  • The whole place is looking amazing...and I love the frog. Those snails really have some attitude going on, I guess natural armour helps. The weaver ants are gorgeous, and I hope they settle in and colonize well. The golden ones will likely be more confident once the colony has attained some size. I find this vivarium quite breathtaking at times, and you capture personalities brilliantly with those occasional voice responses. Great work as usual, thanks again...I can’t fathom why you don’t have tons more followers, you certainly deserve them.🖤🇨🇦

    • Nordic Ants you are truly among my top five channels on KZhead, seriously. I think you inspire people to get more interested in the fauna of Nature they might otherwise just think of as gross or a nuisance. Being able to watch the interactions and interdependence of so many diverse creatures in action is both enlightening and very enjoyable. I find you quite unique among the makers of terrariums and ant habitats because you are engaged in a study of the diversity of life that inhabits every part of our Earth and Her soil. You have a great sense of humour, and it is clear that you are learning things right along with your viewers. Please keep doing what you do so very well...in these days of politics and so many other daily trials faced by people all over the world you are a breath of fresh air. As soon as I am able I would like to put you on my Patreon list, which at the moment has only three content providers...you will definitely be the fourth. With love from Canada...🖤🇨🇦

  • Firstly, I'd like to say the depth and intricacy of your vivarium absolutely fascinates me. You have an amazing balance of detritivores, prey, and predator species. This build is the most true to nature that I've seen. You said its a two meter tank, so that equates to a 648 liter tank correct? What were some problems that came about that you weren't planning for? Did anything good happen that you didn't expect either? I hope you post more videos of your builds, and the process in which you build them. You're an amazingly talented artist and bio-keeper. I am forever subscribed. Thanks for doing what you do, and sharing it with all of us.

  • Hey @Nordic Ants! Love the videos, best vivarium on YT if there had to be a competition. I'm a biologist and have done a decent amount of flatworm research before, been itching to have a reason to do more in my spare time though. There's a lot to learn about them but not a lot of interest. If you've got any science heavy questions you'd like answered I can look into them for you, I've got access to basically all the journals. If you made the right kind of observations then it would not be impossible to imagine you could write an observational paper on it. I'd love to help if you'd have it.

  • So is this an open terrarium that you keep outside? I strongly want to make a natural terrarium like this of my own! Like is this outside on your patio under an awning so it doesn't get over watered by rain? Thanks for any tips! I love this terrarium so much!

    • Its outside on my balcony! And theres a roof so it doesnt rain inside :-) a cool tip is to have the light on over it during evenings so that bugs fly in!!

    • This has since long been a goal of mine to introduce an amphibian! Remember that all animals can escape out of the viv if they dont like it in there :D all past introductions has led to this moment. Although a feline would be hard to contain in such a small habitat

    • @@nordicants6232 So what you are saying is you want to build a large outdoor vivarium for cats? Possibly moving on to humans at some point? Seems like a natural progression to me.
