There’s just no way to justify this move. They either plan on getting a rookie, which means Zach is just gonna be a backup, and you already have a better backup in stidham. And so they just gave up a 6th, even if it’s not a high pick it’s still potentially valuable, for nothing. Or they plan to start him, which doesn’t even need to be explained why that’s such a bad move. Dude had 3 years to show what he could do, and that’s while on a jets team that actually had Super Bowl aspirations unlike when someone like sam darnold was their qb. And he showed he was trash every year. It would make the trade good, as giving up a 6th for a starting qb is great, but no way could you actually try to convince your fanbase or your players that you’re trying to win by starting Zach Wilson

Still this narrative that Josh Allen has never had an o-line or running game. Last season, the Bills RBs had the second highest yards per carry in the league behind the Ravens. They just didn't use them because they wanted to feed their darling Allen. For the o-line, it's pretty hard to protect when Allen keeps taking 12 step drop backs from shotgun. He's so far behind the line of scrimmage that the line is basically punt protecting. Defenders just have to bull rush in a straight line to get to him instead of curling around and then into a pocket.

Do you guys understand that if you’re not making a blockbuster trade, then you’re developing a young guy… that’s how this league works. “ Denver doesn’t have one starting caliber qb on their team”. The same could be said about a rookie quarterback. Wilson is the same age as a lot of the rookie QBs coming in the draft. It’s like no one has payed attention to the history of the game. This is how stars are made or duds are exposed. @@KingRusss Honestly, im ok with it. We needed at minimum another qb in the room. If we dont draft a qb this year in favor of adding depth or filling other holes via best player available, its a better long term investment. We are really strapped on both money and draft capital. We paid a late 6 round draft swap for a position of need. This is dirt cheap. If he has a spark, payton will find it. Hes had terrible coaches in his first 3 seasons, no line, and zero direction. Worst case he winds up a backup to the qb we draft. Bedt case, he shows up in camp and gets hinself a starting job and proves hes a 1st rd talent instead of bust.

There’s just no way to justify this move. They either plan on getting a rookie, which means Zach is just gonna be a backup, and you already have a better backup in stidham. And so they just gave up a 6th, even if it’s not a high pick it’s still potentially valuable, for nothing. Or they plan to start him, which doesn’t even need to be explained why that’s such a bad move. Dude had 3 years to show what he could do, and that’s while on a jets team that actually had Super Bowl aspirations unlike when someone like sam darnold was their qb. And he showed he was trash every year. It would make the trade good, as giving up a 6th for a starting qb is great, but no way could you actually try to convince your fanbase or your players that you’re trying to win by starting Zach Wilson

@TheHighlanderprime I'm a Jets fan. Once you've played for us, you're garbage moving forward. Only exception recently may of been Geno Smith, yet it was several seasons/teams later before he had any success.
That’s not true of all players that played or were drafted by the Jets. We’ve lost people that went on to have really good careers. We are notorious for tossing quarterbacks into the wood chipper though.
I guess this is the downside to riding the hype train on all these first round QBs they just might get traded a couple seasons later.
Still this narrative that Josh Allen has never had an o-line or running game. Last season, the Bills RBs had the second highest yards per carry in the league behind the Ravens. They just didn't use them because they wanted to feed their darling Allen. For the o-line, it's pretty hard to protect when Allen keeps taking 12 step drop backs from shotgun. He's so far behind the line of scrimmage that the line is basically punt protecting. Defenders just have to bull rush in a straight line to get to him instead of curling around and then into a pocket.

If we dont draft a qb this year in favor of adding depth or filling other holes via best player available, its a better long term investment. We are really strapped on both money and draft capital. We paid a late 6 round draft swap for a position of need. This is dirt cheap. If he has a spark, payton will find it. Hes had terrible coaches in his first 3 seasons, no line, and zero direction. Worst case he winds up a backup to the qb we draft. Bedt case, he shows up in camp and gets hinself a starting job and proves hes a 1st rd talent instead of bust.
