Exactly. I had throughout high school and college and I styled my hair all types of ways. I always felt that just Tyra was a know it all.
This is grossly inaccurate and rife with disinformation. She gave Ebony cycle 5 in 2004 micro braids. Literally name ANY OTHER GIRL WITH BRAIDS. Nvm every other cycle. 24 cycles would mean rough 11 cycles spanning 2 decades of girls with braided hair. Where, Karen? Where are these magical braided models? I thought zoomers were supposed to be woke and smart not ignorant and media illiterate. There is a mountain of legitimate criticisms to levy against this trashy scripted tv show. Why do zoomers of a certain age bracket feel the need to bend space and time to come up with something not even based in reality?

I feel like the early cycles were the best because it really was about making them look good and having them transform. Then as the cycles went on I feel it became more about shock value and drama. In cycle 5 I do think that Tyra did that to cassandras hair on purpose and it had nothing to do with being "high fashion". I always get the vibe she hates pageant girls and like to take them down a couple notches.

I think it was real. She cried a lot more the first few seasons: she had a real and personal connection with each of the girls. I think seeing others cry makes her cry and she was actually letting Xiomara stay

The pearl sleeves are actually from a mesh dress. I’m guessing he cut the dress and left it as a top. It’s from a store called “Steps”. You can’t stop their store online, but you might have one in your area. :)

My sister passed away a year ago. She was born year of the rooster and that was our nickname for her. She liked to buzz her head. I helped her one time. When you hear "rooster" think of it as a compliment... you're not just confident, you're "cocky" and you know it! 🐓

I'm 5'1" and I'm sure there are models as short as us. Some agencies hire the disabled in wheelchairs and whatnot...so I mean there's diversity out there for the less mainstream.

The main reason these makeovers were so good is because the first few seasons were really trying to make models. It was a show that had never been done up until that point and they were taking it serious. After its popularity it became a basic reality competition show and did things based solely for shock factor to keep ratings. I would say the show went down hill after season 5 (maybe 6)

I didn't even bother watching after Cycle 6. 6 was a disappointment.

I feel like this early in the show their main focus was actually making the girls look good. Once the seasons progress I think they got more into doing drastic changes more for shock value and/or drama from the contestants. I don't blame them, it's reality tv and everything, but they were really spot on in these earlier seasons. So many great transformations.
I would legit just watch you react to entire seasons of this show.

I think it has more to do with flashback while taking photos. If it was runway modeling I see no problem but glasses can be a lighting issue in photography

Fellow four eyes, and photographer. Glasses are incredibly hard to photograph, lighting is super difficult even for pros. They can ge worked with 100% but you def compromise poses, positioning and lighting to make them work.

I love hearing your thoughts on Tyra’s look each cycle. Some cycles she looks like an absolute queen and you finally see she was a supermodel in the 90s. Some seasons it’s not so much that she looks bad but that she does too much or it’s a very unnatural color, but ever notice that she always looks really good on the best seasons? Like this one, cycle 1 cycle 6, cycle 12, cycle 13

Jay Manuel actually started his career in the industry as a make up. He did Tyras make up for several years. In season 1 he was still doing make up but was brought as the art director during one of the last photo shoots and then became the permanent director starting in season 2

Yes Karina in everyday life it's above average I'm 5'8 and I'm taller than 90% of the women i come across. But in high fashion that is short, most models are 5'10 5'11 6'ft.
