I gotta say, that guy going through the process of rewinding that caterpillar starter motor is pretty skillful and young.

And just gets on with it as 5hey do not know any other way. Not like the western world that wingers at a drop of a hat. Great recyclers ❤@@gordonwelcher9598
As a Mechanic of 50 years, We did this all the time and it was way more fun than just buying a new one !
I have a motorbike, I prefer fixing the parts than buying a new one, even though it's way cheaper buying another brand new. I guess fixing broken things make us feel more useful as men.
Скажите пожалуйста, автомобильный генератор также можно перемотать или лучше купить новый?😊
so why didn't you keep doing it that way if it's so much fun?

When the end of the world happens, this young people are a huge asset.
i bet the people who designed those parts originally never imagined someone would be breaking them down and repairing them decades later. the more i watch this the more interesting it gets. very good display of excellent repair skills. this is quite advanced repair.

I totally agree with you, i really enjoyed watching these fellows doing this complicated work and very astonished by the levels of skills and patience and precision they have. 😊

I don’t know where this is, but I remember as a child, we had to do these sort of things all the time, as it was poor in my part of Alabama. These are skills that are vanishing many parts of the earth, and will be something to serve these youngsters well for the rest of their life. Much love to you from Alabama, USA

How come so many of these workers do it on the ground, and not make themselves a basic workbench?
I see a lot of this street factory clips and every time I am surprised of the skills of these people. They can repair every motor or what ever with a minimum of tools. with very much patience they are working. Just great

In an age of disposable replacement parts, it's enjoyable to see skills like these still being used.
You enjoy seeing Child labour? This is a child ...
Not really, only wasteful Americans don't repair stuff but the rest of the world still does.
These aren't disposable parts, they can be returned to the OEM for the deposit for remanufacturing. It's just that they're heavy and the shipping almost always costs more.
@@brake_4_cake I'm aware. That's the point of the video.
"In an age of disposable replacement parts" is that a metaphore for "indian kid"?

More involved than I thought to rewind it. Very painstaking tedious work. Very nice finished armature. Nice video.
Thank you, that was fantastic to watch. I live in Australia and have never seen an armature rewound ! Thanks again !
Don't let the size of these motors fool you, they are very powerful and fast, you can not run them with out a load, they will fly apart. The skills these guys have at making such beautiful motors is amazing. These types of motors are my favorite.
I tested a direct drive starter after rebuilding. It really goes when you power it without load.
Impressive skills, long may you keep them alive. The world has already lost too many skilled craftsmen to automated machinery.
...parabéns por seu comentário. 👍
Nonsense, is skilled craftsman and engineers have moved on to build machines and systems that do those boring 3rd world country jobs. Oh and yes, child labor, we don’t have either.
Al capitalismo no le gusta esto, el capitalismo le gusta que se arruine algo y vuelvas a comprarles y todo al basurero.
Child labor in itself isn't a bad thing at all. The exploitation of child labor is. Automation is also not a bad thing but we need to be aware that that isn't free from exploitation and pollution either. Dumping your truck because the ecstatic value is quite a selfish thing to do, just like exploiting children is for example.
@@SpiethstarWhen they are poisoning themselves they are being exploited. Nothing honorable going on here.
Hard working guys. Thanks for the upload.
That young man is very clever. He is doing a man's job and makes it look easy. As a retired engineer, I'm very impressed 👍👏😁
I was truly amazed. Completely manual labor and skill.Congratulations .
not completely. the rotator machine to scrap away the imbalance contacts at the end is automatic.
Many thanks to these guys for their hard work!
Man do I love these videos, it’s like feeding an addiction , I also enjoy doing work like this myself, there’s something so satisfying about bringing something back to its former glory by hand and having to come up with clever ways to make it happen. What I find so fascinating is the replacement parts, speciality or proprietary parts that are needed to make new again , 2 blocks away some other outfit is producing these things to sell. Love how self sustaining the country is, I guess the US was like this many years ago, all the small towns with specialized labor and production. I believe these people love their work, you can tell by the level of skill and pride. Someone will always point out the conditions in which they work or how it’s slave labor, I don’t think that’s the case I think these people are just too used to the luxuries and entitlement they’ve gotten used to
My best friend, OMG! So wonderful! I really love this! Thank you so much!
Amazing skill and craftsmanship!
We need more people like this in the world. outstanding workmanship i love these videos thank you!

Yes but ofc they are 10 times better then Iron Man as they are REAL and Iron Man just an fairytale.
Germans are famous for building quality machinary though 🙂 Here in India, German made cars are widely appreciated 👍 and we people don't trust on China made products as they're mostly cheap and unreliable poorly built. We only hate Germany for one and only reason that is Hitler, else everything from Germany is fine to the extent of best🙂

Use to visit the Long Beach Naval Shipyard where they had a shop that did motor rewinding/ rework. It’s such a contrast to see this very basic manufacturing site versus a USA version in the 1980s. Amazing!

This American electrician approves. That's real skill right there. I've tried to repair damaged windings to a motor before, but had no luck so we decided to disassemble the motor to find out which winding bundle failed. The disassembly process was brutal. We were surprised a Baldor 3-phase motor proved to be more unreliable then the Chinese motor we replaced it with, which has been working a lot longer. China may not be able to make good VFD's, unlike Japan and America, but their motors are really decent. I still cannot believe those guys refurbished that rotor from a motor at a street shop that's just downright impressive.
Forget about America and Japan, the world is moving ahead

Wow...! Very impressive 👏
They seem to enjoy their work. Seems peaceful. Excellent.
Funny thing is, the laminated metal pieces are sprayed with a thin insulation layer to avoid rusting and avoid the magnetic field forming eddy currents, which is a form of loss by burning the rotor they removed or deteriorated the insulation layer between the pieces, so this motor will perform WORSE and will rust (the rotor was dusty at the start, but after burning they had to use the grinding wheel to get the rust out)
I'm sure the temper of the shaft was ruined too, but I guess if it starts the engine, then it's good enough.
idk why people praise this post-apocalyptic repair stuff it's NOT REALLY repairing anything how many hours will it run and what will the output be?
@@delphinazizumbo8674 It was from old engines coming from West after thousends hours of work. If it can work few more hundred of hours with this repair it is worth all that job.
@@delphinazizumbo8674Not to mention the cancer that are all going to get.
Rust is a nice insulator, it will help prevent the loss between the layers.
