    • It probably lost its mother or the baby couldn't make it up the bank so the mother had to abandon it. Prey survival 101: you stay in one spot/area too long the chances of a predator finding you multiplies. So if you ever see a baby anything, just stick around. And use your judgment and either call animal control or rescue and they will bring it somewhere. Better to have the baby separated from mom than be ripped apart.

    • @@bustaruckus5611 Nope. Coyotes would have been agile enough to grab Bambi and eat it right there! Besides, a fawn wouldn’t be crying out like that if danger were near! They KNOW to lay down, be still, and be silent if in danger! But being stranded due to falling down that steep bank is another story! Your comment isn’t a realistic scenario…now that I’ve scolded you, dearly beloved, I’ll add a loving “God bless you!” to my comment! God bless you, and all here!

    • @@MikeMW87 That is not true! Did you bother to check out whether it’s true or not? I have seen plenty of videos where folks are interacting with a fawn for quite a while before putting it back, or placing it close by where it was found, but a better location. I asked if a doe would reject it’s fawn if several people’s left their scent on it… Myth: If a human touches a fawn, its mother won't accept it. Fact: If a fawn has been handled by a human and has human scent on it, the doe will still accept the fawn. She just spent 7 months carrying this fawn. A little human scent won't make her give it up.

    • Why do people say things like this? It sounds like you’ve never actually spent any time at all around wild animals or in nature for that matter. If an animal comes up to you in the wild it’s probably either because it’s already somewhat used to humans, it’s desperate or is going to attack you. Nature is a cruel and uncaring game of life and death, it’s not a Disney movie where all the babies and animals are running around together like the garden of Eden or something.

If the mom was close, she would be watching this whole event. Mom is likely dead, or rejected the deer. Calling an animal wildlife hotline is the only thing you can do for it unfortunately.

I've seen several videos of fawns in distress be rescued by humans and on video the mother and child reunite even days later. Of course that won't always be the case, but a fawn being separated from their mom and safely back in their protection later isn't that uncommon

  • There was an incident where a 4 year old boy was lost in the woods. The searchers were unable to find him before nightfall. The ambient temperature fell down to the lower 40s that night. He was only wearing light clothing. He was sure to die from hypothermia. He curled up under a tree to sleep. Two deer came by and lay down on either side of him. They stayed with him the whole night. He would have died if not for the warmth of their bodies. He was found later that day. Edit: Many people are having problems with this story. They thinks it's fake or I'm lying or they can't find it or they found a story about a bear that kept a boy warm. None of these people bothered to look in the comments. All the information you need about the story is there. It's real only it wasn't deer, I got that wrong, it was elk. Stop telling me I'm a liar. You'll find all the information you need in the comments.

    • @@pas_du_tout Yes, what a shame. But there are far more deer roaming the woods now then in colonial times because hunting is regulated. Back then there were no regulations on hunting and people needed them to help feed their families. The regulations are in place to keep the numbers down. There would be problems with disease and hunger if the herd were allowed to grow too large.

      @matchrocket1702@matchrocket1702 Жыл бұрын
    • @@Dwight_ I did a diligent search looking for that story. The closest thing I came up with was the bear story that everyone else seemed to be coming up with. I honestly remember that story just the way I told it. But I have had problems in the past with misremembering things. It is possible that it was the bear story I was thinking of and my poor memory switched the bear with two deer. Although I would bet my life it was two deer. I'm beginning to think, though I hate to admit it, that my memory has betrayed me once again. If it is true that it was a bear and not two deer then I'm left to wonder why my memory would do such a thing? Why come up with the two deer? It also makes me distrust just about anything I look back upon in my past.

And humans are animals too, we tend to forget that somehow, we are mammals (warm blooded, give birth to live young, breast feed our own babies with milk) We're the only species of animal to drink another species breast milk, tell me that's not weird.

I judge, but at the same time realize my own hypocrisy since I'm not there 100% yet, but I'm certainly glad I'm on that path and have been for 4 years now, took awhile to get where I am. Btw, we're also not designed to eat flesh, but we do, I mean if we were, we would, but we don't. As for sport and for eating, can't have it both ways. • Awesome! I've interacted with a few fawns in my life here in Ohio due to odd circumstances but the best memory was a friend of mine rescued a young fawn from a small creek that couldn't get up, and approaching the dear realized a large snapping turtle had latched onto it in the shoulder area. After some persuasion the turtle finally let go and the fawn was up and basically unharmed. That fawn grew into a nice little buck that frequently visited his yard as if to thank him for saving it's life. 😉

  • Awww. This was SO sweet. I love that guys voice and that he didn't hesitate to just help the little one out and up the bank. When the fawn jumped straight in the water amd swam immediately over to then it was just THE SWEETEST moment. He/she, must have been there a while and jumped at the first opportunity for help. I hope Mamma was close by and little one was reunited just past the long grass 🤞❤️
