This is absolutely amazing. Must feel great to have built this yourself, and then know how every detail works in case something breaks. Super impressive. One day... just need to build a workshop that can fit a truck like this in it first ;)
Thank you very much! Good luck with your project.

Where do we find this guys KZhead channel?
@@Are_we_there_yet_ he has none.
Ya, it'd be nice to have half a million dollars to build your dream camper. And zero responsibilities or duties. Wouldn't it be nice.
This is my dream vehicle, l would rather have this than a lamborghini or any supercar.
Could not agree more with you ! That's why I build my own on this channel.
I would rather have both 😂 I need to win the lottery multiple times at this point 😢
Rather have this than a house
@@isellfoodstampz HOA can’t bother you on this one 😂
We are talking about 400 or 500k. for something that you are going to use a couple of weeks a year. or some weekend. unless you are already retired and traveling the world. To that we must add the costs of transporting it around the world. You must have a bank account with a couple of million, for an adventure like this.
If I had the money, I'd quite happily pay Peter to help build me one just like it. What a nice gentleman he was, and very good at the whole design, and construction. Thank you for filming it for us!
Thanks 👍for your kind comment !
Absolutely!👍 This man thought of seemingly everything. Then, prepared redundancies to the systems too.🤯👏
I used to dream about a military-style motor home as a child, with all the gadgets, bells and whistles to take the vehicle to any corner of the world, yet like a home on the inside. This is way better than any of my dreams! Thank you for filming Oscar, and for your tour Peter.🎉
Thank you for your kind comment !
Every time he says "And then I can..." with that slick smile I want to crack up. He fully deserves to be proud though, this build is absolutely preposterous.
Thanks a lot !
Absolutely amazing vehicle. MAN is among my most favorite expedition vehicles. Peter, you must be one brilliant engineer. Thanks for sharing your truck with us.
Many thanks! For sure Peter knows his rig in and out !
the truck is cool but this guy Peter is my new hero
Thank you !
Peter's build is insanely well done, I love it.
Thanks a lot !
I absolutely LOVE these German/ European expedition vehicles. LOL! If you can't go over or around an obstacle you can just go through it !
Right on! Thank you.
The Aussie ones look sick also
That is one bad ass truck. Talk about feeling invincible against almost any conditions
Thank you very much !
Backbeatpat , I remember you guys , went across Africa in 1978 , with a vw van .encounter overland they called themselves , always in a rush driving even at night to make it from London to Johannesburg in a certain timeframe .through the sahara , with thousands of tracks not knowing which one to follow , they had empty oil drums painted in red and white every kilometre or so , always happy when we spotted the next one , i agree , those were the days
Cool story thanks for sharing !
Love to hang with this guy, seems like he is full of great info and stories.
No doubt!
Love this guy.Imagine building everything yourself
Yes I can imagine that because this is exactly what I am doing on my channel ! Thanks for commenting !
I have seen all kinds of expedition vehicles but I can tell you this one is the BEST of All...1 Wunderbar.
Thanks a lot !
To train on this truck it would take a year to learn how to drive and operate it safely. It's safe to say that this gentleman is the only one that will ever be able to drive it. German engineering at its finest - great job, sir!
Maybe not a year but it would take some time to get used to it. Thank you for your comment.
I don't know which I enjoyed more, the truck and all the work that went into building it or both of your German infused English which was so cute to listen to.
Glad you enjoyed it, thank you ! ;-)
I am in awe of this man’s genius. I wish I had a fraction of his ability. Amazing!!!!
Thank you very much !
We parked beside this truck in Dawson City earlier this summer. It was impressive from the outside. It is very spectacular when I see the inside and to learn he built it himself. We are driving a Promaster 2500 and .it felt like a Volkswagen beside his truck at the Visitor centre. We also did part of the Dempster, but only 70km, ours would have trouble going to Tuk, not like that beast. I will continue to follow your adventures.
Thank you for sharing your summer experience regarding this Overlander. I have a 12ton chassis and when he parked his in front of mine, it looked like a pick up truck compare to his lol.
Awesome every family needs one in America when shit breaks out what a surprise
Thanks
What a talented Man, great rig. 6x6 Man ready for Armageddon Well Done Peter (Petre) 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻

This is an amazing rig. I cannot even imagine what that would cost. When you are that intelligent, you deserve something like this.
Thank you !
@@oscaroverlander_MB1222AF Probably significantly less than buying it finished and customized by someone else.

What a genius Peter is! Only a few humans on this planet with this skill set and patience. Thank you for filming.
Much appreciated!
Very nice! Peter and his Wife are on a perpetual vacation/adventure. Pretty awesome stuff!
Oh yes! Thank you !
I Can imagine how fun it would be to just drive this thing down a long scenic road, man what a beast of a truck!

Lol yes thanks for commenting !
Didn't miss a thing. Thought of everything. Jack of all trades - master craftsman! The best of all time
Thank you for the awesome comment !
Very impressive, pretty much in the military category in terms of size and ruggedness.
You could say that but the truck has way to many bells and whistles to be an military truck 😎
What an amazing vehicle. Even more impressive is how much he did himself. Thanks for sharing.
Glad you enjoyed it
Well you know what they say:" A German does it right or they don't do it at all." Beautiful rig you have. I wish many years of travel.
Thank you very much !
I wish next time you interview a international traveler in a expedition truck you could ask questions about how they address the issue of insurance when moving from country to country. As a Canadian who is about to receive his truck(new) in 3-4 months I have difficulties finding insurance coverage for it. It simply does not fit in their classification for RV ( Class A, B, C) . Theses type of vehicle is just starting in North America and insurers are just not familiar with theses and they don't have policies that fit. Having such difficulties here at home, I'm wondering how it is gonna be abroad. Thanks for the nice video. Keep them coming ;)
Very interesting question as you may noticed I am building my own rig here in BC, which is topic of the YT channel. Facing the same difficulties one little simple advice : ask multiple Autoplan broker ( agents ) some of them are not motivated to find a solution for you, I witnessed it my self. Don't wanna go in to details here. Regards
That's crazy, i just saw this vehicle parked outside my house in Scotland a few days ago and was wondering wtf it was. then i stumble across this on youtube!
Thank you !
@@oscaroverlander_MB1222AF The fact that this happened kind of freaked me out! I'm thinking that maybe this is a message telling me something. Like, I should build/buy such a vehicle and tour the globe. Anyways, I wish you well on your travels my friend....oh, and next time you stop by let me know and I will invite you in for tea 👍🏻
I thank you both of you 😍🙏
Thank you too!
This unit is very well thought out. I take my hat off to this man as I know well what goes into a build as to codes and hands-on inspections. The one thing that tells me that this man is not a fool is even though he has power and all wheel drive he still knows he is going to need those chains and when he said it was him and his wife traveling I said I wonder if he has chains. Sure enough he surprised me. Peter I don't have a degree but I have a lot of common sense and I grew up in a machine shop. So very nice work and I know you have a lot of good days ahead of you with your almost perfect rig. Just leaving room for the unknown. Lol. Drive safe my friend.
Wow what I kind comment ! Thanks a lot for it and I am confident that Peter will turn red a little if he reads it ! Stay safe !
The work of pure genius! Everything is so well thought out and built - one of the best rigs I have ever seen online!
Thank you !
The ULTIMATE Boys Toy.. Maybe for the shareholders of BP or Shell etc
Thank you !
12L straight-6?! Wow. For the range, on the top end of his estimate, you could drive from Washington DC to Los Angeles without refueling.
It seems so. Thank you.
Now I'm new to this overlander world & I have to say that MAN is the most well planned machine i've seen so far, dream machine. I'm in BC the perfect spot for such vehicles.
Thank you very much and I have to agree with you regarding BC !
One of the best authentic walk throughs

lol thanks
German bread and a good coffee ! Perfect 😍
Thank you !
What an amazingly impressive vehicle. Every possible detail has been addressed. Excellent work for sure. 👍🏻😎👍🏻
Glad you liked it!
I WANT ONE!!!! Very impressive, especially knowing he bought the shell and cut holes for his own windows, did the entire interior, and extra tanks, etc. It's not a DYI project for someone without those particular skill sets. BRAVO!!! Well done. You should be very proud of what you've created for you and your wife.
Thank you for your kind feedback and I am sure he is pretty proud of his build . Cheers
Ive seen one just like this in Rapid City SD!❤
Cool thank you for sharing !
this is amazing. my dad has built a few hook lift trucks in our shop over the years for our dumpster company. i knew right away that peter built this himself, and it's so funny when it happens in the video 20 minutes in! haha. "oh wow" haha! peter deserves some serious credit. the dude is a genius. thank you for this video. it's simply amazing!

Beautiful RV! In Canada we are officially metric for over 50 years. However, we are measurement bilingual (sort of). 1000L is ~220 Imperial gallons or ~265 US gallons. Thank you for sharing!
Thanks for the info!
Yeah there is a fair amount of imperial I've completely lost understanding of - gallons, I have no idea, miles also, temperature always celsius - but some imperial is still used bilingually, like feet alongside metres for small measurements like human height, not long. But for distance always km, no one uses miles.@@oscaroverlander_MB1222AF
No one in Canada uses the metric system. Another stupid idea by a scumbag Trudeau.
Fair play, beautiful, would love to travel the world in this, amazing life for sure.
Thank you that makes it two of us !
Impressive! Thank you for the tour.
Glad you enjoyed it!
Unfortunately most of us never finish our projects and the fortunate ones that do rarely have time to use them. Very inspirational. The fact that he travels with his wife and he cares about regulations is really the icing on the cake!
Very interesting and well done. I was interested to know he used IKEA cabinets. I had discounted that thinking they would not be robust enough. I will rethink that now. It sure simplified my plans.
Glad it was helpful!
I saw a van build where most of the cabinets were made out of insulation foam (and some plywood). Ikea should definitely be enough.
What a great build. 👍 🛠💪🏕🤯 Thanks for sharing this beast of a rig.🐾👍 🍞🥖 That's something I miss too. German Bread 🍞 😋 That and the dark beer 🍺 Brötchen, Dunkles Bier und Weißwurst 😢🥰😉😋
Thanks 👍But you should have somewhere a German bakery around don't you ?
@@oscaroverlander_MB1222AF Yes about an hour drive from us. It's pretty decent. We have a German restaurant about 30 minutes from us but it was so bad. We couldn't even finish our plates. I do make my own Radlers during the hot days to quench my thirst.
@@livingworkingoutsidebox tell me about it. We had a German Baker around for years but he retired and the challenge started again, now we found a European bakery they have a decent bread. I stay away from German Restaurants here in Vancouver because it is always a disappointment, better to wait and go directly in Germany.
That is an amazing rig. Thank you for the tour.
Our pleasure! Thank you !
Very great job, good sir!!! Hope you and the wife are enjoying your travels.
Yes, thank you
Wow!! Absolutely amazing!! Peter is a brilliant engineer! Love the idea of a raised floor to hold the tanks and equipment, how easy is it to access? Are there hatches in the floor?
Thank you very much! Yes he has multiple service hatches in the floor.
Bosch(German website) has numerous small dishwashers, the one in Peter's rig uses only 8 liters (2.1 gal) of water for a full cycle and is very quiet at 45 dB. Any normal person would use more water than that handwashing and the dishes would not be sanitized like a cycle through a high temperature dishwasher. My habitat is planned at external dimension of 5600mm and I have a large kitchen designed with lots of counter space, a sink that is just big enough so I can fit a 1/2 sheet pan(18"x13") flat in the bottom, a dishwasher, and double freezers to live off grid longer. The kitchen and queen bed are priorities. I like the 'L' shaped seating, I am considering an 'L' or a 4 person 48" wide booth opposite the kitchen as its just me and my pup. I enjoy cooking and I do not want it to be a hassle to cook because of limited space. The 'U' shaped dining area or large booth styles that take up the entire width of the habitat from some manufactures takes up too much valuable space for just a solo traveler and doggo. I will have a queen bed and the remainder of the space will be a bathroom and allocated for storage. What is the length and width of Peter's habitat?
Nice to have a guest bed though and a booth style works well for that as well as providing storage under the seats. I’ve seen som people put in a lazy boy recliner but I would need the storage locker that the seat provides! My horder side!!
chrisdaniel1339 as always precise and structured. Peters habitat is 6000mm in length and 2480mm in width.
@@oscaroverlander_MB1222AF Yes sir. I figure the planning for my overlander will take 1 year. I do not want to go through a year plus of construction and find there are issues that were not planned for, I want to work out all the details and any issues now before construction starts. Thank you for the measurements.
Any time !
