  • I actually totally understood what Zack was saying. I love that he didn't just praise but offered some really honest and helpful critique. I fall into the camp that I didn't really love RM Part I or Part II (though Part II was the better half, imo), HOWEVER, I remain pretty hopeful for the R-rated cuts. Snyder's directors cuts have universally been better than the neutered releases, so I think there's a real chance I will thoroughly enjoy RM when the authentic version is finally released.

    • Ugh, he's had his dues and respect back in DC stuff and justice league. Which were great. He had a movie style. But I feel his works better for superhero stuff. His work on war and shooters gets old real fast, slow motion gets overused and doesn't have the same impact or purpose when done with hero type scenes. His effects decision to put light refraction on just about anything gets annoying to look at too, imo It would have been ok for just a few types of projectiles or sabers.

  • Unpopular opinion: Zack Snyder slow mo shots look cool, but somehow also very fake. Very not real. Like slightly too enhanced. I feel like it's often the fact that there something that's shot in camera, rooted to reality, but then there are other CGI elements (sparks, lava, fire, smoke, light, flares etc.) added that simply are too over the top. And the full CGI slow mo shots (think falling Wonder Woman in Justice League) are just uncanny because of the virtual camera movements.
