The Alan Parsons Symphonic Project "I Robot" (Live in Colombia)
THE ALAN PARSONS SYMPHONIC PROJECT “LIVE IN COLOMBIA” - AVAILABLE AS DVD, BLU-RAY, 2-CD DIGIPAK, 3 VINYL GATEFOLD AND DIGITAL
On the evening of August 31st, 2013, a large crowd gathered at Parque Pies Descalzos in Medellín, Colombia. When Alan Parsons appeared on stage, along with the Medellín Philharmonic Orchestra and his band the audience went wild. This is an audio visual document of that incredible evening.
THE ALAN PARSONS SYMPHONIC PROJECT “Live in Colombia” is available now on earMUSIC as DVD, Blu-ray, 2-CD digipak, 3 x Vinyl, and download.
Alan Parsons was 19 years old when he landed a job at the world famous Abbey Road Studios, an important first step on his journey to becoming a world class engineer, producer and artist. Following his beginnings with George Martin and The Beatles, his contribution to Pink Floyd’s classic ‘The Dark Side Of The Moon’ earned him worldwide attention. As a producer he had many hits with Pilot, John Miles, Ambrosia and Al Stewart. Together with his manager and creative partner at the time, Eric Woolfson, he developed the Alan Parsons Project.
Following their debut album “Tales Of Mystery And Imagination“ (1976), they released a series of hit albums; namely “I Robot” (1977), “Pyramid” (1978), “The Turn of a Friendly Card” (1980), “Eye in the Sky” (1982), “Ammonia Avenue” (1984), “Vulture Culture” (1985), “Stereotomy” (1986) and “Gaudi” (1987).
Then Parsons and Woolfson called it a day, but Parsons had ambitions to perform the amazing music live. Now to the great delight of his fans, for the first time on a live video and audio recording, THE ALAN PARSONS SYMPHONIC PROJECT combines the talents of his amazing band with the lush sound of a 70-piece symphony orchestra, creating a very special show with unmatched quality. Together, they revitalize hits such as “Eye In The Sky“, “Don’t Answer Me“ and “Sirius“.
The lineup consists of Alan Parsons on acoustic guitar, keys, and vocals, P.J. Olsson (lead vocals), Alastair Greene (guitar, vocals), Guy Erez (bass, vocals), Danny Thompson (drums, vocals), Tom Brooks (keyboards, vocals) und Todd Cooper (saxophone, guitar, percussion, vocals). Alejandro Posada conducts the Medellin Philharmonic Orchestra

One of the greatest Instrumentals of all time.
There is no groups like this now in this world. This was one of my favorite groups and I’m now 67 years old. Brings back old times good times. Thank you for the good music❤❤❤😊
I’m 27 and I first heard this song 20 years ago in a Gundam series. To think that would be my introduction to Alan Parson’s Project 😂👏🏾
I'm 66 on the eve of turning 67 and grew up listening to these folks and it formed my lifelong love of music. Genisis, peter, Toto APP, Dire Straits, Pink Floyd, Led Zep, Yes, Jackson Browne, America. Who wpuld have known I'd still be lucky enough to be around to keep listening again.
Right one,right on!!!
I have no idea how we survived.
I'm 67 Also, Remember Having The Cassette Tape Of This Truly Great Band. They Don't Make Them Like They Used To.
One of my “heady” tunes from way back. I am71 now and still remember the joy I felt listening to this song over and over. It was so delightful to hear a genius and his band bring music back to life! Thank you Alan Parsons Group….you brought my memories of bygone days back and made me feel young and start dancing again.
Ditto.

76 and still get chills
64 here, wore my vinyl out back then. This is acoustically delicious. Different but somehow better. I am in awe.
Im 63,feels the ssme,
A 74-year-old fan here. This man is pure genius. Fantastic production and the best intro's in the industry.
Dude’s a friggin genius! This is a 43 year old song and still as awesome as the day it was released...
@Rodzilla Bet you're fun at parties...
Agreed man...yes he is
@Rodzilla Just shut up.
@@Chordonblue 😁😆lol..
@Rodzilla Really Rod this song is epic and almost a century old and people are still listening to it like it was just released 🌎✌💜😁💯
Remember when this debuted. Now after all these decades, it doesn't get better than this.
I Robot has a very special meaning to me. I was conscripted into the South African army as a teenager and sent into a war zone. One of the guys in my tent had I Robot on cassette, which he would play every morning to wake us up. The 'unearthly' sound made me forget where I was for a while. Sheer bliss.
✌🏼👋
any relation to Brian?
@@colinthomson4014 I'm told that we all fell out the same tree - but don't know him.

Wow ❤❤❤
One of THE BEST ALBUMS EVER MADE ! Couldnt get enough of this album then, and Still listening in 4-2022 🤘✌🙂
One of the purest and most beautiful live performances I have ever seen
Im always amazed with the tour member who seldom gets any attention: the sound engineer. The ability to balance so many microphones and electronic instruments is awesome.
Considering that Alan was the reason behind the sound of Pink Floyd and soo many others as an engineer ; I doubt they get anything but praised when working with the greatness that is Alan Parsons.
@@s.thomasfife1836 I concur. Alan Parsons has had a brilliant and successful career as sound engineer and producer. My early years as a fan, I was amazed with his work on not only Floyd but also the Hollies Air That I Breathe and Al Stewart's Year Of The Cat. Good move on Parsons' part to use Allan Clarke of the Hollies to do lead vocals on 1977 Breakdown from I Robot. Parsons has had the Midas touch. Definitely any engineer who has worked with him has been very fortunate and appreciated.
I'm 70 and I agree with you. I used to play this album at night when I went to bed.
Understood. Yet, when the engineer does get attention, it is usually because he/she has screwed up, so sometimes silence is good.
@@s.thomasfife1836 When you're a sound engineer working for Alan Parsons, I doubt anything BUT greatness will be deemed acceptable...
Im 60- love this♥️
My wife is from Bogota Colombia, and she's never heard of the band. Now that I showed her this concert, she's their newest fan.
The greatest band of all time!
In my teenage years I learnt to enjoy this kind of music that still gives me goosebumps.
Been listening to Alan Parsons since the 80s... never... ever..gets old.... They still Rock out.... even to this day....Alan still has it on stage.... hell of a Resume.... Thank you for the Awesome music ....We'll played..Sir...Well Played !!!👍🎸😎
Alan Parsons Project. Incredible band. I miss hearing them.
That intro is out of this world!
Alan Parsons and The Philharmonic Orchestra of Medellin: It´s high level music.
I've always loved Allen Parson Project. Great music. I've picked one of his songs to be played at my funeral, when it comes. Old and Wise. Such a deep song.
Finally, a musician that actually deserves a symphonic tribute.
Oh, I don't know... That time Cypress Hill stole an orchestra from Peter Frampton on The Simpson's was rather good. 🤣
SOS EL MÁS GRANDE GRACIAS POR EXISTIR 😍❤️😍❤️😍❤️😍💋
@@mrcyde Just saw that episode...lol.
He absolutely does. That said, Yes, Pink Floyd and Emerson, Lake and Palmer are also worthy. I was blessed to see ELP live with orchestra and it was excellent.
@@mrcyde Hip hop? you must be on the wrong thread!
A timeless composition.. never fails to elevate my spirits. An energiser!
When the live choir joined in I had those old chills up and down the spine, like the first time I played this LP.
This is one Of the greatest songs Of a great album from the golden era Of music, I had not long got my license & I was driving An old Ford Fairlane I also met my life partner around that time. We used to blast this driving down The foggy back roads At 4am on cold Australian winter nights! Those nights made us inseparable we now have a child on the way, When my child gets older i'll play This album for them. Alan Parson's... Thankyou 🫡
A masterpiece of music...thank you Eric Wolfson and Alan Parsons......
saw him in Berlin some years ago-one of the most charismatic musicans ever! LOVE his music and performance! The first time I listend to his music is more than 40 years ago
Awesome musician!!!!!!!!! Been listening for decades and decades. Met him about 8 to 10 years ago In Cleveland Ohio and he was kind enough to give me a signed copy of a promotional cd with his songs Fragile & Luciferama . 🎸🎤. Rock n Roll 🤘
One of the most underrated bands ever. Love them
This man's music is genius.
I Robot & Dark Side of the Moon, helped me get through a lot of lonely nights. To sit back in a dark room with headphones on, I was lost in the moment. Can you imagine the revelation when I found out who was the sound engineer for PF on DSM?!!! BLOWN AWAY! Talk about the 1%ers! AP is an absolute master. Thank you, Sir!
Ya brother, I am58 and ALan Parsons Project and Pink Floyd prob saved me from suicide back in the 80’s. Literly saved my life.
I was still in grade school in the 70s, but I had a 7-year older brother who was into good music, so I was too, with Pink Floyd being one of my favorites. I saw Dark Side of the Moon as a masterpiece (well, it is!). When I first heard Alan Parsons, between his sound, concept albums, some of his themes, and some of his song titles, I pegged him to be a Floyd rip-off, lol... so I didn't want to like his music, but I really, really did! Eventually I learned about him being the sound engineer on Dark Side and the huge impact he had on the sound of that album. That made me so happy, because now I could enjoy The Alan Parsons Project without guilt or shame! I loved (and still do love!) the albums Tales of Mystery and Imagination, I Robot, and Turn of a Friendly Card. Hearing this video brings it all back... and the music makes me move! I'm gonna hafta buy this release....... :)
I LOVE Alan Parsons Project! Since very young!
All those people were soooooooo lucky to be there. Loved this band since I was 16 and over I'm 50 now.
WOW! Thank you Alan Parons for such great music over the years.
What a sound! What a mix! What a magnificent job by the orchestra! The videography is superb. Well-done., Five-stars.
Brings me to TEARS these classics . Have been an ardent fan of these groups - Pink Floyd , Alan Parsons & dating back to The Shadows of Cliff Richard Fame. Magnificent Music today is no where near to what it was in our times.
Amen to that. ELP is also in that category too. Music that has character to it.
@@3rdandlong And so many more!
The fundamental soul stirs something way deep inside! If music doesn't move you, what's the point? Great stuff, Mister Parsons, with my thanks from South Africa!
Best concert I ever saw was when ELO opened for Alan Parsons and then they collaborated during the second set. (Huntington Long Island at the Paramount). Meeting Alan later in the Founders room and actually sitting with him for 20 min talking about his early work. He is a genius and very down to earth.
Two of my favorites, what songs did they play together?
O my God, you lucky dog to see both of those band. Wow I bet that was a very memorable night
@@bbcala9719 Really was. One of my fav bands is Pink Floyd. To hear his input on Dark side is amazing
@@Bosstubeman Yo, Pink Floyd is my favorite band also. This may sound odd but when I bought the Division Bell, I read all the lyrics twice and thought it was sheer poetry. Bossman you have very good taste in music 🎶
@@bbcala9719 Thanks, I listen to just about everything except militant Rap. Hate that shit. Give me old school Rap from the 80's and 90's than OK. I love Romantic Warrior, Return to Forever. Chick Corea, Stanley Clarke, Al Di Meola and Lenny White. That is pure instrumental poetry. Also the weirdest for me is King Crimson, Court of the Crimson King.If you haven't, give those a listen......
Remember buying this album whilst still at school, hammered this track, this live version is great.
yes, and then with the Gratest Band of all Time !!! . Pink-Floyd - Atom Heart Mother (1970) and The Dark Side of the Moon (1973).
A fine looking group gathered together all prepared to Entertain. Sounds Great, Looks Great, I bet the Atmosphere was Excited.
One of the 70's greatest recordings.
I Robot should be in everyone’s essential album list
It's in mine. I listen to it Day After Day. The show must go on.
It's in mine, too. My dad brought me up on great music.
My recording is off the Original 1977 album, Duped onto Open Reel @ 15 I.P.S. !
i love don't let it show
I listen always I Robot and I Wouldn’t Be Like You back to back
Alan and his band sound great during this concert and I would certainly classify Alan as a musical genius for sure as he has written so many great songs over the years!
Oh there's no doubt. No One couldn't contest it. His writing, mixing and just raw talent shine through and through. His music just sounds so much bigger (spatial) than anything else out there. EVER
Hi, in my opinion KZhead has provided a collection but also a cultural, social, engineering encyclopedia in the best way in terms of quantity and quality. Which is a great appreciation for my company.
I Robot album is a true brilliant masterpiece
A old friend of mine had Parsons "I Robot" playing at his guard house at his job 45 years ago and this song has been stuck in my head since then as well as the whole album. He got me into listening to the Parsons Project to this day. Do have the vinyl version of this plus other Project albums.
It was at least 25+ years after this album came out that I finally got see them at Cal Expo in Sacramento. I Robot was the tune that hooked me all those years ago. A rock icon for producing "Dark Side of the Moon" by Pink Floyd. Should be in the Hall of Fame if he is not already.
I've listened to their music and knew this would be one of the best music of the world in our time. Great beautiful music by the brain.. Alan Parsons. ✝ ( In the 70s 👌👍
Absolutely gorgeous and beautiful ❤️
I'm 66 have loved this mans music since the 70s. I glad I'm not alone to this man's ahead of his time music. Genius!!!!!!
I just hope that they can do it some more. They have been the best since the first time I heard them in 1974 in San Diego ,Calif..
Saludos
Dang I just cried when the choir kicked in. Amazing.
My favorite Alan Parsons album is his first album and I Robot. Excellent Thank. you for posting
Ainda adolescente, me apaixonei pela sonoridade.
Amazing arrangement. Respect
Thank you Alan Parsons Project for pulling me out of my depression with this outstanding music. All band members are without a doubt phenomenal. Watched great interviews with Alan Parsons. You are the best.
1977 .. I saw a Bloody Accident..This album pulled me back..Terrible Flashbacks.
Can you imagine if Pink Floyd's "Great Gig in the Sky" and their I Robot's first track played back to back (Alan Parsons Project both responsible for) in concert! 😍🤤 What a 1970s rock band to grow up with back then! 👍
Hell yeah
Biggest benefit of being old; we got to see *all* the best groups 😆

Walked into a record store that was playing Tales Of Mystery And Imagination. The cut I heard was Fall of the House of Usher. I was immediately hooked. I still have the vinyl disc. I also have the CD with narration by Orson Welles. This is one great recording.
AWESOME, EPIC, fabulous song!!!!!

Great memories to be had. Love ya Alan Parsons Project. Michael Baugh PhD.
I love this album, especially "Breakdown".
Ditto on previous comment, but I'm 63 yrs old. A brilliant music technician. His band members, all excellent, work together like one project!
Excelente interpretación. Espectacular grupo. Gran admirador de Alan Parsons
Never seen AP. I would pay a lot to do so if he tours again in the US. The AP Project was just pure genius.
He is on tour now in the USA and he just played this last night. Don't miss out, go see the show. The tickets are not much more than a months worth of coffee.
On tour in 2024....8 may here in San Diego....
Real musicians, playing real stuff ...

OMG. I read The Lord of the Ring with that record on repeat... So many memories. Great!
I love the drummer Danny …so focused !
Keith was the greatest keyboard player ever bar none. After meeting with him once at a show, after playing the keyboard backwards flawlessly, I knew where my own playing was headed! Thank you my most valued friend! Thomas Sullivan Searsport, ME.
The Great Man Alan Parsons 🎼🎸🎼 ❤❤❤
Thanke you so much. 🎶🎸🎙✌
For me this concert is the best ever...
I love this song, and this was the first CD I bought when they were still a new thing. They did a fantastic job on this video! He has always worked with the best musicians, and the bassist in particular is really jamming! You can tell he's having fun, and that's what it's about.
I still have this 8 track tape of this album, even though it's quality has been horrible for a few decades. This played in my truck over and over, very loud and proud. Still one of the best albums ever.
I drove a semi back in the days of cabovers . When driving about 68 - 70 mph , the rhythm of this song along with a concrete interstate highway , the cab and music would sync up ! I loved it !
Absolutely one of the best albums ever.
Alan Parsons finest work !
Amazing! Uncanny! Utterly remarkable!!
