So if he loses 5% towards the end of a 20 Minute concert where he didn't hold back a single note and was ill on top of that beforehand... It was my father who, in my distant childhood, discovered this beautiful music for me, which was played in our home on vinyl records that my father collected, and I am grateful to him for this.. Today, reviewing this performance, I seem to be returning to the world of complete childhood joy .. Thank you!

  • Freddy was so absolutely ON during this performance! The band was so tight too. Amazing. I watched it on TV in 1985- I was 20 years old, dancing in my living room, loving the magic that was coming through my TV screen. Now at nearly 59, I'm watching it on my tablet in bed, as my dancing days are over... but my head is happily bobbing in time with the music. This has to be the 15th time I've seen this, & it does not get old. Love it!!

I was a student nurse, and my 3 flatmates and I sat and watched the whole thing. We sang, we danced, we laughed and we cried. It was a very moving event. We felt very much part of something bigger, something important. It was a real zeitgeist moment in time . In our naive innocence, we thought that with the amount of money raised, it would bring about such changes in Africa. We were wrong of course . But I will NEVER forget that day 😊

Queens final live performance with Freddy out front took place on 9 August 1986 at Knebworth Park in England. Freddy would pass away from the AIDS Virus late 1991. • My son asked, how can so many people come when there is no social media to announce such event. Told him, son, our times was a unique era that can never be duplicated. The bottom line of live aid is to help a famine stricken country. We were brought by a common love to help others, and it was so genuine and pure, that’s why so many came and watch in every country. Those who helped were never mentioned and do not need to. We need this again❤
