This video features the Cougar 700K Gaming Keyboard with Cherry MX Black Switches!

The 700K is made of plastic, with an aluminum backplate, for rigidity.
This keyboard comes with a USB 2.0 passthru port, and mic and headphone passthru jacks.
Included is a palm rest, with a detachable rest piece, that can be positioned on either side of the palm rest.
The space bar has been split in two, and the right space bar is labeled G6.
There are 6x G keys and 10x additional keys that can be programmed on this keyboard!
You also get dedicated media keys, and I love the isolated volume mute button!
There's even a Macro Record on the fly button, so you can change up commands in-game.
And you get onboard memory with support for up to 3x profiles.
Of course, what gaming keyboard would be complete without backlighting?
The 700K is equipped with full orange backlighting, and you get different lighting patterns too!
There's even an option for per-key illumination!

The G6 on the right has sense when you are playing WASD, the thumb is used to spacebar jump, so is perfect because the right hand is on the mouse you would not be able to use G6 as spacebar easily, for example in WoW.

sadly like other mechanical keyboard, less than a year i experience double stroke problem, sometimes i can fix the problem by hitting the keys very hard repeatedly, that temporarily fix the problem, but sometime intermittently comeback. there is no customizable sleep back light animation is also a let down, it also not an rgb backlight. The rough brushed aluminum finish also make the keyboard harder to clean, the magnet that keep palm rest pad a little bit weak, it come off too easy. (note : i'm using brown cherry k700)
This keyboard is pretty nice. I checked out the JTL website too. Very cool!

It's nice that more keyboards are including USB passthroughs, but it's sad that they're still all 2.0 when more and more people are now having 3.0 ports available. Very nice review as usual, Joanne.
Tommy Tindall I agree!Very useful, so I won't have to reach behind my PC to plug the USB connector in, for a mouse for example! Yes...I can't go back to USB 2.0 speed transfers lol.
I have the Corsair Vengeance K70 Silver and this isn't all that different, so I like the Cougar as well, it looks very nice. If I didn't have any of these now, and were going to buy one, I'm not sure which I'd choose.

I think you should be able to program the spacebar for whatever you prefer.. left or right as g6 button. Other than that, good feature cause my left pinkie is not controlable so cannot use shift ect if playing games that requires it

Not sure if it's me, but I'm hearing some audio issues. I'm hearing a slight fuzzy echo that's happening in this video.

This or the Corsair k70 LUX for mmo? (I already have a corsair mouse with enough macros on it so i am sure that keyboard macros don't matter to me)
That being said the macros might come in handy, and I do not care for RGB so would this be almost identical to the k70 LUX in terms of hardware?

razer = SHIT, it's overpriced and offers very little for everything they made. You should ask the same question, but with something with a better quality, like Corsair for example.

Cherry MX Red has red LEDs, if you want other colors then choose ether mx blue or mx brown (white leds)

No Joanne, _I'm_ not happy with the cherry MX options this has. Where's the rainbow switches huh!? A switch that literally has every color in the rainbow. In all seriousness that's a great selection of potential cherry switches for consumers to choose from so kudos on them for that one. What isn't kudos is the funky space bar design. I appreciate the thought behind it but really, there's a reason that the standard keyboard layout hasn't changed much in all these years. Yet another awesome video though!

Great video as always. This is definitely not my style for a keyboard. I dislike the idea of split spacebar and I despise the extra column of keys not just in general (which I do) but for how close they are to the rest of the keys. When using similar keyboards I find myself every day to press those extra keys by accident when I am trying to hit Control or Esc. Hate them since my G14 10 years ago. There is a way to both have them and not be in the way, but none that I know chooses to proceed that way. The rest of the keyboard looks good to me. Not that I am going to abandon my current one for any keyboard just now. Heh, the "party mode" lights scheme would make me worry there is something wrong with my PC. The software looks good.

Richard M Thank you but I tend to buy keyboards with the inverted L Return key. My current one is the Sharkoon Skiller Pro which is a very good keyboard for a very low price and most importantly, has the Return key that I prefer. :)
