That is a SPECTACULAR, TEXTBOOK FROG. Unusual to see such a robust, intact frog in a foot so overdue for the farrier; it’s health reflects on the horse’s general health. There’s an old saying: ‘No foot, no horse.’ The frog provides traction AND because it is made of spongier, compressible tissue, helps pumping deoxygenated blood back up the leg. Amazing!

Great job! Thanks for explaining as you work.
Wow beautiful works, New shoes for the Lovely horse.
Love the draft horses, we had 2 of the giants at work. When the 50 stockhorses would take off running 5 minutes latter the draft horse would come plodding past..
1st that is one of the most beautiful horses I have ever seen! WOW! 2nd What is the purpose of burning the shoe on? 3rd what purpose does the (not aure what they r called) when you bend a part of the shoe up sometimes just in the front sometimes on the sides also. Anyone? Just curious it's amazing to watch and learn...tks! 😊
Burning on helps to get a good fit. The 'bent up bit' is called a clip and they help to keep the shoe in place.
Wow, the craftsmanship! Great job!
This is just absolutely amazing.
I have never seen a person shoe a horse before. That was amazing!
The Armorall on that wheel was the perfect touch. Great job, sir.
Very talented, very smooth job and thanks for sharing! Id hire you quick to shoe for me!
Amazing!
Indeed! an unsuspected sight.
Good info, thanks.
as someone who just watch it for the satisfaction, I am so upset he did not clean the frog lol.
@@gorangaby1094 oh dear, he explained he was leaving it alone, hope you get over your Upset!
Ein Wunderschoener Fuss, direct zum Tanzen.

Looks impressive. Professional work. 💯
Beautiful job and horse, ty
That gray horse next door is gorgeous ❤
Sometimes I think after getting all 4 shoes done I bet the horse is like: Ah, man, what a nice feeling.
Now THAT is a beautiful shoe job!👍🏻👍🏻
A lot of this was lost on me but I do see the workmanship and the ability of not just working with a large animal but also a high standard in metal working.
Great job, nice finish on those feet.
WOW, the before and after is amazing. A good farrier is worth their weight in gold and then some.
That before and after is night and day. Awesome awesome work.
😊 you did a beautiful job good deal my man. 😊
Thank you so much for sharing! I would like to ask a question out of my own ignorance. Why do you still leave the hoof with some cracks on the outer side?
ESTE TRABAJO QUEDO MUY BELLO
I have a question. When you are hot-shoeing a horse, why do you burn-fit it first before finishing the shoe? what exactly are you looking for when you do this? BTW, I love the magnetic wrist band you have for the nails. Much better than having to reach for a box, and far safer than holding them in your mouth!
Another farrier mentioned it being good to spot where there might be too much pressure on the foot, so if one side has some particularly well burnt parts when the shoe is pressed you can see where more might need to be taken off for a more even fot
Fantastic video with a great deal of information on horse shoeing
