  • I've been skeptical of RTX tech, but this seriously looks amazing. The effect can be subtle on first glance, but I could see it being hard to go back to non-ray traced graphics after getting used to this. This is definitely the future of graphics.

  • Short sighted gamers can bash Ray Tracing all they want, but let's face it, the RTX20 series cards are a necessary step towards a much brighter future for gaming in general, though this does not mean that I agree with NGreedia's pricing strategy. In the real world, reflections are critical for survival. For instance, giving your position away thanks to scope reflections from your sniper rifle can be lethal. That said, personally, I won't bother with burning money on the RTX20 series at all since it's practically paying princely sums to be a beta tester of early stage tech. By the time the RTX30 series debuts or if some other competitor comes up with competitively performing products with saner pricing, Ray Tracing will likely have become standard.

    • It's mostly kids that don't have much money complaining. Most of them don't even have a display that can get them the quality that nvidia advertises. It's actually kinda sad that these companies focus just on the high-end and just see it slowly bleed over to low-end. RTX won't be in the hands of the average gamer for another few generations of processors. Kids just mad they can't get the latest and greatest.

    • RTX really helps the devs more than us. NVIDIA gives them the software to process their games for this feature, saving them huge time (they usually "hand draw" these effects). But the real idea with RTX is to push ATI out because they dont have the tools for the devs.

    • Way more than reflections. It is also the lighting in the game and how shadows are cast. Rooms will be lit up from the sun how they would in real world scenarios with shadows casting realistically. The character models as well will gain graphical upgrades in the future. Such as how light shows through the skin, more visible pores, with proper shading in this pores, etc
