Nice cup, for a pre-lathe period version from birch, try search finnish kuksa albert karhu. Carved version is probably pre-historic and typical for northern regions from Scandinavia to Japan, from saami to ainu.
I really like this design, something about this shape reminds me of a drop. And it interacts with liquids... beautiful
