One of the most special videos of wildlife I have seen! A calf is stuck in the water and can't get out. After 10 minutes of determination, the herd manages to rescue the baby elephant.

Too stupid, it can be in the river earlier
Moved me to tears … We (humans) have so much to learn from these beautiful and loving animals.❤
Hi
I agree to a point. Have you ever seen a video of men rushing together to lift a car off of a victim? There are countless examples of people doing extraordinary things together to save others. I think most people jump at the chance to be heroic. It's quite a contradiction to those who commit crimes against others.
I love how even the little ones were trying to help. Elle babies always get themselves into so many predicaments! But it seems to make them even cuter! 🐘 ♥
What a beautiful example to humans. One of the things I most admire about elephants,is their strong sense of unity in family. How they work together,to solve their challenges and problems.I love to see the way thei care about their babies or calfs.I love elephants!!!!.
Yes, but it is a female union and not a heterosexual couple relationship, as with us humans. Elephants live in gender segregation. Homosexual behaviour is normal among young bulls. I believe that lesbian relationships are natural.
Everyt single time the Baby Elephant fell back in the water I wanted to cry....he/she was getting so exhausted but, her Mother & the herd never gave up on her. The cries of frustration was so endearing to me. True gentle giants of the animal kingdom....Pure Love!!!
The momma elephant screaming just tore at my heart. I am so glad they persisted and rescued the baby. Amaxing creatures!
they're amazing animals, so intelligent... They're working together to get that baby up, a lot of animals wouldn't be smart enough to do that. Ugh I love elephants so much
so shiting on your baby is smart
+Suck Balls She did to get traction.
Elephants can feel stress when a calf goes missing, and even when a different herd finds a dead baby they will stand by it and feel sad. Elephants have complex deep emotions and I love them so much
@@coyotefever Hi
Absolutely BEAUTIFUL! I was holding my breath, and gave a big sigh of relief along with you when baby finally got out. how fortunate to witness such a sight. :)
Truly incredible video of the intelligence and emotions of these gentle beasts. The herd trying to tell the mother to leave as it's hopeless but her not giving up. Animals never fail to amaze me and they put a lot of humans to shame. So glad they saved the baby and I shed quite a few tears.
It took them more than 7 minutes to figure out to go around shows how not intelligent they are
@@user-up3dd1vw6b Better then you,It is for sure.
None of the herd would leave the baby to die in the river!! They allowed the mum to calm the calf on her own....... coming back to go into the water was the only way to do it ❤😊
不知道為什麼,我也流了好多眼淚😢
I am constantly amazed at the comments I read on you tube. The majority of people who comment cannot do so without saying something negative and using filthy language. I remember my mother teaching me, "if you can't say something good don't say anything at all." Still holds!!
Your mother is a very smart lady, but I think you misunderstood her, I don't think your mother meant for you to complain about people who need vulgarity to express themselves. :)
Youre right ..this is a great example of love and team work . And the majority of people comment something stupid . Its a shame .
Shut up Shelley. We don't need your 2 cents.
kichansilva GO FUCK YOURSELF!
shelley annette yes my mother said the same, I wish more mothers would do so
Beautiful, heartwarming video the way they all worked together to save their loved one. This is another reason why elephants are on "the top ten list" of most intelligent animals.
Incredible to hear the elefants calling out and the mum tried to use her leg for the baby elephant to grab hold of and then how the other elephants got into the water and pushed the baby elephant out. It moved me to tears.
That's what mothers and auntie's do! I love how they all crowded around and gave comfort to the calf once he was pulled to safety.
This was beautiful! What a team! Elfephants are my favorite animals and this was a heart warming moment to watch how all the elephants put in effort to save the baby calf. Amazing video!!! 💙💙💙
I have love elephants all of my 65yrs. Why are people so full of greed to slaughter these beautiful creatures. I want to be involved in saving these intelligent animals
Dnt tell me that they dont have strong emotions!! Its so very obvious that they have great concern and affection/love for one another...not just the mother and calf but the entire herd was in there trying to help. I am continually amazed at how complicated and multifaceted the social life of elephants is! I wish everyone could see that they are SO much more valuable than just the ivory they are murdered and pillaged for.

Actually most people do, but it just takes a few assholes who don't to ruin it

That elephant actually convinced me that he was trying to make the floor less slippery for his baby with its own poop. Holy shit. Literally.
+CorssaKov I agree.
Agreed👍🏻
😂😂🤢🤮😅🤢
I learned when they get OVERLY upset, that happens. And it is also a message to baby. Did you know, elephant baby's HAVE to eat some dung for physical health? It also gives them some comfort. So, mom was giving baby some food to eat. I know it is gross, but that is nature.
Слоны невероятные животные.Видео вызвало полный восторг и умиление.
The love and determination to save the baby was overwhelming. It amazes me that such huge powerful Ellie’s can be so gentle when it comes to protecting each other. Amazing footage. Thank you for sharing such an unforgettable sight.
Aww my heart was in my mouth. At some point I thought they had given up on the poor baby.I should have known better because elephants are so loyal, sensitive and clever.I love the way the whole herd comes together to help.I love elephants !
I was so worried when the elephants keep leaving...then I realized they just went to regroup and come up with another plan....and it worked.
Yes.. they just said to the mother, u just wait here with the baby... we ll go n get our homies in a moment... when they arrived, they were like holy shit..what is he doing in the water.. lets get our boy back..

Yes nice 👍🏻🧡❤️💛💚💙💜
It appears they had a couple of plans, when one didn't work the mother told everyone to leave and she took a couple of steps away to make the calf really want to get out or he may be left there alone. When that didn't work she offered her leg for the calf to latch on to but that didn't work so back to another plan and the younger, lighter elephants got into the water to push out the calf. If the bigger elephant got into the water it would have been much harder for her to get out due to her size and weight. At the end of the day, the baby was rescued and the elephants and humans are all very relieved. I bet it slept good that night.
Yes theyre not leaving or mistreating their children. Wonderful to see this
I watched the video. But in lieu of one, you nailed it!
You explained that brilliantly! I wonder how they communicate all this.
So you know elephant language 👍
Yes, I kept thinking they were looking for stuff to help the baby get out lol
This is too BEAUTIFUL! A herd of elephants trying to save a little calf. AWW! Animals are clever and kind
They never gave up,so lovely to see them strategizing and making attempt after attempt, the whole herd together! Magnificent great hearted beings full of love!!!
Such a sign of intelligence and how even animals believe. No one gets left behind.
Using her leg....very smart.... These magnificent creatures were so stressed.....act better than some humans Human need to protect beautiful creatures like elephants and other species..... NO POACHING, ban of force labor at circus.. ban on trophy hunting....
cooldayjan Yes they take care of their young what’s the matter with human beings killing their babies in the womb and now all but three Democrats voted and defeated the born alive abortion survivor protection act. If the elephants knew they would be horrified. But God is on the throne and his anger is going to come against such evil
Bans on IVORY sales. More poaching that has decimated this animals. To kill a majestic animal for it's tusks is SICK. But SADLY these people that live there are poor. AND EVEN MORE SAD is that IDIOTS PAY THEM FOR THIS CRAP. So as long as idiots pay for it people will do it. Sickening isn't it?
@@EdsterIII agreed 100%

I agree all you
What's amazing is that while others left to think of a plan, the mother never left the baby. Mothers are amazing ❤
Humans should learn from these magnificent creatures as to what unity is. I could feel the anxiety of the mother when she went back and forth to save her loved baby. In fact made me emotional.
Made me tearful this . . . . .Grown man but proud enough to be honest and respect the joy of nature!

Such a beautiful thing. These creatures should never be hunted, along with many of the other creatures. If society continues at it is now, our great grandchildren will never witness such moments.
I love this . If you were to see this live with only a few people , it would change your life and the way you think about the little everyday things we all take for granted . I went on Safari in the Serangetti in 2007 and it was one of the greatest experiences of my life ! I highly recommend all humans make a trek to Africa to see what will once be gone if the planet stays on schedule with man eventually killing everything . The peaceful parts of Africa and the people there are one of the most magical places and on earth .
I sat on pins, and needles watching the Calf being rescued! I was aching for the baby!🐘♥
Very proud of the camera man in allowing us to see the magnificent elephants in the wild handling critical situations. What a heart stopping situation. Thank you for this beautiful video.
It is only man who finds "love thay neighbor" in his bible, the rest of the animals are born with it
Elephants retired to the bush to discuss strategy. Push baby towards a gentle slope it can climb and then give it push and pull out.
Probably since at the end they seemed to know pretty much where they were going.
Discuss strategy. That's good. made laugh. But your right.
Is that true?
dutch You don't know either..everyone is speculating what they think...its your opinion on what they are thinking same as anyones opinion on the section..no one knows what the elephants were thinking same as the so called experts
I saw a compilation of animal videos whereby the elephant mom and calf were in the water but the little one couldn't get up the steep hill. So, mom picked her calf up under the stomach and put it on a broken tree limb and it worked. Both were able to regroup with the rest of the herd.
Magnificent display of teamwork and love. ❤
Awesome footage of the love, intelligence and persistence of elephants. Love elephants.
Wow elephants have more compassion for each other then human beings do
Bütün canlılar, yavrularının kiymetini biliyor, ne muhteşem, annelik duygusu,
The maternal instinct of elephants is nothing short of amazing, and heart warming.
They each tried ..walked away ..,retought it...but they were never to leave no one behind....you know these elephants share hearts
Does not seem to be a single comment about how smart the elephants were when they were putting their trunks in to check the depth and work out the best spot to get out before they herded the calf to it. Okay they tried to get him out the "conventional way" that elephants seem to do for a while first but then one thought to test the water and that's what got him out ultimately.

Amazing! Parenthood is not easy. Although they tried to leave, but their hearts did not let them go without the young one. Thanks for the video.
I will never take my opposable thumbs for granted ever again.
ikr...😣😊😌
😂
Opposable thumbs? I would settle for good old-fashioned team work. Elephants are so awesome!! Thanks for this video, and thanks for the love, I really needed to see it.
Are you thinking about and appreciating your thumbs right now?
They didn't need thumbs. They could've just pushed the baby out with their heads. Asian elephants appear to be more intelligent because they tend to use better tactics and tools. An asian elephant would've just been like- no problem, I'll just push my head against your backside and push you out, but african elephants just freak out for 30 minutes before figuring out a solution.
anyone notice at 3:39 the mother slaps the other elephant with her trunk like "get outta the way! this is my kid!"
and the other quickly gets off it's knees and leaves...without question. lmao
If u Look up Tiger star THAT AN Ugly Baby then watch this again u will see something similar.
If you look closely, that elephant is actually just want to take a drink xD
The slap is more like “ hey my turn to drink, get outta the way”
More like your plan sucks piss off
Every Elephant needs a Herd ! Magnificient of intelligence and empathy One foe all and all for one !
Wow, elephants are so intelligent and extremely tight with love and compassion for one another. Incredible ❤️
Beautiful! I am so glad they didn't give up on saving that baby. God bless these wonderful amazing creatures. So brave
This is beautiful. People don't understand how elephants work but they sure are fast to talk smack. Even some humans wouldn't even care to go back and help out.
I'd go back for you...
What are you ranting on about? "Talk smack"? Wtf?
Talk smack about elephants being dumb.. have you not seen the comments?
Cindy Castelblanco What all four of them ? I don't think there generally the smartest of animals, but i know the have an excellent memory, so they learn off there mistakes.. That's a form of intelligence.
they're* their*
Such loving family all supporting each other
Incredible!!!!!! Absolutely blown away by this footage.
maybe there's something about the water that they're afraid of. thumbs up for the brave one who went down the water and pushed the baby up off the mud.
I was wondering the same, perhaps they weren't sure how deep it was and if there was a strong current. And maybe they figured out if there is a current they can work together to pull out the baby and the one that went in after the baby too.
nah, i think they are only scared to get stuck too. Many elephants get stuck in places like this, and due to their weight it's hard for them to get out.

Elephants and cetaceans are extraordinary. Their entire lives revolve around family. Much more committed to family than humans are. And unlike humans, they're not driven by greed, violence, destruction, (no fiscal sickness here). Just devotion to family. Humans could learn much from these intelligent species.

I went back and forth holding my breath and giving my running commentary.
And they praised that brave elephant who rescued the baby.

BEAUTIFUL!! So beautiful!!💕
Heart touching 😭they are pure souls ❤
very inspiring and it is worth a case study! Every time they tried and failed they took a couple of seconds break, came and tried again. When they identified they couldn't do it using trunks, they tried by pooing for giving the calf a grip or for getting on to something more serious, gave the calf their legs, pulled the calf from back instead of pulling its trunk. The rescue or other expert team came in between and finally they figured it out that they can actually get into the water to push the calf out. Very strategic and group work. I really don't think they take that much time to figure out the solution. They might have bad experiences at that spot. Good one 'Kruger Sightings'. This is the first time I got to look at this channel. Nice sightings. I'm going to google up about 'Kruger'

This isn't surprising. Elephants are one of the most emotional creatures that exist. Truly these majestic badasses deserve a gold medal
This is an amazing video. From the comments, it's interesting to notice how we try and interpret animals' actions and intents through a human lens, for instance, when people ask, "why did the herd keep leaving?" What may seem like cruelty or indifference to us may be something altogether different in the elephant world - really, we have no idea why they kept leaving and returning, and in the end, the elephants obviously knew what they were doing, since they were successful in rescuing one of their herd.
elephants dont abandon their family. If they left is because the mother wanted, maybe the mother wanted to try a plan on her own.
