He did get what he deserved
@@anmoldani6258 The whole point of the movie is that Arthur wasn't born a psychopath. He was mentally ill, but harmless. But when the world does nothing but hurt a man for as long as he can remember, how can he be expected to do anything but want to hurt it back? The movie brought a lot of parallels to Frankenstein for me. The Creature wasn't a threat until his environment convinced him that the only way he could assert any sort of control over his surroundings was to lash out and hurt others just like he had been hurt, much like Arthur himself. Just for the record, the three Wayne employees he killed WERE awful pieces of shit. Murray may not have deserved a full on execution, but he wasn't a nice guy either. Joker's not wrong when he says people are awful, but that's partly because he had the misfortune of being surrounded by shitty people, Gary and Arthur's neighbor being the exceptions.

This scene is just so perfect. It's hard to put into words why that is, but your intuition can just feel the realness of it.
Because (I’m sure there are tons of reasons) the body language the joker displays is pin point accurate as things progress. Most movie characters might be interesting, but are almost never realistic. The joker was real in his reaction
When I went to see it, everybody in the audience was silent long after this scene. So real. So tense. Superb acting.

He played this part like no other one of the best actors our time... that scene with Murray it's so true you never know what someone is going through or what they have endured throughout their life. Makes you think twice how we treat one another.
The leg bouncing when he kills Murray really sells this scene for me, believe it or not. Arthur just killed someone. On live TV. In front of people. He realizes this, and for a split second you can see him wonder what in the world he just did, and he gets nervous about it, hence the leg bouncing. But that goes away, and the leg bouncing doesn't express stress now, it expresses the adrenaline rush as Arthur becomes the Joker in that one scene.

It's a dichotomy of two people misunderstanding one another. that's why it's so perfect, it replicates everything wrong with debate and being truly social with one another. Lack of empathy is all it takes to bring down civilisations.

This is easily one of the greatest performances I've ever seen. There's probably little chance that Hollywood will acknowledge this publicly, and give him his due at the Oscars. Isn't it strange that the media doesn't want a film to be popular that encourages anarchy against the elite. I'm not an anarchist at all, and was actually once law enforcement, but I can appreciate the sentiment of it. How can all the press be so silent on this brilliant movie that has made over a billion dollars?
@Ruben O. I didn't say it was political.
@Ruben O. I was saying that the press and Hollywood have shunned Joker and left it alone at best. That's rather strange for such a well-acted, written, and directed film that has grossed a billion dollars. I mentioned anarchy, but in more of an anti-elitist role. People against the rich. I think that's about as overtly political as it gets...though Wayne does run for office, doesn't he... I actually for got that until you brought up politics. 😅

The irony is, that if Murray had taken him seriously, he might not have gotten killed. Murray disregarded Arthur so much that he didnt realize the obvious cue that he would be harmed by him. To me, one of the best things is him pointing the gun at himself as a red herring. As he is telling his "another joke" I felt like it might piece together, that he is describing a person (himself) who is about to commit suicide, the voice cracking at "I'll tell you what you get!" sold it to me enough that the "YOU GET WHAT YOU FUCKING DESERVE!" legitimately caught me by surprise (and Arthur as well, apparently).
“They couldn’t carry a tune to save their lives” Lmao
I know there's a joke in it, but English is my second language and I don't get it. How is getting shot related to carrying a tune or... well... what's the joke...?
@@mac1991seth The idea that he killed them because they couldn't sing is so rediculous it's funny
OH CAUSE THEY WERE SINGING SEND IN THE CLOWNS I GET IT NOW
@@DoveCalderwood Oh, ok. So it is full on Joker humor.
@@mac1991seth when joker and those men were in the train, one of the men tried to sing a song, and they sounded bad, so now joker is saying that they couldn't sing(they sounded terrible), and they died for that
The way Joaquin gives Arthur such an insecure tone to his voice at the beginning of this scene and it just escalates to mad confidence with every word is just wow
Kevkas04 I was about to say no one else like this comment, but too late
Kevkas04 *Arthur
@A Frustrated Gamer I re-created this exact scene with myself in place of the Joker. I actually digitally inserted myself into the scene, so it looks like Robert DeNiro is talking to ME and I am talking to him! It took a very long time to make the video and I don't even know if many people will watch it, but I thought someone might like to see. You can share it if you want: kzhead.info/sun/o9iigtujZ35miaM/bejne.html
Clippy pretty self-explanatory, sport.
@Clippy no one asked, brat
