Came upon this little Raccoon swimming across the channel. Figured I would pick him up and drop him off at the nearest island. I guess he was exhausted because within a couple of minutes, he was sound asleep and I couldn't wake him up. I went on with my day and ended up taking him back to the main island. Big Pine Key is a wild deer sanctuary with not a lot of people and cars so I think he will be happy there.

  • He had to have been on his last bit of strength to just fall asleep next to a human so fast. You saved him. Good job brother.

  • The fact that he took him to a different island, got it some food and avoided using his motor so it could sleep earns my respect lol what an awesome guy!!!

  • The immediate loss of consciousness is a clear indication that he was pushing himself past the point of exhaustion.

  • Your conversation with him the whole time is priceless. You're a gem of a human.

  • A man's character isn't judged by how he treats the strong, but how he treats the weak. Good job man.

  • I ain't mad at saving a trash panda, I used to work overnight security for a few years and they were always super friendly to me. Had one stand up on its hind legs one night making raccoon noises while moving his hands like he was an Italian speaking to me for about 30 seconds, still makes me smile to this day

  • This is how humans should treat animals- with nothing but kindness and respect. Thanks for being so gentle

  • I love the fact that this guy didn't wake him up and changed his whole plan to accommodate the sleepy little guy. Well done Sir. ❤

  • That's a nocturnal fella. He must have been in that water a long time and was so exhausted. He needed that sleep so badly. What an angel you are.

  • he must’ve been so scared and tired to get knocked out like that. Can’t believe he let you touch him so many times even when he was awake really trusted you, this was so wholesome.

  • Any man that can show compassion for an animal that is on it's last legs, and even takes the time to take him to a place he will live a better life, is a real man. Well done sir.

  • A person who takes their entire day just to help someone else or an animal when they weren’t obligated to, is the type of person the world could use more of. Thanks.

  • Oh that poor baby was absolutely exhausted. I can only imagine the fatigue their little body was feeling. Thank you for rescuing him and allowing him to rest safely and taking him back to an environment he knows ❤️

  • Poor baby, he was EXHAUSTED. How most of us probably feel in life right now. Thank you for saving him🤗

  • Rearranged his entire day for an adorable little random raccoon in the ocean. Such a kind soul, all the decisions he made to accommodate his new furry friend. Letting him sleep on all his lures, not dropping him off at that tiny desolate island, standing around past sunset to let him just ease his way off into the wild on his own. All of it!! He deserves an “Our Favorite Human” medal!

  • Poor little guy was probably exhausted. No telling how long it had been trying to swim to safety. Thanks for keeping it from being a shark's lunch! 👏👏👏
