, man!
I love it the grain is beautiful, Merry Christmas
Hot dam, you did it, beautiful vase
Eu amei
Nice job :))
Amazing!! Merry Christmas Jack ❤from 🇦🇺😘🍾🥂🎄
Great Job. Merry Christmas And Happy New Year Jack 🎊🎄
Wow !!! :😮😮😯😯
That's a whopper!
I thoroughly enjoyed that. Pardon me though. Is there anyway that you could have realigned the grain back up? Or was that not the objective?
Oh my goodness, it's a tree! I could practically hear you thinking "ok, dude , what do I do with you now?"
Wow! Love it!!! The size is amazing and I really dig the ribs you did around the splicing to maybe kind of hide the splicing a bit?!! Definitely an impressive piece for sure!!! Great job!!!
Yes, the ribs were a nice touch.
Bro maxed out his lathe, I only have a measly level 1 lathe. 😭
Hello Jack, you certainly gave your machine a bit of a workout there, nice job. Reminded me of the canon you made a little while back. Merry Christmas and all the best for the new year. 🙃
Wow, what a beast. That had to have hurt your hands on those initial cuts. Any idea of the weight when you started?
