For the past few weeks I have been trying to make a Kuksa with very little luck, so I thought I would try using a harder wood (cherry). This turned out to be the right decision with the end product having a beautiful deep orange base colour with pink stripes.
WoW that is one noiceee Kuksa great wood for this type of stuff, absolutely great mate 👌
Very nice. Thanks 😊
It looks really good :)

Nice work with a beautiful end product. Was that a frost knife you were using?
Thank you it means a lot. Yes it is, its a Mora (Frost) 120 Woodcarving knife
Très beau travail.🙏
Merci
Nice! What do you use to finish them? Is danish oil acceptable? Linseed?
Thank you, I use bees wax for the inside so it is waterproof and raw linseed oil for the outside. Yes, Danish oil would work great along with raw linseed oil or any other food safe oil. Hope this answered your questions
Nice work!! I want to try my hand at this. Curious, after you cut the wood into the block, what was the approximate dimensions? I’m overseas right now and wood is hard to come by. Thanks!!
Thank you, it means a lot. The block was about 3 inches (7.6cm) in width, 5 1/8 inches (13cm) in length and 2 7/16 inches (6.2cm) in Hight. hope this answers you question
Из берёзовой капы отличные кружки получаются.
абсолютно, я видел удивительную куксу из березового капа
very nice kuksa👏what kind of oil do you use? how do you sharpen the curved knife?
Thank you very much it means a lot, I used beeswax for the inside to make it water proof and linseed oil for the exterior of the cup. For the hook knife I use a round wooden dowel with different grits of sandpaper (180-2000 grit) wrapped around it, then once I'm happy I use some leather to take off the burr. Hope this answerd your questions
👍thank you
