  • I love the symbolism when we see Arthur climbing the stairs earlier in the film. It's a mental struggle because of how miserable he is, how much effort it takes to keep his head straight in a world that does not give a shit about him. But the dance downwards is him just giving in the madness in himself. He does it with such a relief and enjoys himself. Just accepting that this is who he is. A man no longer struggle upwards, but dancing downwards.
