  • I was going through major depression and went to Pompeii alone to attend this concert. Almost missed my flight , cab driver couldn't find the hotel ( in a nearby town) and had like 30 minutes to pick up my ticket from the office. I had to push through the crowd gathering outside waiting to attend the concert to get to the office. I'm sorry, people. That year we learned my grandma had cancer. Hearing Wish you were here hit on whole other level. This was the song they played to close the gig. When I heard that intro I looked at David jamming on stage with his glasses on. Man, he looked so badass. And then it hit me. Life can be so damn good. I am not giving up without a fight, not until I've exhausted myself fighting for what I want. Giving up is not an option. Shine on! Oh, and thank you to the nice Italian couple who felt sorry for me and took me back to the hotel because there are literally two taxis in Pompeii. I'll always remember you guys!!

I would love to see you play, as when I was younger I didn't get to see you and Pink Floyd. You have such a beautiful gift. It's funny that I don't feel my age at all, but with my wife and our lives together it's totally amazing how love keeps you young in heart! Mr. Gilmour please do one more tour with Pink Floyd! I can see that you and your wife, and your family love you so very much. You are one of the most amazing guitar players I've ever seen! Your music and guitar speak to generations. Please play one more time around the world!

  • Gilmour’s voice is something else. Most singers aren’t able to do their old songs justice as they age but David still has the physical and emotional ability to to tap into that “thing” which makes the song what it is.

    @michaelw6277@michaelw6277 Жыл бұрын
    • It's also impressive because it was Roger Waters that sang this song originally, and Roger was more of a screamer than a singer nearing the end of his classic run with Pink Floyd (I consider their classic run from "Dark Side" to "The Final Cut".). It's difficult to do that.

Totally random glasses just to protect his eyes from the psychedelic bombing. I mean, this living legend did the entire PULSE tour with a pair of gas station blu jeans. Every other rock star would have prepared his clothing with great care, you know, to have a "style". Gilmour just doesn't give a fuck, his style is his guitar, as for the rest no fucks given. • Gail - Did you see Roger Waters' current tour? That was excellent as well. Closest I ever came to a Floyd show. Saw both Gilmour & Waters on solo tours in the 80s, but Floyd was not the central part of either show if I recall. They had solo albums and we're probably trying to distance themselves a little, but Rogers current show is almost all Floyd. Excellent, very visual & very political.

  • 45 years of going to concerts, lucky to have seen countless amazing shows and had many unforgettable musical memories, but nothing - NOTHING! - comes close to seeing Gilmour. Its a silly argument to say this artist is better than that one, as it all in the ears and eyes of the beholder. But in terms of shear epic-ness, the ability to leave a crowd awe-struck by the scale, quality, and power of the performance, Gilmour stands without peer. Thank you David for the amazing memories!

    • absolutely. I saw them six times first time 1972 when I was 14. The best concerts ever. Saw ACDC, Van Halen, Queen, Led Zeppelin.. nowhere close to Pink Floyd concert. They were EXPERIENCES. You relived it in your head for days. The light shows, the huge videos behind the band, the gigantic pig floating in, the huge flower in the middle of the stadium spinning and opening and blasting light while the band blew your mental circuits with One of These Days. our minds were never designed to handle that much rock and roll.

Poor kids these days, how will they look back on the talent- less garbage of so called music that is pumped out today? Sad. No bands will ever be able to touch floyd and the handful of other bands from our generation. Noone has even gotten close. Technology increase,s musical talents decrease.
