I have never seen that at 11 years old | ONE HOUR TRANSFORMATION EPISODE 15

2024 ж. 18 Мам.
161 224 Рет қаралды

Today, I met my friend Reita, an 11-year-old Japanese player with whom I trained a few months ago, and his self-coaching abilities left me speechless. His remarkable technical skill set is nothing compared to his mindset; he plays like a true professional.
He played the final of the Open Super 12 Auray in March 2024. It’s the first junior tennis tournament in the world for the 12 years old.
Every observation I made during our previous training sessions was meticulously noted and improved upon for this session. On this occasion, we focused on enhancing his aggressiveness, the depth of his shots, his footwork at the net, and his kick serve.
If you aspire to improve as much as Reita did in six months, stay tuned for more tennis-related videos.

  • Hey guys great video so far I'm about 3:40 into the video, the shots are cool, and I definitley appreciate it as a videographer and video editor, but as a tennis viewer the edits are really jarring and distracting. The perspective change is too quick for something of this caliber. It may seem like you're overdoing it with all the angle change. I highly recommend two static shots in the back courts. And then one person with a tele lens on the side lines. It's ideal to change angle inbetween points, but in between each stroke is a bit too much. A tennis game will be interesting to those that enjoy tennis and should therefore not be overcomplicated. I know that the critique can sound harsh, but I do appreciate the effort by the videographer and editor to change up how tennis lessons is viewed online though! So, points for the effort :D

  • Thanks for another great video. Could I suggest that you please stick with one camera angle during a rally? Switching cameras every time the ball is hit makes it difficult to watch. Leaving the camera on one side of the court makes it easy to watch. I always enjoy your full length videos. Thank you for all your tips.

  • I'm 4:31 into the video... It's the IQ for me, the way he picks his shot shows a lot of thought process behind. He is aware that his 11 year old body isn't fully developed and lacks power, and court coverage... Which led him to develop a much more strategic game, the way he picks his shots based on opponent's positioning, the way he uses the lack of power or a slower ball to counter your movement, he makes you move weirdly throughout the court and then finishes you off. And the best part is that he is aware of all of it, which makes me believe that he will continuosly improve. The only point in his career that I could see him struggle is to adjust his game while his body develops and gets more power, which is a problem that all the players face, and still have to worry about all the knowledge and awareness this kid already have. Thank you Patrick for showing us this amazing talent!

  • it makes a lot sense that young kid with a lack of power to have long loopy swing in wta style. I am thinking perhaps i might have it done wrong to teach my son ATP compact style at 11. He's 12 now and he's got pretty good modern forehand.. but he is kinda struggling with timing and high balls sometimes and i wonder if modern atp style has a little to do with it instead of a long loopy take back... what's your thought coach.

The kid looks amazing now, but maybe his interest changes in a few years, he maybe doesn't reach height of 1.75 meters, which is a minimum for a top player in modern tennis. I can see many are delighted with his one-handed backhand (I use it), but it looks like a weakness nowadays. So far so fantastic.

A la place, pourquoi ne pas mettre une caméra un peu plus haute dans l'axe du court ? C'est ce qui retranscrit le mieux les trajectoires et les effets des balles tout en ayant une vue confortable pour le spectateur.
