Fiona was stuck at the bottom of a Scottish cliff for 2 to 3 years; dubbing her 'The Lonilest Sheep in the World'. She was perfectly healthy but her overgrown fleece was needing cut. After being rescued, her postive story made headlines around the world. The next day it was time to restore her to full health with a trip to the salon and finally, to her new home, where she will never be lonely again.

    • I haven’t paid very close attention, but from what I gathered the farm has a “petting zoo” style area. One of the protesters concerns was that Fiona would be used as a celebrity prop to drum up business and “overhandled” by guests. That and some of them seem to be anti-farm in general.

  • Those protestors saying people shouldn't visit Fiona are unaware of how people friendly sheep can be! Fiona is sweet, curious, and starved of affection. She needs visitors! The farm will manage it so she isn't overwhelmed and gets to just be a sheep with her new herd. ❤

    • Number one, they don’t actually know animals. Most farm animals are social, and don’t care whether they’re hanging out with a pig, a sheep, a cow, or even a human being. But maybe more importantly, if they’re trying to protect animals, and perhaps get them more humanely treated, and not eaten quite as often, then they should want the general public to have close contact with animals and keep the pressure on farms to treat them humanely. Anyway, nice job shearers!

  • I can't believe how calm she's been through the whole rescue and shearing. For a sheep that wouldn't have had that much human contact before she got stuck, she's been so tolerant and even cooperative of the help. I hope she continues to thrive with friends when she's had time to recover from the traumatic events.

    @AvieMare@AvieMare4 ай бұрын
    • It's strategic, it keeps the fleece long enough to give her some warmth for the cold they still have and also means less likely to nick the skin as you have to move slower with the shears. Down side is of course it's slower which if her temperament was different this could have really stressed the poor ewe's body and could be bad as with that much wool it would be hard to check vitals and such. Was quite lucky she was such a calm ewe.

  • There's something mesmerizing and cathartic watching Sheep get shorn, especially with Scottish accents describing the process. Apparently by the number of views, I'm not alone. And now, neither is Fiona. Great job.

  • Wonderful people! How marvellous that the rescue team in Scotland didn't give up on her, despite the perilous situation. Your work is fantastic, thank you for the care and compassion you give your animals. After her superb Sheering, Fiona is so happy, it looked as if she could hardly believe, not only that she been relieved of a huge weight but also that she was safe. So sweet she has friends and is happy after her lonely ordeal. Xxx ❤❤❤😊

  • Aye them protesters would be away at lunch time , so busy to head off to plant trees , rewild urban areas , lift litter , help their neighbours in times of need ,do their bit to feed the world and make the world a better place , and all fueled by avocado ,pulses and coconut milk. Well done team , great job on the shearing.

    • Us to gooders in rural and remote Wales are mainly meat eaters, live stock owning, and organic vegetable growing. Yet we still make time to plant trees, tend "wild areas" on our own land, snd pick up tourist and sea rubbish on beaches. We are too busy to stage demos and drink soy latte (even if such was sold locally).

  • Cammy, you did such an amazing job shearing Fiona. Making sure she was comforted the whole time. She completely trusted you. I have loved watching her journey to Dalscone Farm (my favorite farm) where I think she is more in love with Farmers, Pete, Ben and Conor than her mates Amy, Dozey and Curly Sue next door. You can actually see the love in her eyes when they come near her pen. Thank you to Graeme from the Hoof GP, whom I have been watching for a long time, as I saw the rescue through him. So much love from this Maine, USA girl. Did the man that wanted to do something with her wool get the ok?

  • So what if it's not the best-looking shearing job. Every action & decision ever taken has always been about doing the very best for Fiona. Plus, going to Dalscone Farm to live with sheep friends has benefitted Fiona so much. She's such a lovely lass with an amazing temperament, especially for a sheep who has never been used to human contact. Thanks again to everyone for rescuing Fiona & showing love & kindness towards her. Also, thank you for the updates on FB.❤😍
