Alexander Volkanovski is the greatest featherweight of all time. Regardless of what happens in the Islam fight, I think he can come back down and rattle off 3/4 more title defenses. And here’s the part that no one ever talks about: he might be one of the best strikers we’ve ever seen. He doesn’t look like it, but in terms of effective striking, he beat Max Holloway in 13/15 rounds...standing right in front of him. He absolutely mauled Ortega and Zombie on the feet, to the point it was nearly hard to watch. Ladies and gentlemen, that’s one of the best strikers the game as ever seen, like it or not

It's hard to argue that Volk isn't the 145 goat , he's beat both of the best besides him in Aldo , and Max (3 times) I don't like his chances against Islam , he hasn't fought a grappler like him and Islam is gonna have a massive size advantage and Islam's striking is very underrated, he's got a very good jab and left kick to the body and he's very good defensively, I do think Volk will make it competitive and not get ran though easily

@@SBAssociation volk has done well against fighters that bring heavy pressure (ortega,max,KZ) but Islam is a different kind of pressure and is gonna be twice his size after rehydration, volk really needs to stay on the outside and attack him with angles , I'm just worried about Volk kicking too much Islam could single leg him real quick

I think people thought hollway won because they couldn't believe someone tactically broke down max with the leg kicks. So they were just in complete denial. Volk won this pretty convincingly. Max maybe won 2 rounds max but imo 1

I like Max alot but Volk exposed serious holes in his game that have been there for years Max doesn't do well against people with great footwork and faints like Volk , and Max doesn't move his head enough and doesn't check leg kicks , the leg kicks were key in the first 2 fights

Max had a good switch up for that 2nd fight and scored three knockdowns I feel like with most fans the narrative in the 3rd fight was that max was the uncrowned champ especially after battering kattar.
