  • Bryan Cartago was a stand-out. I got chills watching his performance, both as an actor and the fighting. He’s someone I’d like to see come back… but actually get some more serious acting jobs. I looked him up on IMDB part way through writing this comment. He’s obviously highly skilled. Hope he gets a Scott Adkins career arc. 🇦🇺 is impressed.

  • Guys… the title is “recreating fighting styles from Avatar”, not “recreating bending styles from Avatar”. That is why we don’t see any bending here, except for that air guy who blew off the steam from the tea cups. I’d love to see the elemental bending too, but the short is actually so awesome that I just decided to just forget the bending and enjoy the show.

    • Yeah, this is an awesome martial arts short but it’s not exactly ATLA and it didn’t particularly feel like a Corridor production either.

      @LeeChesnalavage@LeeChesnalavageАй бұрын
    • @@LeeChesnalavage I mean, it wasn't, it was a Gui production. It said in the title "fighting styles" not "bending styles". It definitely was ATLA because those are the actual martial arts styles the cartoon and live action both used in developing the bending styles. Next time you watch either show, pay attention to how the people are moving, not just what the elements are doing. And I thought it actually did feel very Corridor, even if it didn't have the usual CGI they're known for. So yeah I agree it would've been cool to see the bending effects, but there's no way they'd have time to add those in the time constraints, and it was still a fun short film either way.

    @lilPopper@lilPopperАй бұрын
    • Probably the specific style of "Rule of Cool", i.e. a mixed grab bag of whatever works for what you want to accomplish in a scene. I imagine adhering too closely to a sub-style would be too limiting, and not particularly productive when you're already altering the style to incorporate bending
