The Alan Parsons Symphonic Project "Sirius" - "Eye In The Sky" (Live in Colombia)
THE ALAN PARSONS SYMPHONIC PROJECT “LIVE IN COLOMBIA” - AVAILABLE AS DVD, BLU-RAY, 2-CD DIGIPAK, 3 VINYL GATEFOLD AND DIGITAL
On the evening of August 31st, 2013, a large crowd gathered at Parque Pies Descalzos in Medellín, Colombia. When Alan Parsons appeared on stage, along with the Medellín Philharmonic Orchestra and his band the audience went wild. This is an audio visual document of that incredible evening.
THE ALAN PARSONS SYMPHONIC PROJECT “Live in Colombia” is available now on earMUSIC as DVD, Blu-ray, 2-CD digipak, 3 x Vinyl, and download.
Alan Parsons was 19 years old when he landed a job at the world famous Abbey Road Studios, an important first step on his journey to becoming a world class engineer, producer and artist. Following his beginnings with George Martin and The Beatles, his contribution to Pink Floyd’s classic ‘The Dark Side Of The Moon’ earned him worldwide attention. As a producer he had many hits with Pilot, John Miles, Ambrosia and Al Stewart. Together with his manager and creative partner at the time, Eric Woolfson, he developed the Alan Parsons Project.
Following their debut album “Tales Of Mystery And Imagination“ (1976), they released a series of hit albums; namely “I Robot” (1977), “Pyramid” (1978), “The Turn of a Friendly Card” (1980), “Eye in the Sky” (1982), “Ammonia Avenue” (1984), “Vulture Culture” (1985), “Stereotomy” (1986) and “Gaudi” (1987).
Then Parsons and Woolfson called it a day, but Parsons had ambitions to perform the amazing music live. Now to the great delight of his fans, for the first time on a live video and audio recording, THE ALAN PARSONS SYMPHONIC PROJECT combines the talents of his amazing band with the lush sound of a 70-piece symphony orchestra, creating a very special show with unmatched quality. Together, they revitalize hits such as “Eye In The Sky“, “Don’t Answer Me“ and “Sirius“.
The lineup consists of Alan Parsons on acoustic guitar, keys, and vocals, P.J. Olsson (lead vocals), Alastair Greene (guitar, vocals), Guy Erez (bass, vocals), Danny Thompson (drums, vocals), Tom Brooks (keyboards, vocals) und Todd Cooper (saxophone, guitar, percussion, vocals). Alejandro Posada conducts the Medellin Philharmonic Orchestra

Totally ❤
There's no amount of technology that can replace music played by humans. People can connect to the emotions they project. Machines can't duplicate emotions.
It does, but you have to work a bit to find it. The record companies chose to push image over talent long ago.
You’re right this is great music.
Bravo!!! One of my favourite bands and favourite songs back in the 70s. I am 71 years old and this song, this band will never grow stale. Love it!

Alan Parsons was the sound engineer on The Beatles' Abbey Road and Let It Be and Pink Floyd's The Dark Side of the Moon... no wonder his own music is so timeless. Wow.
Yes, Dark Side of the Moon.

Have absolutely loved Alan Parsons Project and their entire music genre since their debut in late 1960s or early 1970s. My English class talked in depth about how orchestrated members in the group transitioned between sets they performed. All very, very well done by all in Alan Parsons Project. Magnifico!!!

So true.
Friend, life here is only the beginning of the journey.Yes, it passes by quickly and sadly we are all guilty of not "stopping to smell the roses"....so take that vacation you dreamed of, take that parachute jump you thought of doing, mend that friendship you abandoned years ago, and find that love that you only see in the movies!! If you don't take hold of your dreams while you still can, they will simply stay a dream. Cemeteries are full of dreams and inventions that never came to fruition. Our time here may be going by and we can't change that....we can however change what we accomplish in that time. 🚊🪂⏰

What has happened to popular music? These artists had such great ears for harmony, melody, composition, and instrumentation! Fabulous stuff!! 👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏
Rap crap.... That's what happened....we live in times where simple minds relate with simple things.
They still do but the radio doesnt play it anymore because they know what sells to the masses anymore. That mick fellow isn't wrong. We live in really dumb times and dumb times call for a dumb soundtrack
Instead living democracy we live mediocracy.

Alan Parsons is one of the best and also one of the most underrated.

Hello to everyone who enjoys this music
It's an early morning in November and I am searching and found this song. There is something about a foggy morning as s gentle breeze lifts a blanket of fog into a slow motion cloud. The moon has crept through a bank of trees and cast its silent glow on the new fallen leaves. The sound of a voice of a softly spoken chorus can be heard as it magically floats through the early morning dew. ❤
The eye is still up there, and I am still listening here in 2023. Awesome tune. What a performance. Thank all...

Alan Parsons was the sound.engineer for Pink Floyd's ..Dark Side of the Moon album so it.should be no surprise to anyone that he created one of the 80s greatest recorded tracks. And hearing this man sing even in 2013 (when he did this live show) his vocals are as perfect as they were on the album. Sirius/ Eye in the Sky is a true masterpiece of music!! Thank you Alan.

I couldn't agree more. I'm 69 now and I have this album on vinyl. I played it a lot back then but rediscovered the band again recently. With musical geniuses like David Gilmour and Alan Parsons, many of their live performances are superior to the original studio recordings, (imo). The production quality is just so superb.

total! Parson todo un ingeniero de sonido
As a 71-year-old boomer, I was 30 when this was released in May 1982. I also remember discussions with a few of my HS buddies if it was worth the hour's drive south. But a summer store clerk job and being 17 when the drinking age in NY was 18 at the time got in the way of Woodstock on Aug 15-18, 1969. Remember, all we had was AM/FM radio, printed newspapers, TV, and word of mouth said it wasn't going to be that big a deal. Oops!
one of the best things about my 51 years old is the fact, that i lived my teenage years in the 80's !!! that is priceless and I am grateful !!!
We are living in a period of history that is almost totally devoid of cultural expression...I feel so bad for the young people...they have missed out on the rich musical and artistic expression of previous generations. Really...what do they have in their lives? Rap and shit reality TV...it is a desperate state of affairs. They sit inside playing computer games and having nothing to say to one another...apart from posting pictures of themselves on Insta...pretending to have some sort of meaningful existence...it is massively depressing to witness. We have failed the young generation.
So true, Stephen!
Being from the 90´s, I can say that my generations has lived to see humanity exist at its greatest modern moment, and now see it fall too. When it's time to say goodbye, grateful to have been alive to witness it all including this legend is amazing.
From a time period when there was REAL music!
My family went to see Alan Parsons Project in concert last night in Denver, Colorado. It was a fantastic show with great energy from the singer’s. We were told Alan had back surgery in July and he was moving a little gingerly. His band members helped him when he transitioned from keyboards to guitar which was nice to see. We had front row seats which was amazing! We purchased their new album box set with LP, CD, & DVD signed by Alan. Thank you so much Alan Parsons Project for a very enjoyable evening.

Classic, timeless song. I saw AP in the round in Phoenix two years ago. I found out after the show he would be coming out to talk to fans, sign t-shirts, etc. There were only about 75 of us lined up. Understand that this man's career has been a primary soundtrack to my life going back to before high school. As I shook his hand, I felt this overwhelming emotion sweep over me. I was just so grateful. Through my faltering voice, I managed to just get out "Thank you...for everything." He was so gracious and cordial. Really good guy. He signed a shirt for me. And btw- it was probably the greatest concert I've ever seen. A truly magical night.

2024 and this songs brings me back to my youth years after a 30 year marriage and divorce I can feel solitude trying to keep me from smiling but hell no life is beautiful and life will continue and I will conquer!
NO music today even comes close to the music of the late 70's and early 80's! The older I get, I have much more appreciation for the music of those days. Songs told stories and had melodies that were just as impressive. Not many folks will remember today's songs in 40 or 50 years like we did songs like this!
Late 60's to early 80's.
Totally agree, Tom.
I so agree. How fortunate we were to have been exposed to such music, everlasting memories
SIMPLY MAJESTIC !!! I was a teenager when I listened to this Eye in the Sky music for the first time and now I´m getting close to 59 and seems like time hasn´t passed at all. Thank you Alan Parsons and Your Project for keeping fresh sound and lyrics!
Great tunes, I'm also very very very close to 59, but if I close my eyes I can go back in time and forget I'm 59,
I am getting close to 76, and still keeping my eye on their presence in the sky - sowie woanders und woimmer.
A lot of rock doesn't blend well with symphonic sound, but Parson's work does, brilliantly. So damned good! One of my first albums was Tales bqck in '76, and I bought each thereafter. Part of the sound of my youth.
My first was tales and collected the rest. 68 now and still listening.
Mai più artisti completi e stru entisti da sogno che dono avervi vissuto dentro l'anima! Grazieeee bellissimiiii
Bravissimo!!! I'm 54 years. Listening to recordings on CD - there is no feeling of such an atmosphere as at a concert. Thank you for your artwork

Ребята! Молодцы! Спасибо вам за ваши Большие Сердца!. No much can compore to this...an incredible live performance never exceeded..
Currently, I listen to this every day. I get hooked on a brilliant track, such as this & get obsessed for a while. I know the entire concert in detail. He will always be in my playlist. Especially this spectacular performance . I love how he is still performing live all over the shop of the world. He's marvellous. Everything so tight and schmoozy at the same time.
MASTERPIECE? This song is a timeless treasure for the ages to enjoy!❤
