This guy is from Germany. He speaks almost perfect English (apart from the accent obviously) and he seamlessly converts metric to US units, he talks about US specific things like he was born there. Let that sink in.
@phục êwê 2
Intelligence, sooooo rare in the US lol
Tells you what's wrong with the US education systems doesn't it. Not just Germany, but the difference is funding education as an investment in the future, not a budget expense.
Genius
I am german its not that hard
I like this guy, he was laid back, calm very well spoken, and very knowledgeable.
Awesome rig, wow. And the builder is such a gentleman. Very nice interview.
Inside starts at 10:38
Thanks! I appreciate the guy explaining, but im saving my data haha.
Thanks
Thank you for this service
Thank you, good man
Ron Sterud Thanks
It would be very gratifying to be sitting outside this enjoying an adult beverage at the top of some gnarly Jeep trail when the first 4x4 makes it up that morning and they realize you dragged 10+ tons up there and spent the night.
twenty six ton ( 26000 kg ) for the truck chassis. the numbers are amazing on this thing
@@RedmistAU That's the max total, including payload, not the actual weight.
@@ihmesekoilua that model of MAN has a GVM of 33t
trails? youre gonna need an adult beverage cus if you try to do anything remotely close to what a standard 4x4 would youre flipping over.
@@RedmistAU GVM of 33T maybe, but he specifically stated it was about 16 tonne complete with all fluids. I noted it as I am really interested in something like this, but its simply too heavy for me. I deal too much in really sloppy mud and when something like that goes down in mud, its stays there. You have to move heaven and earth to get them out! Dont ask me how I know. :(

@Scrotus Maximus The Civil War was America's deadliest and most horrific war. All wars are horrific but the American Civil War was the worse, so let's respect all those who died and gave the ultimate sacrifice and lets dispense with the Civil War 2.0 nonsense.
He was so humble when the host mentioned earthroamer and pricing
Yeah just $250k to $750K. Who does not have that just lying around? ;-)
I seen this truck driving up 59 north I waved at the young gentleman and his wife . Amazing
Awesome vehicle. I think bridge clearance would be more important than ground clearance on this guy.
What bridge? This thing crosses river lol
Syafeeq Said alot of off-road bridges have load rating and only vehicles upto a certain weight can cross them.
wonder how he passes through tunnels
This is the size of the international I drive, not only would you probably have to have a CDL in the states to operate this legally but would definitely limit where you could go. Imagine someone taking this behemoth to MOAB, how long before it's stuck?
usually bridges is about 4.5 metres above ground.. and the legal limit of trucks is avout 4 metres max. Expedition trucks usually goes to around 3.8 metres high... including the a/c unit on top of the box
So basically it’s a zombie apocalypse truck
For Walking Dead only

Awesome video, even my wife liked the truck. And that's a huge accomplishment.
Saw the 4-wheel version of this on the road around here recently. It was desert tan, appeared to be brand new, looked like it was 15-feet tall, and my first thought was that it was a military vehicle, but looking closer, I realized that it must be privately owned... may have had some type of European tags. Went right to the top of my shopping list! : )
If he switched to the Goodyear MVT tire they come in the same sizes with just a little bit less aggressive tread ( still military/off road design) but have a 88mph top speed and run a bit quieter.
What a monster vehicle this is! A warm hello from the Special Territory of Yogyakarta, Indonesia.
This truck would make everyone slow down to 90KPH on the highway just to gawk at it, It would be the motorized version of everyone following Forest Gump. Amazing rig.
Man that is badass.. I would love to go on a long trip on that beast from Alaska all the way down to chile..
You mean alaska and Chile, no?????
I am a truck driver from Bali, Indonesia I like your video very good
Interesting that they actually accommodate normal trucks not just the large military vehicles. I'd say reasonably priced too all things considered.
I saw this driving around Yellowstone about 3 weeks ago. It’s a massive truck.
Ronald Boursaw Jr. And I live here and I didn’t see it .. see earth roamers all the time
Ronald Boursaw Jr. you probably saw an EARTHROMER, made here in USA, for a hell of lots money, about 2x as much as the M A N , CHEERS FROM NJ
Leighton Samms nope. I saw this exact truck. The driver and everything I remember him. I have a picture of the man that looks very similar to the thumbnail.
@@flybyairplane3528 He probably saw what he said he saw.
We saw it several months ago in Big Bear at a show. Awesome!
I love that you're reviewing off grid overlanding vehicles, my passion!
Cool to see your rig on this channel, Andreas! 👍🏻 Save travels !
I believe I saw these guys a few weeks back pulling out of a KOA and they flashed all the lights for my son. Such a beast of truck 🤙

@@grievuspwn4g3 no country has made a tank heavier than the Maus Some have come close like the Soviet Union but still Germans like to oversize everything
Elle. “Complete with surprising access to firearms” ?
IKR!
@@grievuspwn4g3 they make some of the top firearms in the world, as well as the top vehicles (on and off-road).
It is really interesting that they will basically build a box on anything with a frame and wheels. You can have it on a cab and chassis van or use a pickup minus the box, HD trucks, anything, they will build it! The cost? Well, they are expensive, but they have no wood or anything that really deteriorates, so the unit is a lifetime unit. Some of the regular commercial units like a regular class C motor home just wouldn’t survive off-roading.
right, people tend to see just expanse, but in some cases you get a lot for it and the details make dramatic difference, materials used, custom box inside out, they would probably put in some tech preferred by customer as well
67, An American RecreationVehicle would crumble to dust off-highway. Staples into particle-board?
@@largemarge1603 - your lack of knowledge is overwhelming. That or you have some serious biases. There are several “American” builders that use no wood at all. Their builds are not unlike this. You have made yourself look like a fool,,,,,,.
Went to Abenteuer und Allrad couple of months ago. They had several of these on display. This video doesn't do justice on how large these behemoths really are.
This thing is the ultimate rolling "Man" cave!
I would love one of these with the lifting top to get that loft. Those are so nice. This guy from Germany was in Yosemite touring North American going all the way down to south America. He had us in for beers. It was so spacious. The huge U table seating. Now only if I had a million dollars and we could import current Mercedes and Man trucks into the US.
Aren’t there any sensible trucks for sale in the US?
@@TrolloTV There are but. I rather newer Mercedes Chassis or Man. Can find parts for them everywhere in in the world. I like the Engines and Drivetrains better than what we have in US. We tend to build off Internationals, BAS and some fuso. Love to get a Zetros chasis. There are work arounds getting them into Canada and then shipping it into the US in pieces. Register them as a Kit.
Good video, Thanks for sharing ✌
Built it on a 8x8 Tatra frame would be great
Awesome looking. I want one!!!
A true soft-roader! NICE!
Dang, that is one "groß" RV truck!
Yes, I’m doing a build and we’re in Colorado and Wyoming!
i met this guy in yellowstone just about a month ago. nice guy
Beautiful! I love it 😻
The kids are sleeping and we want to “watch a film” yer yer lol
Hello hello hello !!!! 🤣
That's why he said you can watch a FILM!!, You know??. The equivalent of blinking an Eye! Wink wink!! Lol
Too much information, isn't it😉
Wow!! beautiful truck!
Yep, I'd totally rock one of those. Oh the places to take that camping lol😂😏
This thing is amazing
Omg I’d live in that full time 👀🔥
Some day man...some day
Like the interview and the interviewee and the truck ..pretty nice ..
When your neighbor just showed off his new raptor so you need something to put him down.
Very nice rig!
There is absolutely nothing better than German Engineering.
Have you ever had tacos?
Have you ever owned a benz or bmw or vw german cars are a nightmare, plus its damn near impossible to get parts for a man because they are not sold in the us
I love these beast!!!
Wow. Just wow.
Did anyone notice the bottom step going into the cab? It looks to be connected by double roller chain. Neat solution to keep your approach angle and have a reasonably low step. Its probably a lot more stable than if connected by cable.
Awesome truck, but where do you take something that big. I know a lot of trails here on the east coast can’t fit anything near that big, way too many tight turns.
I have 2 questions. Is there a version of this rig available in the US ? Is it possible to customize this truck by having a lazboy recliner put in the truck ?
I saw this truck in Bryce Canyon 2 or 3 weeks ago
Ultimate truck for my mtb trips
What a blast it would be to own something like this.
Awesome Video. I would have liked to see it in action though.
Which vehicle according to you is the best Vehicle to mountain expedition coach! Is it Unimog or MAN?
What a beauty ! - Im day dreaming now lol.
2100 N-m torque, 1550 ft-lbs torque, WOW!
1800 lbs ft tq is common with heavy trucks
Yeah, Mack is upwards of that. www.macktrucks.com/trucks/granite-series/specs/
Big studs = big torque! Torque spec is a function of bolt size and grade/class. For instance, 2100 N-m could be an M30x3.5
This vehicle is 15 years old, the actual MA TGS has 2.600 NM or about 1.950 lbs of torque.
There was also 8x8 model with even more hp and torque
Awesome vehicle!
Thats freaking insane...
ohh my goooawwwd this is aweome. TFL keep doing awesome rv's ggerrrmaans und die vier by vier
Earthroamers are now 50% off after this video and they'll still be making a profit.
Earthroamers are laughably overpriced.
A Volkswagen can be an earthroamer, kudos to all those, no matter income level, who get out there and experience this amazing lifestyle!
Nice rig, one day i com to visit Andrea to make him to construct a rig for me. I like u man, really beautifull explanation abt rig, mostly u got years n years of experience.
Name on the front is going to trigger some people. That rig sweet, I'd like to take a year off and explore in it!
It is a German abbreviation stands for Maschinenfabrik Augsburg-Nürnberg AG. That's why the owner kept calling it M-A-N but the host say 'man'.
Why would that trigger people? Lemme guess, you’re proud republican and really enjoy screeching „SnOwfLaKe“ whenever you can?
this guy travels to Africa with the whole family in a half a million dollars custom made fancy monster truck... I can't convince my gf to eat in that place I want
Awesome owner 👍 👌 detailed ,,
Amazing truck and he introduces concepts I haven't heard. The abiltity to 'disappear' is so important with kids. The fuel costs though must be ruinous.
It's about 3 times that of a pickup truck. So, not that bad. Keep in mind.. if you can pay someone to build this, you don't give one single F how much it costs to fill up the tanks. These are not for minimum wage workers. These are for rich people or older folks who sell their house to make a world tour.
Juicy, Almost daily, some scold chastises us about fuel use. To shut her up, I ask: * "And how many mpg do you get in your apartment?"
@@largemarge1603 Wow! Exactly! It's true, we, I can't quite comprehend some things I'm not involved directly involved in. And we need a little patience to help us understand. But I think you are absolutely spot on. Compared to rent, which is an abomination no one should be burdened with, basically throwing money away, the fuel cost is like paying money for yourself. I get it. Well done.
What show was this at. . . I am guessing it was in Colorado?
That s a cool truck
I met Andreas at a show spectacle in Lake Tahoe this year. His 6x6 has gone beyond Farfegnugen!
You mean "Fahrvergnügen" Or ... Driving-pleasure ?
This is a classic example of a vehicle that is supposed to be able to go anywhere, but not really due to its size.
Well technically it can go anywhere. It'll just damage everything around it.
It’s supposed to cover large distances to travel the world, it’s obviously not made for tight trails
Dear God that rear axle is hugeeeeee!!!
The euros have some awesome overland trucks, what id give to see those brought to the US market..
Saw a MAN like this today!
I LOVE TFL TRUCK
Good old Rand McNally Atlas maps
Oh Roman, the Mercedes Zetros is similar size.
I've taken my bone stock 4Runner SR5 places this thing could never go just because it's so ridiculously huge.
hordboy you can't really compare the two. Your 4runner couldn't do a lot of things this truck can do. Two entirely different things
Sure, but this could also go places your rig can't because of fording depth and range, how much extra fuel would you need to bring to go 1000 miles or more away from a gas station?
But you don't travel the world in your 4runner and live out of it full time. But then again, I don't see any reason why you couldn't.
Now that's a MAN truck.
Please don't use gender pronouns you're triggering my anxiety.

Sure, and it will fit in your glove compartment and hold your papers. 10 grand please. Thank you.
install lie flat beds only lol
Sure they can. So, you would like an cool box in the back right?
I have a shoe box you can borrow. Can store a couple of shoes infact.
The truck is so cool.
this is wayyyy better than the tinny earth roamer...
Parallel parking in Manhattan may be challenging.
Nice truck and nice video! Still quiet basic compared to other MAN offroad trucks. For real high tech watch some recent videos of UNICAT (also Germany) or Action Mobil (Austria). Greetings from Austria.
Unicut is the best you are right bro
would be perfect to go hunt dinasors in some kind of lost world.
BTW I run those tires on a four axle airport firefighting vehicle that can hit 140kph, the official guidance is that top speed may only be driven for up to 8minutes before a cooling phase is needed while either at lower speeds or while parked So 55 probably is a good idea for sustained travel but the tires shouldn't stop you from overtaking ;)
Fantastic!Money.....Much!
First time am seeing a proper experdition truck in America.
4x4 and 6x6 trucks are the ideal off road apartment. its time to end the era of landlords.
Nice👍
My heart says buy one. My wallet says hell no.
I asked my wallet...It's still making this screeching noise. As soon as it's done I'm going to double check.
My pocket asks, "with what" ?

Dan Basham who will know?
How many gears those he have forward?? I dint understand the number he said
Maybe NASA will buy one and send it to Mars LOL
And its german quality ! Nothing is better.
Really like the amount of thought that goes into these, but given I am less of a 4x4 trail guy, it would be cool to see this concept optimized for the road warrior. Fast, light, all weather, but durable. I wonder what the best chasis out there is to get the basic speed etc....after that, pretty sure these companies can make modules to suit the road warrior purpose.
Tatra 815-7 6x6. You heard of 'Bug-Out Vehicle'? Tatra is a Bug-Over Vehicle.
