Army truck to tiny home overlander (the inside is gorgeous)!
Mike has spent years traveling the world in custom overlander rvs, and he has perfected the art of converting vehicles to tiny homes. This is his 3rd overlander tiny house, and it happens to be a retired military truck that he's modified into a modern and surprisingly spacious home on wheels.

This is by far one of the best build on wheels I've ever seen, a cross between a modern Ikea Showroom Interior and a Zombie Apocalypse Survival Vehicle!
And a hell of a price tag lol
I was about to say that about zombie.

I wonder if Mike, the owner of this rig, wants to explain why he took credit for David Pastecchi's fabrication work. Mike also paid over $100k to David for it, so I gotta wonder... WHY LIE, MIKE? kzhead.info/sun/hMiMpcyPe2KBpnk/bejne.html
Oh my days, WAW, please please adopt me, I can cook, bake, clean, this is my ideal life. Stopping anywhere, having a wee swim, having eats, going for a wee walk, Bliss xx
Ok, this one is impressive. Walk inside and it's like a mini home, full kitchen, full shower, full bathroom in a small space and it does not look cluttered. Very impressive build.

Cool but the amount of money he burned to built that truck most people can retire... making at the end really not worth it, especially because getting old is b.tch, as entertainment cool...

I'm impressed with his ability to take credit for work he didn't actually do... and for lying about the total cost. He's got WAYYYY more than 100k into it. Mike bought the truck from a guy named David Pastecchi, a who did the fab work. And he paid over 100k for the truck!

AMAZING....Mike, his home and his spirit. An absolute labor of love. Loved it.
I installed Ikea cabinets in my house 15 years ago. They held up perfectly, look as good as the day I installed them. Although my house doesn't hit potholes.
He doesn't hit potholes hard, his interior fittings aren't secure enough. He definitely won't be jumping the truck like you see squaddies & racers do.
That rig is the coolest thing I’ve ever seen! My fav thing he said was “just get out there & do it.” My fav part of the rig was the rainfall shower. He inspired me to take my dream life by the reigns. Love from TX
This is EXTRAORDINARY! AMAZING! I don't know what's more impressive, your efficiency and craftsmanship, or your eye for interior design. This is such a brilliant build. So awesome.
I found my role model, OMG. There was precisely 0 things I disliked about this build AND video. My mind is seriously blown... and I watch these kinds of things ALL THE TIME!!!!!!!!!! The fold out stairs, the light fixture that unfolds, the _real_ AC unit, the fact that he has a FULL desktop Mac with it's own designated place, the full shower, the full bed, the aesthetic of EVERYTHING.... simply perfect. Truly inspirational - customizing everything to his liking. I had to save this video to my _Life Goals_ playlist ❤ AND he has a OneWheel!!!! Living the dream.

Wow. I was all set to have a negative impression but was blown away with not only the amenities, but the execution, technically as well as artistically. And the layout is just as we'd do it, big kitchen, good size bathroom and desk. Only two niggling issues. I would have combined the shower and toilet into a wet bath to save space, but your execution is first class. Then the bike rack in back cuts down on exit angle. Again, a small issue and we wouldn't rock climb with our RV either. What I love most of all is the money saving ideas so tastefully done. The cab insulation for example looks OEM.
Thank you!
@@drivetheglobe Do you mind me asking how do you make a living while on the road? Or do you just save up enough that you don't have to worry about money?

This guy is obviously rich, smart, and extremely handy at building stuff.
This is my favorite I think I’ve seen so far. I was totally not expecting the inside to look so warm and inviting. I love everything about this truck tho. I think I’d feel very safe in it. The only thing I think i wouldn’t like is that you cannot access the driver part from the back. You have to go outside. As a woman I wouldn’t like that. I’d want to be able to move if I felt unsafe and get out without having to go outside…but this vehicle just looks safe and it’s awesome and beautifully done.

Stellar layout & job. Love everything about the rig. What an intelligent down to earth man.... Nice combo of qualities. Enjoy your life and always be healthy.
Winning pieces for me are the two sinks, the full sized shower and separate bathroom, the stove, and the full bed. He maximized what space he had and added that jutted out extension for his bedroom. What a beauty of a build it is.
by far the best mobile home i've seen on youtube.
Unbelievable! This gentleman has built a single unit by himself, yet he set the bar very high for so many companies out there doing these things for decades. Amazing vehicle, full of smart and practical solutions

⭐⭐⭐⭐ Nice guy, and great use of a military truck. I definitely like the white scheme inside, it has all the comfort without lacking function. Stay Safe & Healthy... Abrazos
Awesome build! My only suggestion would be to leave one or two of the motorcycles with a trusted family member, because that would lighten up the load quite a bit. Just leave the one attached for your use! Otherwise, it seems like a real home, because nothing is lacking, and it looks so secure that he never has to worry about staying safe!
That overlander on the outside already looks good. These usually go for when done up as a motorhome, for around $500.000 USD, fully set up like this off road vehicle.
What a rig! The inside kitchen would be exactly how i would want mine maped out, if i ever could afford such a BEAST 👌 great job done for sure.
If anyone ever asks me what my dream RV would look like then I’m showing them this. Absolutely perfect.
Very humble guy. He insists he’s not a professional but he’s combined the functionality of a truck that looks like it can drive on the moon, with the interior of a fancy studio apartment. What an awesome build!

This guy is freaking awesome! I first came to his channel by looking up bike. The KTM 390 adventure is probably the best lightweight all terrain 2 wheeled vehicle you can buy in it's price range. But I stayed for the lifestyle. His overlander is so badass and for less than $100,000 for all the modern comforts of a home but on the road, that's where it's at right there! I also love that he built it all himself. Respect!

Holy smoke that is a beast and beauty all in one. I would gladly survive the apocalypse in that!
My wife and I had a very similar solar/Aircon setup on our last rig and just in case anyone is curious, those little window units take very little power. I picked one up at Walmart for $150 so yeah, I agree they're a great solution and if it ever fails (they rarely ever do) you can easily afford a new one and there are Walmarts everywhere. It wasn't mentioned in this video, but we could run ours on 425 watts of power, on high cold (full blast) and since we had 1,200 watts on the roof it never even drew anything from the batteries. There was enough power left over that we could also run the microwave, watch TV, etc. all day long AND keep the batteries fully charged. We didn't start tapping into that reserve battery power until a couple hours before sunset but had plenty of juice to keep powering everything in the rig until around midnight every night and still had about 20% to 25% on the batteries by morning which with lithium is still well over 12 volts but then the sun comes up and begins charging them back up. Rinse and repeat. A decent-sized solar setup with lithium batteries is one of the best investments you can possibly make with an Overlanding rig. It's expensive at first, but SO well worth it!
Nice! Good to hear about others set ups.

The fact that this truck has so low milage at the moment it was purchased adding a lot of value for this incredible build. Nicely done, Sir, nicely done.
Nothing like a DOD budget to be able to discard expensive vehicles after 5000 miles.
Most likely belonged to a National Guard unit, they only get ran maybe a few hours/miles a month, they sit about 95% of the time at many units. I was lucky to drive our LMTV at my National Guard unit almost daily as a supply NCO, so ours racked up a lot of miles, but a lot of military vehicles get little use. They sit and idle more than they get driven.
i bought this truck at auction, it came from upstate NY Army base. i built the extension one the back... plasma cut the lifting joints off the truck, relocated the exhaust, built the rack, ladders, brushbars on front, put an rv door and blocked out one of the windows for the shower... repaired many mechanical issues... then a turn of events happened and i sold the truck to him... for more than he is stating and why he is taking credit for all my hard work??? who knows??? of you want to see how i welded up everything.... just email me :)
