A 90 dollar game that you can't even run properly... with 90 bucks you could be spending on something much more productive or at least save up for more, because having less than 90 in your bank literally means you're bankrupt. Not to mention, a 600 dollar build with a 1050ti could run this game with a high framerate.

    • Typically that's always been the case for competitive shooters. People who are more serious want the highest frames, so low it is. Didn't people play Counter strike and such on low too? It's just that graphics have advanced so much that the gap between low and ultra can be much larger. I play bf5 and pubg on a 1070 at low

  • Awesome comparison, you did a great job showcasing the modes! YoutTube compression does wash out the image overall, so it's harder to tell when not seeing it first hand, but the differences between quality settings are subtle. What I can confirm is that the game really looks a lot better than expected even on low settings.

    • Not even. Every added effect and detail is a distraction to your eye. Shadow detail and distance also makes the scene more complex, thus distracting your eye. Smoke effects are easier to see through and faster vs ultra and same w/ explosions which clear up faster on low making it easier to see first and shoot.

  • If you want to play on ultra but still want to retain visibility or be aware if you are visible. Just play with undergrowth on LOW. That's all.

  • The difference is a lot smaller than I expected, and for the huge difference in performance I would definitely run low but just turn textures and AA up.

  • The difference between the two is clearly the shadows. I would rather play it on ultra that way the shadows are where they realistically are suppose to be and it helps keeps clarity with a few other tweaks I would make along with it and that is brightness and contrast. All those things together with rich color tone will bring the picture out to the fullest. You just have to know how to calibrate everything together.

    • low always gives u better visibility because turning off particles, lighting and grass allows you to see players easily. Smoke effect will be less, no grass and no glaring effect from the reflections

  • Ultra definitely looks better when you do a side by side comparison with low but even low is not bad in most cases either. You won't be disappointed with low if you don't know what ultra is.

  • Attentive people, can you mention please what does change besides terrain detail, grass, depth of light calculations, advanced reflections, and clouds of snow and smoke? I can't see any other things. I don't see reflections or mud tracks disappear. Also, according to Notebookcheck, the difference in FPS between Low and Ultra on old graphic chips is around 100% (2 times), while on new graphic chips is only around 50%.

  • If you check pro-players setups are usually set on low due to better imput lag and less detail to lash on. I believe that in games like this you should enjoy the ultra settings on the campaign and reduce the settings in order to have a better result in multiplayer

  • "Low" settings have to be lower, there still are shadows, quality reflections, fog, particles, etc. If EA allowed the graphics to be turned down even more they could get more people to play the game, and more money to them which I imagine is what they want

  • So pretty much if you want a good experience while having competitive advantage you'd need to set textures, water, reflections to high and everything else to low with shadows depending on how bothered you are by it.

  • For competitive gaming low details are usually preffered. You want low - medium shadows, low everything else, no motion blur or screen effects, as much AA as your system can push and the highest possible resolution and refresh rate. High textures, draw distances ect, like 0:25 in this video, a player hiding in the grass, isnt actually hiding in the grass, if you, have no grass... And his grass will be blocking his veiw of you most likely. And thats just cause games always seem to over do the length of grass in games... Why can they just have normal grass lol instead of long ass old seeded looking grass

  • Wow. besides slightly better shadows, and lighting, the only real differences is better more accurate screen space reflections, and of course much more vegetation, and objects rending at a farther distance in the environment. and most people are only gonna notice the higher amount of vegetation and props in the environment.also there does seem to be a bit more tessellation on certain textures throughout the environment.
