Pilatus obtained certification for take-offs and landings on grass, wet earth and snow, making the PC-24 the world’s most flexible business jet ever. So its worth cost more than phenom 300
*2 very different jets, the PC-24 is more versatile, better cabin layout, and can access way more runways. The Phenom is faster and more amenity driven. Me? My money is in the Pilatus, no question.*
It would have been nice if you provided a graphic on specifications of both planes: T/O roll, gph burned, cruise speed, range, baggage capacity etc.
It isn't like BMW versus Mercedes Bens. It is like a BMW X5 versus 5 series. The PC 24 has a cargo door large enough for a pallet and can take-off and land on unimproved runways (e.g. dirt). The other jet doesn't have a pallet-sized cargo door nor take-off and land on unimproved runways.
From a pilot's perspective the Phenom 300 is a much nicer and better aircraft! I had both ratings, Phenom and PC24. The avionic on the Phenom is so much better, especially for single pilot operations!
@@Hans_Magnusson Garmin Avionics is made for kids and very intuitive, you don't have to spend time to get comfortable with the logic, as you do on pc24 avionics. It's just as simple as iphone.

@@omigo1708 I would say the Garmin is only intuitive if you're not already familiar with Honeywell or Collins packages. There are a number of nice things the Garmin can do, but it is a very limited package.

Not mentioned here, the PC-24 also has a full externally-serviceable bathroom instead of a honey pot which is brilliantly located where the door closes. A fantastically efficient use of space and much less awkward to use than the Phenom's.
The Phenom 300/300E offer an externally serviced lav, but the PC 24 features an externally serviced lave with a vacuum toilet, which no other light jet offers.
And that's the big bonus. Vacuum toilets suck out the unpleasant odor.
Phenom 300 leading sales for 11 consecutive years. Speaks for itself.
I would have enjoyed a side by side specifications comparison chart. Apart from the VERY awkward lav, I favor the PC-24 for its overall craftsmanship and that Swiss engineering excellence.
I prefer the Pc-24, it's main problem is the lack of a true to purpose laboratory.

i dont understand the people that would choose a phenom 300 over the pc24. The pc24 has a wider, taller, and longer cabin, with an 8 seat configuration (6 seat configuration max on the phenom), huge cargo space accessible during flight, with more runway options, and flying at the same speed with the same range, just because the phenom "looks better" and has a nicer bathroom that youll never use. Not to mention, that the pc24 looks better in my opinion

Lol really? yes it was designed from the ground up to be single pilot and is the best light jet for single pilot on the market. Single pilot is one of the main selling features of the plane and headlined on the website for it.

Thanks for this video. PC24 is built in far superior quality than 300E, however after sales service especially in Asia is poor hence PC24 is loosing out many customers to 300E. The upcoming Honda Jet 2600 will be game changer though.
Embraer´s quality and attention to detail is absolutely astonishing. Highly engineered planes as you do not see anywhere else among the competitors. Not even close.
Both are awesome , it just depends on what you need your plane to do.
PC 12 is the clear winner here.
Love them both but phenom suits my mission profile better but the idea of having a jet with field performance and a door big enough to put my dirt bike in is pretty awesome but having flown on both phenom has fantastic short field performance and way better bathroom and speed and economy advantage that make it much better for my business
thats how you know you dont have a jet. Youll never use the bathroom becuase its $200 to suck out the pee everytime you use it, and on the pc24 you have more space to convert the cabin into a 8 seat configutation unlike the phenom, because the pc24 has a wider, taller, and longer cabin with flat floors

Most people are not going to buy based on lavatory. The Pilatus can land at thousands more airports than the 300 can. Not to mention that cargo door means you can load much larger items in the back. And QPM means you can run certain aircraft systems without ground power or putting TBO hours on the engines. As a pilot I'll take the PC-24 over the 300 any day of the year.
And the price comparison between the 2 aircraft ??
I realize many of these 2 jets will be owner flown, but from a passenger perspective, the flat floor and QPM power mode of the 24 to run the a/c in Florida summers cooling the cabin for my arrival would be a big plus. The bathroom arrangement of the 24 is a negative for me.

Pilatus PC-24 with a two seats from the back removed and replaced with a toilet/ washroom. Current “toilet area” area to be made into a galley/ kitchenette. Then you’ve got a “go anywhere” plane with STOL.
Not "STOL", but unimproved field capable.
The whole point of the Pilatus is the large cargo door and versatility, it can be an air ambulance one day and a business jet the next, hence the lack of a rear toilet. Compromises are necessary...

The location of the LAV is fixed, as it’s externally serviced. To change that would mean re certification.
i think they need to offer a business version with a smaller cargo area as the current cargo hold is way to big for a business jet and replaced with a rear lavatory and yes a galley in the front as you do not need a window in the cargo hold
The versatility and STOL characteristics of the PC-24 are amazing. Unfortunately, being a fast jet with a huge cargo bay that can get in and out of short dirt/grass runways makes it a favorite of drug runners. Don’t ask me how I know that. Why are you showing photos of Cessna Citations as well as the Pilatus when speaking of the Phenom? Some video editing corrections are in order. Otherwise, good job!
Unpopular opinions: The Phenom is basically a Yugo. Armrests and cockpit side panels constantly fall off. You bump into them, they fall off. Trim panels underneath the seats end up randomly dispersed in the plane after passengers kick them off. They are essentially held on with velcro.The sunken aisleway is a wonderful way to break/strain an ankle. As someone mentioned previously, the avionics is suitable for beginners, not professionals (show me how to easily input a crossing restriction abeam a point not directly on the active leg). Braking! I've never seen brakes that worked so randomly in any aircraft I've flown before, even other Embraer products. Until the E model, the Phenom was unremarkably slow, clumsy and had unharmonious controls. I dont understand the logic behind mounting the controls so high and as you pull aft, they go higher. I do recognize the plane fills a niche and is cost-effective to operate.

I feel like you just read from each brochure for 11 mins. A "vs" video should have some comparisons and at the end at least give your opinion on which one you feel is the better option and why. BernieKuepfer makes a great contribution in the comments about the Phenom having much better avionics in regards to single pilot operations but an explanation in the video as to why the 300 tops that category would've been very helpful. The information in this video was above and beyond but keep in mind that most people searching out information comparing two similar products are looking for reasons why one is better than the other.

I’d have to say neither is better. The choice is based entirely on mission and priorities. Either is single pilot capable, though the Phenom avionics suite is more user friendly. But some operators need a jet that can operate from short and/or unimproved strips and be loaded with a forklift. These operators will be happy in the PC24. And anyone comparing these two should also be looking at the Cessna Citation CJ4.

Yup, in any aircraft purchase, it starts and ends with mission. If you need a jet that can land on unimproved strips and that can be loaded with a forklift, the PC24 is for you. If you don’t need these and comfort and luxury are key, though the PC24 is no slouch, the Phenom 300E is your choice in this class. But you should also consider the Cessna Citation CJ4. Beyond these, you now require a second pilot. Me? Phenom 300E please.

The Phenom is a jet technologically much more modern and much cheaper than the PC24 ... I think this Swiss knife from the skies needs to be "sharpened" to compare with the Phenom...

@@alexanderpodlecki5431 Don't overexaggerate. It's better on the Phenom, but the door in the PC-24 does the job. It's good enough. If that's the price for access to all the luggage in-flight, that's a fair price.
So, I saw a citation jet during the Pilatus presentation, a Lear during the Phenom- then a Pilatus during the Phenom. And the narrator doesn't speak "pilot speak", which was annoying (Eff ELL 4 hundred and fifty...). Oh well, at least she sounded hot.

It's not a small difference. And you can buy a used Embraer for less than half a price. The Pilatus costs of ownership are much more than Embraer's. Economically the Embraer beats Pilatus without a chance. Pilatus's only advantage, which is versatility, is only needed in extreme cases. That is why the main customers of the aircraft are organizations like "Australian Flying Doctors" and such. And yet, this undoubtedly beautiful special operations jet will never supplant the king of versatility at this class, the King Air. Which is beating the living daylights out of the Pilatus economically wise. So if you don't need a faster than a turboprop air ambulance or special transport capable of operating at hard-to-reach places, then you'd just overpay a lot of money for the versatility and carrying capacity you do not need.
@@Vladdy89 In which world does that argument make sense? If you spend millions on an asset, you will also calculate its depreciation and resell value which, in the Pilatus case, reduces cost of ownership significantly. In times of next-to-no interest rates big time! With a good financing your cost of ownership of the Pilatus is half that of a King Air, which offsets the higher fuel cost to a break-even that is somewhere around 200 hours annual utilization, which is about average for an owner pilot. This logically also applies to the buyer of a used aircraft. For that you get 30-70% higher cruise speed, better climb performance and thus around 30+% shorter mission time on a typical 600nm mission plus 10-60% longer range, depending on the King Air model. . Nothing said about better cabin comfort due to significantly lower noise levels....

The Phenom 300 E has the best performance, its fuel consumption is the lowest, it's the fastest and has the largest range on the market. Recently the FAA awarded Embraer for this achievement with the Phenon 300 E. If the FAA says this is the best... Sorry, Pilatus 🤷🏻♂️
But if you have a company with remote locations that require head office leaders to visit frequently, the Pilatus can take a pallet of supplies and land on dirt. That is what the Pilatus is for AND it still provides a very comfortable environment for the trip.

You know, its just 10 nm of difference in terms of range... 2000 nm for PC-24, 2010 nm for Phenom. It's nothing but bragging rights. And sure, Pilatus will cruise 24 knots slower. So what? That's a few minutes of difference in air time. Easily recouped by the fact you can land at smaller airports closer to your destination, cutting on ground travel time. Admittedly, long-range cruise speeds are superior with Embraer. 44 knots extra is a lot. Half an hour of difference on each 5 hour leg (or 5.5 hour leg with PC-24). But whether you choose to save half an hour, or get all the extra utility, that's a choice fully depending on your mission.

I would never land my jet, which cost millions, on a dirt or grass runway. I prefer the Phenom 300E, wonderful decor, it really has a private jet style.
The Phenom 300/300E also feature "real" light jet legroom, as opposed to the Pilatus PC 24, which offers legroom more akin to a midsize jet.

pilatus all the way, its so much better and holds so much more and for roughly the same price edit: alright so I also know this guy who got sold a phenom 300 that had a landing gear issue, and had to land on the runway without landing gear. Legally Embraer didn't have to tell him because they tested the plane before the aircraft was registered, which is kinda shady if you ask me. either way a private jet is like a penthouse on the 5,000th floor which means~~ I can't afford it :) also with the phenom 300 bbeing "longist range" maximum with only 1 passenger is 4 hours, compared from a 1 passenger pc 24 non stop from los angeles to new york city

FYI the pilatuc pc 24 is going to absolutely kill the light jet market, because its a mid sized jet, with single pilot technology with a much shorter landing field, on top of that you get around the same price but a bigger jet, and same maintenance too. Usually it's more efficient with it's fuel burn as well. also I had the luck to be able to take a tour of the phenom 300, along with the pc 24. Though the pc 24 looks small, the thing is absolutely massive, you barley have to duck your head if your 5'10 furthermore, the phenom 300 is like a tomb, super narrow and small, while nice bathroom if you're gonna be 6'4 i wouldn't recommend
