The actor is putting in seriously high amounts of effort for a character that sadly doesn't deserve it. It's a real shame because the voice acting for Joker is admittedly very nice, even if it doesn't feel very "Joker-esque."
Same, I also feel like that many people are not aware that Joker has many designs throughout the comics, and yet people are complaining about this version of the Joker.

It invalidates this universe’s prior Joker. If it was some other game that is an alternative universe he would be great.

I'm always down for weird new takes on the Joker ngl. I admittedly don't know why they didn't use his voice actor from the Injustice/mortal kombat games though, but this isn't a bad take. Maybe with a better writer and overall product people would've been a little nicer ngl
I'll admit, this Joker's VA is fantastic, even when his character is dumb, you can tell he gave this his all, mad respect.

Not gonna lie? I like this Joker. Hot take, I know, but hear me out. He genuinely has a soul, which makes him a much more intricate character to write and watch. He could have killed everyone here if he wanted to, but he thinks their mission is worth his time, so he plays along. Also, that Green Lantern one-liner? Clean.
He’s just not the joker. His character is more similar to the trickster or even the riddler.

4 cutscenes, 2 are just boss transistions, and 1 is a 2d sideshow. which means there is only 1 real cutscene.

In all honesty, I don't hate this Joker. It doesn't hold a candle to the original Arkham Joker, but I still like it. I don't hate his look because it looks like they wanted him to be a bit more hero-esc in his design and a little less angular, villainous, and intimidating like the original Arkham Joker so it fits pretty well. It also looks like they were going for a more silver age type Joker. Kinda like The Joker from Batman: the Brave and the Bold, or The Clown Joker from The Three Jokers comic where he's more of a campy prankster who's only in it for the fun and to cause chaos, Anarchy, and doesn't care much for the plan, while the original Arkham Joker is more like The Comedian Joker of the bronze and modern age of comics. It's also pretty cool that he has a golden age Joker outfit or outfit that The Criminal Joker from The Three Jokers had. The game is subpar at best at least in its current state, but the characters are unique and interesting. Gotta give credit where credit is due.
I wish more people saw this comment. A lot of thought went into this version of joker and it’s under-appreciated.

Sadly bearly or non of the team that made the Arckham trilogy is at the studio . I am not really invested and care much about the hole woke, anti- woke shit but regardless of that or not this game is not all that good , not a fan of it at all. The game need some fix of sorts , clarity , big improvement and then just make a real and proper Arckham game , with a proper gritty Metropolis maybe and story and appropriate gameplay . This is clearly not the Metropolis game that people wanted and hoped . They need to return to the roots and do what they were best known and loved for . Such a shame and annoying what has become of this studio , I really hope they bounce back and reedem themselves.

rocksteady isnt the same company that made the batman trilogy, all of those ppl are gone, its a new company with new leadership. they are pushing wokness, thats why they made harley so ugly and turned posin ivy into a little girl/boy. rocksteady invovled a group called sweet baby inc who job is to ensure there is diversity in games. alot of games they are involved with fail so ppl blame them for sucide squad failing. a steam user created a group that tracks all the games sweet baby is invovled with so gamers who dont wan to support them would know what games to stay away from. sweet baby found out and tried to get this group shutdown. many gamers came to the groups defence and now launched the second gamer gate. theres more to all this but u can look that up yourself. @@Thedrakendrift49485

I for the first time play Arkham Knight right now and the Joker is presented in a way that can only be described as legendary in that game, to know that this is the same company is a testament of how much the game developers in this industry has truly Fallen in terms of Talent and ambition. Honestly the sooner we get rid of the sweet baby ink the sooner we can start seeing some improvement in terms of stories, narrative, and Vision returning to these games.

The literal woman dressed as a clown is done with comedians. Make it make sense. On top of that, thats all she had to say about the situation. Its not like she spent 4 games with the Joker and attempted to recreate him in the last one because she wanted him back that badly. She really did just sit in a cell for 5 years and said, "Meh the joker ain't shit," and then just moved on without any actual substance to it. Wonderful storytelling. I wonder who was behind that 🙄
I get a sneaking impression that they want this Joker to be gay… and then make up for Harley later by having her say that it’s not “her Joker” so it doesn’t count? Which is weird, because like you said in Arkham Knight, Harley goes off the rails injecting people with Joker toxin to bring him back. I’m finding it harder to believe that this is THE Arkhamverse (even though they keep writing like it is when convenient?) Overall, this whole thing is just very confusing and very poorly done.

Excellent point. Flashpoint Batman wrote a letter to be delivered to Bruce and it was impactful. Rogue Superman regretted his actions after meeting a pregnant Lois from another Earth despite knowing that she was not his. Then here we have this story where Harley seems to be completely unphased by joker's presence. Yes sure he is from another Earth, but let's not pretend like she was not completely crazy over him. Not even a little bit of dialogue between them.

I think it's fair to say that the character is not THAT bad. It's not THAT painful to watch cutscenes with him. And this game would be ok, if it would be in the universe of it's own...BUT IT'S TAKING PLACE IN ARKHAM VERSE. And that's the only problem. The only reason why it's taking place in Arkham verse, is because studio thought they would get more cash because of it.
I think it’s more apathetic than that. Like the only reason seemed to have been so that they could kill THE Batman from the Arkham-verse. But now, they’re saying it was a clone? And there’s even fans (all 69 of them) saying that apparently there’s “loads of hints” in the game that they’re actually fighting clones of the Justice League…… which I’m sorry, I just do NOT buy. It smells like an excuse that was thought up when everyone reacted poorly to their story. Plus, the whole clones theory doesn’t work when it seemed like the Suicide Squad killed the “real” Flash. So who was and who wasn’t a clone is now just up to them to decide which makes this whole game feel REALLY weird.
