Exactly. I was pretty happy to have a movie that just wanted to let me have fun for an hour and a half. I love the comics and I love how messed up they can be with their psychodrama but sometimes I just want to have a good time and this movie let me do that.

To answer your question, in the comics yes. Venom imitates clothing for Eddie and he is in fact naked in some cases after a separation from Venom.
this is just what the symbiote did with Parker; no need for clothes or web shooter fluid since it would produce it directly

I laughed a lot, I loved the club scene, and Venom actually is one of my favorites spider man characters (and I don't say villain, because it's been ages Venom has not been a villain, but an antihero, anyone who reads comics knows it)

i remember the cartoons with spider-man when he got Venom...and yeah, there was a scene where Peter Parker changed outfits while standing on the side of a building...and it was just Venom morphing into different clothes...and also, when Peter got rid of the symbiote at that bell scene, he remained only in his underwear...so yeah :D it's safe to assume it's the same case here...but no...in the movie, his clothes just keep getting wetter whenever Venom takes over, suggesting that the symbiote is just really sliding through the fabric like a slimy thing...hence the clothes getting wet :( it was a bad thing they did...i would have liked to have the cartoon accuracy regarding the clothes...they could have added a few jokes in the movie with the clothes :)))

But it's not like Eddie's naked, the Venom symbiote can just imitate real life clothing. So it's more Eddie is full-time Venom always, but the symbiote shapeshifts into normal clothing.

My favorite part of this was Eddie reacting to Venom's voice without the voice.
I've seen both of these movies, and I love the banter between Eddie and Venom.
I wish Carnage was in more of this film. He felt so disconnected from the general story.

This film was a 90 minute version of that one episode in every kid’s cartoon where the good guys are fighting while the bad guys work together seamlessly, until the heroes together at the same time the villains start fighting amongst themselves

The symbiote easily morphs any type of clothes and even shape-shifts into other people, should the host want to. It even has "pockets" to store stuff in, like Peter Parker did with his camera.

Turning venom and Eddie into the reporters from American Dad, did this movie no favors.
In the comics Peter would only wear underwear and the symbiote was the entire rest of his wardrobe. This was before he knew it was an alien, he thought it was alien fabric that looked however he wanted it to. When Eddie got Venom he seems to have dressed in the same manner.

I never thought about the awkward silence bit before but that’s really an interesting point! I wonder how do they cue the opposite actor of Tom Hardy in his scenes with Venom’s dialogue? Does he give a physical gesture that cues the next lines? Or are they reacting to a playback track of Venom’s lines in a earpiece or something?
I believe someone is reading venom's lines behind the camera for Tom Hardy to react to; that's at least how they do it if one actor is unavailable at the time and the other one is alone on screen anyway.
If I'm not mistaking I think Tom said in an interview that they would play Venom's lines on set and the other actors just had to pretend like they didn't hear them.
Hardy has an earpiece with the venom lines that he prerecorded. I think New Rockstars mentioned it in their breakdown.

Actually yes venom does have the ability to mimic clothes. Wich means they watched that eddy Murphy movie and liked the outfit so Venom became it

The helmet has Pym particles in it that automatically shrink the size of the atoms of Oxygen so he breathe. Instead of shrinking the space between atoms, it shrinks the space between the sub atomic particles in the Oxygen atoms.
