Like always, I have something in my head and then I start to build it and while building, other ideas come to me.
And then after that i draw the plans.
Worked our very well this time 😁
I wanted to make it as small and smart as possible. At the moment its possible to Bend 750mm long and maximum of 1,5mm thick steel, shorter should be 2mm possible. To build it for 1m should be also possible.
To turn the Bending (hold-down angle) die (1mm or 2,5mm) for a bigger bending radius is very importend for thicker Aluminium (upcoming projects). If its to small, it could happen that it will break.
To screw it on the my weldingtable and have a flat workspace was very importend for me.
I have built a second hold-down-angle device that I can change if necessary. I'll use this if I have to make some boxes....I will ad more and more cut out when i needed it.

  • I bought a plan and have now fabricated my own metal bender. I couldn´t agree more to all positive feedback! The bender works very well and is really very flexible!! I did a small adjustment to #2 (Flat steel 100x10, lenght 820 mm) in the plan: I drilled two 13mm holes in lower left and right corners and I now can bolt #2 to a vertical support in the table if needed. This helped a lot not to overstress the weld between #2 and both #4´s when working with "too tough" material. Oh, by the way, you also inspired me to enhance my welding table to a totally new level.
