Two iconic Zuko lines were cut from this episode: “You rise with the moon, I rise with the sun” (it explains the relationship between benders and nature) and “My father always said she was born lucky and I was lucky to be born”. I hope at some point those lines are included in the live action series.

I get zuko but I felt like katara was watered down.... & Then they decided to call her a master was pretty dumb change for the show she was never a master by this point but feels like the whole Disney Rey Skywalker Mary Sue to me they got to make her awesome by elevating she went from zero to MASTER. I dunno just my opinion but I don't get what exactly about katara could make her a favorite. Just curious what things make you feel that way

@@crescendyr8438 in original show... She was good & talented yes, but she wasn't considered a master when she fought Pakku. He refused to train her & the fight she had changed his mind plus the necklace thing too. He decided to train her. she got weeks of training before the battle, which makes sense & afterwards was stronger than his students. After the book 1 finale she was considered good enough to teach Aang waterbending with a box of scrolls to continue studying from. But the Netflix show she fought Pakku & he called her as good as master right away... then kids started calling her master katara & then battle started & she said I'm a master to zuko. All happened within a day or 2 in the live show which Skipped all the training from masters & they oversold she's a master right away in the live show. Kinda similar to Rey in Star Wars. Even in the original show people had issues with a couple weeks of training & getting master status. But skipping that altogether means she achieved master status by the Pakku fight. I dunno but wasn't a fan of that.
@jb.cloud4u2 he called her a master not because she is one but bc she is the only skilled waterbender they've seen who's faced combat against firebenders. A war was happening and she made him realize he needed her, and put her in charge of a sector. Thats where the master title came from. And It's about her confidence. She's not officially a master yet.

She seemed to self train and master bending before she ever got to the north. Look at her fight with Pakku. She was already a bad arse. What did he actually do to make her better? And she calls herself a master in the live-action, not Pakku. So you can take that claim with a grain of salt. She is nothing like Rey. Rey didn't even have any training whatsoever. Katara actually trains and develops her skills before she ever meets Pakku in both the live-action and animation. Rey didn't even have any idea of what the Force was.
Part of why I love these kids is because they all understand their characters sooooo much. Like bro that plays Zuko, I feel like he understands zuko’s character so well. And I rly hope they all get to continue working on this production 🤩😫

I'm not complaining the acting skill of Azula and Mai in Netflix series (I believe they have cool acting skill to the point they are choose to act) but I can't accept how they look, they look too chubby (I'm not starting a body shaming here, I'm just stating the truth that their appearance not fit with how the original azula and mai were projected in the animation) why choose the chubby person to act as azula and mai, when the fan-made film in the re:anime the one who act as azula are waayyy more befitting !!

I keep looking at the live action Mai and wondering how on earth Zuko could ever end up with her 😂 Imagine if the live action retconned the end couples and gave us Zutara!!! We haven't seen any sparks between Aang and Katara so far (in the show, Aang had a crush on her early on, and even gave her a necklace that was his love token for her), but there is ALWAYS the possibility for Zutara!

You have to keep in mind that Zuko burned down her village, manhandled her grandmother, stole her necklace, tried to capture Aang like 100 times, betrayed her in Ba Sing Se which nearly led to the death of the Avatar, and is part of a nation that gave her so much trauma. The amount of trauma Zuko caused her can eventually be healed, but her falling in love with him would definitely be a bit of a stretch, considering their past history.

So, it seems like that part with Kia saying that Aang gave Katara the confidence to fight Zuko and kick ass… felt kind of an add-on just to keep Aang in the conversation. 🤷🏽♀️ It’s one thing to say Katara was fueled to improve in her skills and self-confidence by Aang’s belief in her, but another thing entirely to say that Katara was fueled by the confidence she found in herself with the determination she has to protect Aang at all costs… and that’s what I think makes this show different from the cartoon. In the cartoon, Katara never needed validation from Aang. It was Katara’s headstrong nature that got Aang out of the iceberg in the first place, and her resilience thar made her fight with Sokka, Zuko and Pakku back before she could even master a water-ship… and her impeccable work ethic that made her become such a badass bender. Aang was the lost kid she found and felt the need to protect, moreso when finding out he’s the Avatar. It bugs me how this show is making Katara seem like a timid little sister, the one who’s insecure and lost in her identity, seeking validation from her brother and a kid she just met (whom she’ll inevitably idolize for the rest of the show). I want to argue that when it comes to Katara’s badass development as a character, Aang doesn’t always have to be put into the conversation. Katara actually influenced Aang more than the other way around, and she trained herself and became her own hero while the world waited for one to be realized. 👑
I feel though if they want to go with the route of Katara/Aang in future seasons, this was a good move. Because in the OG, she does more for Aang than he ever does for her while for a good romance, it should be more equal. She needs to be supported too. I'm a Zutara shipper but I loved that moment for Kataang fans.

I’m glad they got renewed, sure there where problems with the show , but remember their performances where shot almost 2 years ago , I wonder how much more of their craft they have learned , they also look like they have fun together off screen and that does end up translating to the screen The original Animated series will always be superior but some people might not want to watch a cartoon series
Acting was so good in this scene and so was the dialogue it didn't feel cheap when they were doing some lines 1:1 but the whole Katara saying she was a master when we didn't really see Katara waterbend all that much or just have one fight with Pakku was a little off but otherwise loved this scene
