Can I set the macro key without downloading and installing the software every time when switching to a new computer?
It looks better than the Corsair but I love my volume roller.
How is linux support on this. I have a corsair k90 and support for linux is utter crap. the lock key notification lights don't even work (caps and num lock functions do work). The one this I do like about the corsair, is that it's is easy to clean as the keys are floating above the base, which this keyboard seems to mimic. So this cougar seems like a nice upgrade if it plays nicely with linux.

***** lol I just very right now talked to Cougar and the representative told me that website that stocks it now probably is for Europe only, and they told me that as of now US market doesn't have this item available yet and confirmed that US will have this item for sale in September:( so basically sign me out lol I can't wait that long even tho I love this keyboard and mouse combo they offer it's just too much waiting for me since I'm putting together my rig this month as VII Z97 formula hits the market, there is new upcoming keyboard mouse I'm aiming right now, in case of this ones availability I'll still be happy to own this set as well:) it's Asus ROG GK2000 and Gladius optical mouse, check it out if haven't heard of it so far ;)
***** this is indeed a nice keyboard:) but unforinately it comes with red switches only:( yes I did call to US office the the guy said MAYBE it's already out for EU market even tho he wasn't sure, but even if its out for EU market that 130$ keyboard can endup costing -+150$ after shipping and taxes so it seems a bit too much for my taste:( I want brown switches as well since it's the sweet spot for typing and gaming as you can't really type long on red switches, but I think i might get this Asus keyboard for gaming and some random keyboard for typing only :)
***** I'm completely down for that comparison lol:) it's just Asus's keyboard release date isn't clear either, they just say it's gonna be in Q3 but no any exact month, yeah I do like browns since is the best from both worlds(gaming and typing) but if I end up getting this Asus's red switches then I'll get another cheap non-mechanical keyboard for typing, it just kinda sucks that there isn't really variety mechanical keyboards available... if Asus release it without questioning I'll get it if not then I'll be forced to go either with ROCCAT, Razer or Corsair :( I've had all of these previously but don't wanna get the same ones any more, needs something new:)
***** I think Roccats are fine as whole but might have some quality control minor issues but nothing serious since I've had one and it was just fine except a few keycaps kinda bent/popped out. Razer has this keycap problem since as you said it's cheap chinese made keycaps but they've their own switches called Orange switches and they are almost like brown switches but I find it to be expensive for what it is. in other words the perfect/ultimate mechanical keyboard as of very right now would be Corsair K70 with brown switches since this keyboard screams quality and comfort(had this one for 2 months as well) and I guess I'm gonna get it again if none of these keyboard show up soon:)
***** yes that's correct, the keyswitches are indeed their own, it's keycaps that aren't their own and made my cheap plastic manufactured in China, and it depends how we define their "own" part, obviously at the end of the day its just a damn switch lol that you press, so they call it their own since it has different actuation and release point and they have very little tactile feedback on press, but I wouldn't go with Razer keyboard since they are overpriced. I want another because I just simply can't get over its simplistic look lol that might sound weird but that's what it is... originally I wanted to get the brushed aluminum version of this k70 keyboard but when I was about to purchase they ran out of it so the only ones they had was black aluminum which looks really simple(until you touch it since it screams quality everywhere and its damn heavy) I just like more "futuristic" looking gear, but if you don't have this pet peeve I'd highly HIGHLY recommend you this k70 brown switches keyboard over anything else currently or even upcoming keyboards. you know we are excited about this Cougar keyboard as well as Asus's keyboard but its unclear wheather they'll be using quality switches and keycaps like Corsair, there are quite some mechanical keyboards and most of them fail to live up to standards of decent mechanical keyboard.

Doesnt look like it, but you can always replace the keycaps and reprogram it with the software.
Finding the AZERTY keycaps with the same design seems like impossible, and i dont really want nor have to do that. It's a shame because the layout and features are very good, aswell as the design. Gonna have to find another promising keyboard with macro key + volume wheel + media controls in brown or red then.

I was mostly talking about the color, even a small variation can really kill the design IMO, i'm a bit picky about the looks of things, i like when things are beautiful AND functiunnal! Because for sure i could put the keyboard of my razer or logitech on it, but it would be slightly different in color and shape. and i'm sure it would be noticeable. Although it's an extrem example, just see the lastest logitech keyboard with its sick caps. But you are tempting me to try it, though.

Bought this keyboard, best keyboard I ever owned and will ever own. Only problem I have with this keyboard is during gaming it sometimes freaks out and sets its own macros and I move around in circles uncontrollably for a few seconds.

It happens from time to time, just change between the different macro buttons (m1, m2, m3). It's probably a glitch that occur in the keyboard's 32-bit ARM processor. Other than that little problem, the keyboard is perfect.
Do you use the software, and updated firmware? Maybe is something that has been updated?
happened to me one time until I recognized that I accidentally hit the MR button when I wanted to press ESC or move the keyboard during gaming ...'cause the repeat-macro was put on my "W" key that I used. After resetting the profile and/or deleting the macro I never had this problem again. When u get used to the layout I think it won't happen again. Still pretty happy with this keyboard so far.
