The fact that Max has to travel at least five hours for every single fight (since for some reason the UFC won’t have events in Hawaii) and deal with severe weather changes from 90 degrees in Hawaii to freezing snowy temperatures in Canada before a 25 minute fist fight is just absurd. I’m surprised it’s not discussed more, it adds to his legend.

I’m pretty sure if it was up to Dana he would have had fights in Hawaii but I think it’s Hawaii itself that doesn’t work with UFC to make it happen

I'm in absolute awe at Max's conditioning, it'll never be said enough. Dude moved like it was the 1st round in the 4th. Post fight interview looked like he came back from a light cardio session.

To me it looks like his strategy is making reads at the start about the right defense to use, he starts by slipping and countering a lot, then when he's got his opponent figured out he starts with the agression and huge combos.

Volks last win against Max was too dominant, it wasn't a ko win, Holloway became a punching bag, I doubt Max can win unless Volk starts declining, I'm a fan of Volk but I also like Holloway

Getting beat up like that would wear anyone down tbf. Cardio doesn't seem like the issue. Max and Volk exist and they're just so much better in the striking department.

He has good cardio, but taking hits over and over again will easily take that cardio away from you. Not everyone is Nate Diaz, Tony Ferguson, or Max Holloway.

@@abrahamfarraj84 he wouldn’t get hit if he began his fights fighting like a man with a ton of cardio. Ortega just walks guys down and eats punches because he has no cardio. If he fought with movement and tempo like khabib then he wouldn’t be getting hit to begin with.

I've always wondered why ortega never shoots much. Like think about it if ortega shoots and his opponent sprawls the neck or the back is right there for him to take. I feel like if ortega mixed wrestling into his fights he would catch alot more people in sneaky subs.

At least Max can take with him that he dismantled Ortega one sided in a way Volk didn't and he arguably beat Volko in fight 2 despite the shut out in fight 1 and domination in fight 2.

Bro stop... other than the gulliotine and triangle, volk was destroying Ortega. Literally Ortega couldn't count the number of fingers Herb put up. Also Volk beat Max 3-0 and no robbery in the 2nd fight
