It is so very sad the see these aircraft destroyed by a war caused by the murdering communists putan & tali-biden! So sad for the AN-225!
I hope the spare fuselage is in a safe place keep its location secret I wish it can be brought to the UK maybe airbus will help design new Wings and give it more modern avionics

It's good for those of us who don't understand the language to be able to get Dmytro's translated by yourself, you should do more of his videos, they're a great watch even when we don't understand the language.

He's put his recent vlogs all on auto translate
I remember getting to go inside the 225 when it was in Oklahoma in the US for an air show in the 1980’s. This is a sad day for aviation. What a magnificent aircraft. I can only hope it will grace the skies again.
*That Cessna was a blessing in disguise to prevent further damage*
Well the entire aircraft is a loss...further damage wouldn't matter a bit at this point.
@@danielh1708 The entire front is toast, the rest can possibly be saved.
@@WarhammerWings Negative.
It was an absolute pleasure meeting the A225 during its last trip to Canada on January 19th, 2022. Captain Antonov and his crew did a superb job landing in moderate snow and low visibility conditions in Mirabel. I was thrilled to get the chance to see inside the mighty Mriya. Very different from the big Boeing I pilot around the world. She will be missed.
The soul of this once magnificent Antonov 225 will live on among the salvaged parts and memories of the service it provided. It is difficult to watch the destruction that was unleashed on such an amazing aircraft. Thanks to you and Dmitriy for documenting this tragic event.
They should auction off parts of Mryia. She was a one of a kind, iconic, much loved airplane.
Thank you Denys. Dmytro is such a good man and it must break his heart to see such pointless destruction of not only the wonderful Mriya but all her sisters. Stay safe and stay strong. We are supporting Ukraine.
It will be better after the de-nazifying is complete.
@@svirrsvarr Denazifying of Russia,agreed.
the planes were broken, the correct planes were dislocated, I think in Poland, this is a consequence of the Ukrainian artillery and the struggle for liberation after the Russian Airborne Forces occupied the airport, no unexploded artillery shells can be seen
20:30. Don't apologize my friend. Your tears represent the billions of aviation lovers around the world 😢😢😢😢😢😢😢😢😢😢😢😢😢😢😢😢😢😢😢😢😢❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
yes that is so very true, it is so sad. I can imagine what that pilot who flew this machine felt inside his heart, I would feel the same.
I have tears in my eyes too😭 it shocks me to see the destroyed Antonov 225, 74 and 26😭😭💔 my damaged Antonov 22 ❤️🥺 It's a Beauty❤️❤️❤️ at this part i had tears in my eyes cuz i Love the Antonov 22 ❤️ she's so cute ❤️❤️❤️❤️
Russians are exterminators...somehow I think the Americans under a different administration will take steps to give Russisa a taste of their own medicine
We share them with him
I sobbed when Dmytro placed his hand on Mriyas side. My heart breaks for him and his colleagues. I feel as if he saw that plane as his own daughter. The part with the Cessna really felt bittersweet to me. Like a little brother let his sister rest her tired wings on his. Like a plane hug.
No words of mine, can convey my deep Sadness and anger. This malicious and mindless attack on a peaceful nation, should never have happened. My thoughts are with you all in the Ukraine.
Nothing is what it seems on this inverted/ slave planet. The peado run mass corporate media won't tell you what is going on.
It wasn't mindless. Russia didint want NATO on their doorstep. Awful war though, hope it ends soon.
@@alcoholic402 Ukraine aren't in NATO. And they have made it clear they will not join. They do however, wish to become members of the European Union. They are an independent nation, that wishes to have membership and freetrade amongst their European neighbours. It really doesn't bode well for the rest of Europe, if Russia sees that as a threat.
@@alcoholic402 WOW! That's just mind bending. Russia didn't want NATO at its doorstep, so it attacked Ukraine to occupy it and have Poland at its border... Two simple facts: 1. Ukraine is not in, was not in and wasn't going be in NATO. 2. Poland IS in NATO. Please use your brains before you repeat Russian propaganda.
@@iqnill bruh. There were talks of Ukraine joining NATO. Just because Poland is already at their door doesn't mean they want more NATO or allies of NATO right next to them. Do your research. It's not Russian propoganda btw. I am from the USA. I don't want the Russians invading Ukraine either, but they had their reasons. It was NOT mindless.
An unfinished An-225 airframe has been sitting for decades at an Antonov manufacturing facility outside Kyiv. This second airframe could potentially be finished in the future. There’s still hope
Not anymore , that one also was destroyed it's so sad..
If these people have not been able to finish a 70% finished second plane in 30 years, they especially do not have the brains to finish it now.
It's so sad and hard to see these great airplanes destroyed :(
And to you, my friend, I appreciate your time and effort for this video! I'm Mexican and in the U.S. and I can also feel the sadness of such a big loss. AN 225 was a beautiful marvel and was like a living being in our hearts. She unselfishly gave many years of good service carrying super large and heavy loads with a good service record. I accompany you in your grief.
I remember Dmytri Antonov from another interview, those who, like me, are big fans of the Mriya (and have seen countless youtube videos about the An-225 adventures) I am sure are heart broken to see this magnificent machine in such sad state. Let's hope one day we may see her soaring the skies again.
It angers me to know end that they destroyed these aircraft!!! There was no reason to destroy those airplanes it's very depressing to see I'm so sorry Antonov. Sending love to 🇺🇦 i seriously hope that they rebuild her/225 thank you Captain Denys for the update. Stay safe ✈ ✈ ✈
The complete 225 is registered UR82060. The destroyed plane is registered UR82009. So the destroyed plane was not the 225. It was a mocked up 124.....So this is PROPAGANDA perpetuated by UKRAINE.
Sad to see these wonderful great airplanes damaged!
Thank you for your translation Denis, well done! Although painful scenes to watch...😔 Stay safe brother!
Very sad to see those images, I watched your friend's video and cried looking at the state of the poor Antonov 😢
It’s a shame to lose a one of a kind plane, very sad.

God bless you and all innocent injured People 🙏🏻❤️ It's also so sad to see so much destruction. Greetings as train driver and aviation enthusiast.
Absolutely heartbreaking and senseless on so many levels. Thank you for sharing this video, Denys. Please continue to stay safe and keep the world informed of events in Ukraine - you are still in "radar contact" my friend!
Absolutely
It was necessary to cripple Ukraine, but it will be better.
I've watched a few of the long video's that were made of the 225 flying to different places around the world. I enjoyed watching them. A beautiful aircraft. A shame a few more weren't built.
So eerie seeing this and thinking back to 2014 when I got to spend a few days walking around her. Glad I got the chance.
Thank you for the translation. I missed the an225 when it landed in my city last year, I though I would be able to see it in the future
Those of us in the commercial aviation heavy lift business feel your pain regarding the senseless destruction of these unique aircraft. We here in Calgary, Alberta Canada always looked forward with excitement to seeing them and the flight crews each and every time. The human losses are difficult enough to understand but the destruction of the Antonov business and all the others too we don't understand why. Please know we here in Canada grieve your losses too and are with the rest of the Western world doing what we can through our governments to bring an end to this senseless violence perpetrated against the Ukrainian people.
Absolutely heartbreaking and maddening. We are so sorry for all the destruction & pain you & your Country is feeling. Stay safe & stay strong 💪 ✈️💛💙🙏
Thank you very much for this. The 225 visited my airport in Norway some years ago. Very impressive sight. These are only "things" but still very sad to see all the destruction :(
That giant once visited my home country in the Philippines. Somewhere in the Region of Cebu a few years ago. In Mactan Airport, there it was...the massive AN-225 arrived to aid our people in the aftermath of Typhoon Haiyan. It was of course carrying the UTC Overseas Power Transformer from Zagreb, Croatia...legging it all the way to Cebu.
Пам'ятаю як він махав крилами на день незалежності 😭 I remember him waving his wings on Independence Day 😭
Man, watching this makes me both sad and very mad. I've been subscribed to Dmytro's KZhead channel for a while.
FLIR (Forward Looking Infrared) Yes... night vision. Day vision too, provides visual contrast by differing heat signatures.
The An-225 wasn't just an airplane; it's an icon that's the equal to the Concorde, etc of the 21st Century
I worked at the MSP airport for nearly 20 years and saw this aircraft up close in person multiple times, it was a thing of beauty. I cannot believe that this is the same aircraft. Praying for all Ukranians.
loss, loss everywhere. unbelievable...
Frankly, we are saddened by the loss of this jewel that used to light up the sky. Hopefully it will be fixed so that this plane can return to the skies
I used to watch the Mirya come in over my house. 22 landing gear! Sad to lose that amazing aircraft. Just tragic. Heartless Russians.
I liked your video. Not because of the destruction. But, because you're 100% right about pilots, and aviation enthusiasts having an attachment to certain aircraft, and aircraft in general.
Rest in peace legend you are a great plane I’ll never forget you
I saw It in San Francisco California. It was a Truly amazing craft.
The world stands with Dmytro, you, and the Ukranians that Antonov Airlines will regain a new footing.
All world you mean west union? Go back to school mate, you lost some geographical sense
Very sad i pray for Ukraine 🇺🇦🙏stay safe denys🙏all the best for you and your family, best regards from germany
As an Aviation Geek this was so sad to see. It was an amazing plane!
Thanks for showing us the devastating destruction of all those Antonov aircraft , especially the 225. It is so sad to see, hopefully some of those aircraft will see life once again or provide parts for others to fly once more! I support all the efforts of the Ukrainian forces to win their fight against the senseless Russian Aggressor ! Best regards Stephen Taylor (Canada)
If the plans and specifications for the materials used for building this airframe still exist, it can be rebuilt. They should sell the aircraft of the Russian elite that have been seized and use the funds to rebuild the aircraft or finish the other airframe if its still available.
breaks my heart to see this beautiful plan destroyed, I hope they will work on the second AN225 that is 70% complete but the project was abandoned in past years.
Went to see this magnificent aircraft land in Perth Australia . I have no words
Hoping that war end soon captain! The whole world knows it all. Glory to your country the Ukraine! 💪❤️🇺🇦
I love planes from all over the world. They didn’t just destroy a airplane but a worlds biggest and one of a kind plane
So sad to see this magnificent aircraft destroyed. It was iconic! I have flown this aircraft in Flight Simulator and it sure takes nerves of steel to master it. I do sincerely hope the funds and the technical knowhow of your Aviation Engineers at Antonov do indeed manage to rebuild Mriya eventually. I can fully understand this will take many years, as there are far more important concerns in your Country that will need to be addressed first. My sympathy for all in Ukraine at this difficult time and know that we in the UK have you all in our thoughts at this time.
The engineers who created this aircraft in the USSR have long since died. And their grandchildren ran around Kiev with fascist flags and shouted "Heil Hitler" and "Heil Bandera". There have been no engineers in this country for a long time, there are most beggars.
Denys, I have ultimate respect for Mriya and what she's achieved over the years. Honest question, and I don't mean any disrespect: Can Antonov use this as an opportunity to rebuild her to modern capabilities? 4 modern GEnx engines versus 6 legacy engines? With no space shuttle on her back to shadow her flight controls, maybe she can have a traditional tail and rudder? Either way, I know Ukraine will rebuild her as they should
Hi, I don't know. But probably you are right. We should use modern technologies. I am not sure about the engines. It is hard to make the plane with new engines and certify it...
@@PilotBlogDenys There will be aero industries with highly skilled aircraft engineers and technicians around the globe ready and willing to advise.
It`s so heartbreaking to see so many aircraft destroyed, and i do hope they can re-build the 225, it`s unique, and needs to be re-built if it can. Although depressing to see such aircraft destroyed, thanks for a great but emotional video.
Thanks you're okay. Sad x saw those buildings and the hangar.
Thank you very much for this really informative shocking Video
Your facial expressions tell us a lot of how much stress your under. Hope you make it out the war and I hope you fly one day
For the mirrored ball on the lower tail section - I would agree that it's probably a thermal imaging camera
Wow!!!! I am sorry for the loss of lives in this conflict. I am so sorry for the loss of this unique one of a kind air craft which was used to help humanity in so many ways. Life is unfair. Wish you Dmitriy & all the Ukrainian people
Thats so sad and heartbreaking! I was very impressed as i saw that plane first time. I come along with my heavy loader and my first thought was, oh they can load truck and generator together. 😀 I can feel how it hurts in your soul. Keep strong guys!!! 💪Hope we see us one fine day!!!!
Denys, thank you so much for such a cool and articulate video. There is absolutely no need for any Ukrainian person to apologise for anything, especially emotion!!
The turret ball you see on the downed Russian Helicopter is FLIR (Forward Leaning Infrared) it provides video for night time flying. And can pivot rotate zoom in to locate targets or other search capabilities.
Such a crying shame that beautiful aircraft was destroyed. I had the pleasure of sitting in the cockpit of that aircraft. I am a private pilot and was once in charge of the fabrication of a rocket transport fixture. It needed to be transported from California to Florida and the only plane big enough was the Antonov-225. While the load masters were installing our fixture, i was invited to the cockpit. Hard to believe it's gone.
Also when you mentioned the thing on the burned Russian helicopter, I think it's a camera for monitoring enemies, maybe? You can see the reflection. (Or night vision as you said)
I got no words for this,so sad love to see flying around the world.
Very sad that the biggest plane of the world came to an end! 😢
i felt like crying when i saw yr mriya a plane that was for everyone that needed it .
At 6:45 that's definitely a FLIR type camera system . It uses infrared light spectrum to see. Most gimbals like that incorporate thermal imagery as well as night vision and infrared imagery.
Oh that will be a legendary resoration documentary.
War is always the worse thing to happen because not only innocent lives are lost but also beautiful planes like the Antonov 225 Mriya and many others.
This is so sad to see.💔 Edit: I'm glad the employees are okay, though.
The deeds of animals!
It's very sad to see such a beautiful piece of aviation destroyed.
I cannot imagine how hard it is to see this video. My only consolation is that given the strength and intellect of the Ukrainian people; you will rebuild and recover. I am angry that NATO was not actively involved in you defense. Peace be with you and Ukraine 🇺🇦. Thank you for the work you perform in translating this. Please encourage Dimitry to read the comments in this video.
Breaks my heart to see this…I’m speechless …
I admired, loved & found An-225 very fascinating :(
So sad to see these incredible machines destroyed :(
I feel very appreciative that you translate this video for the audients. Please do more video translations like this so that people can understand what actually happens on the ground. Relying 100 per cent on media is definitely not a good idea.
oh we are all so very sorry ! its awful no words can express the hurt you must feel . again so very sorry x
I followed the story of this plane for years, I can’t believe it’s gone, so sad :(
Hi I'm in UK🇬🇧 and have seen this Thank you so much for your film footage,,im so so sad 😢 to see this,,my words cannot describe how much for what they have done,,,!! to these ,✈️✈️✈️ plane's my thoughts are with you all in Ukraine 🇺🇦 🇺🇦 🇺🇦 God bless you all 🙏🙏✈️✈️
Rebuilding the aircraft will not be economically viable, but perhaps it should be rebuilt for historical and symbolic purposes.
Right
Thank you for the report. My "Like" is only by respect of your coverage. Aircraft manufactures should rally to get Antonov back in the air.
the upside, if there is one, is that the wings and engines, expensive parts no doubt, survived. I don't know if the wings are reusable but the engines look to be and we know one of the engines was brand new. The fact that there is still a fuselage seems to be a good omen that is all they need to rebuild it. the whole plane probably went up from the hydraulic fluid. it's highly flammable.
I watched a program about this amazing plane last year, truly tragic that it's been destroyed
Love from Bangladesh 💞 💞
Such a terrible waste, not only the destruction of the AN-225, but all of the buildings, aircraft and facilities. I wanted to one day see the AN-225 live but never had the opportunity. Condolences to Dmytro and the other crews and also the people of Ukraine. 🇺🇦 thank you for the translation. 🇦🇺
Good 👍 work insha'Allah Ukraine. Win . Fight
Thanks for the translation. I will say though that the Russian Helicopter was a Mi-17. The Mi-24 has a much larger tail. I really hope the An-22 flies again.
An-22 is lovely big cutie❤️❤️ i pray for her, i wanna See her again! At LEJ❤️❤️❤️
Thank you for this video
Heartbreaking everytime I see an image like these.
You will be back flying we support you it’s just terrible everything, keep telling us what’s going on. 👌
That helicopter at 5:53 is a Russian Mi-8AMTSh helicopter used by Special Operations. That round thing on the tail section is the L370-5 IR jammers, with the countermeasures pod behind that.. which appears to be open/empty. You can see another one of those same IR jammer pod on the winglet. Looks like they had a bad day! Sad to hear about the Mriya.. I was hoping to be able to see it in person someday. Such an amazing aircraft! I heard there are plans for the An-225 to be rebuilt! Fingers crossed that this happens in the near future!
This is my second comment, sorry. Just wanna say thanks for everything. I've been watching you for a while and just wanna thank you for absolutely everything. Keep your head up in the tough times. Slava Ukraine 🇺🇦 and love from Canada 🇨🇦
❤❤✈✈🙏🙏
Prayers are with you
If I’m not mistaken the other 225 has all the struts, and those wings can be saved and used.
The thing You wondered on the helicopter is cameras and infra red equipment used for night flying. They also tracking devices for targeting.
24:20 yes you use that wing if structurally sound, an225 used the same wings as an124, the third engine is mounted on that wing root extension, the rest of the wing is an124 wing as far as my knowledge of this craft goes. An225 is An124 derivate (intended for soviet buran space program), it uses same engines as well.
This is so very bad and a loss to the world, thank you brother for sharing!!
This is a terrible shame. I walked through that beautiful airplane when it visited Paine field in Everett Washington in about 1991. Let’s hope another one is built soon.
That purple thing you asked about on the helicopter is for Heat Seeking, so it’s to detect things like body heat and other things like hot guns, heat from any underground bunkers and so on. Worth millions of £££ so they should sel it on eBay and put It towards the fund.
The AN 225 will rise like the phoenix from the ashes. It will be bigger, faster and have more modern avionics when it is rebuilt.
